It's important for us to have time every day that is set apart for spending with God. If you don't have time set apart where you don't let yourself do anything else in then God will become an afterthought. Maybe not at first but as the time goes on you will get busier and busier during that time until you are doing chores and talking to God which quickly becomes just doing chores. I'm not trying to say don't talk to God while you are doing things it's great to spend your time with God throughout your day while you are doing things. However it is not the same as uninterrupted time with Him. Setting five minutes apart and sitting somewhere with no distractions is so good for you and it will help you grow closer to God. When you set apart time apart and sit quietly with God with nothing to do then it fills you with peace and rest. It's also easier to listen for God when you sit somewhere quietly focused on Him. You need to block out all the noise of this world before you can get to know Him.
