Chapter 5: Declaration
Loki stayed in the darkness of his room all night until the sun rose from the horizon. He didn't bother sleeping when he couldn't find solace in this empty space anyway. There was no freedom for him anywhere.
Without another thought, he got up and freshened up because today he had to take Zero to where the alphas of the city gathered. But this was also where Rolf would meet her. It was Loki's responsibility to obey and ensure that Zero made it there in one piece. But he wasn't sure what game Rolf was play once they got there. He stood under the hot spray of the water, letting it soak over his body and through his dark hair.
For some reason, a sick sensation twisted in his gut. There was a wave of guilt over him and he guessed it was because he was taking Zero to the wolf's den where there were going to tear her apart. But he couldn't fall victim to sympathy. He had a duty to fulfil and he'd do it, otherwise the consequences were dire for him.
Loki got out of the shower and he swiped his hand across the mirror, that had grown foggy from the heat. He saw his pale face, those green eyes that had lost their virtue a long time ago. His gaze trailed down to the scar on the skin above his heart, that resembled a lightning bolt. This was where that sorcerer had cursed Loki for an eternity. He placed his hand over the scar and his body shuddered from disgust. There was nothing that could get him out of this curse.
Loki dropped his hand and walked out of the bathroom. He got dressed in a suit and secretly strapped a gun under his arm, just in case he should need it. Raking his dark hair back, he made sure every single strand was placed in its spot, not letting it disobey him. He stood in the black clothing, his pale skin contrasting against it.
There was an emptiness that surrounded the air as he took a breath. What was he trying to convince himself of? he wondered as he stared at his unspoiled appearance. Was it that this appearance was a scam? Or was it that the appearance was all he could control in this world of monsters? He wasn't entirely sure anymore.
Loki turned away from the mirror and left. He went to Zero's room and knocked but it wasn't answered. He knocked again and then again. A shard of panic set in and he barged through the door, but the room was empty.
Where could she have gone? Loki searched for her. He couldn't lose her. Rolf would kill him. He rushed out of the room and ran down the stairs, when suddenly, he saw her tall figure on the terrace outside. She was cloaked in sunlight as the cool air made her breath fog before her lips.
Loki breathed in relief before he approached her. "Good morning," he greeted once he reached the door.
Zero turned revealing her sharp blue eyes. "Good morning, Loki," her voice assertive and alert despite it being only dawn.
"Would you like some coffee or breakfast?" he offered.
She shook her head. "We should head out," she said. "I want to make sure we don't miss that council meeting."
"Yes, of course," he replied.
"Do you have a car?" she asked him.
Loki replied with a curt nod.
Zero turned back and stared at the sun again. He didn't understand why but he felt as if she was gathering strength from it somehow. Was it possible for a person to be this mystifying in simply the way they talked or even breathed? She was unlike anyone he's ever seen before. What made her this way? What motivated her to be untouchable? How could he become like her?
"Should we go?"
Loki found her staring at him while he was gawking her. "Er- yeah, right," he turned away flustered before rushing out of the house to the car parked in the driveway.
Zero got in the passenger side and she slammed the door as he started the engine. The car reverberated as they sat together and warmed up from the cold wintery air, that frosted the glass around the car. Loki turned the lights on and checked the mirrors. Zero sat, unbothered and stared out the window. Even though, he didn't make it obvious, but his eyes immediately tracked the three cameras in the car. Rolf was the one that gave Loki this car to use, so there were going to be trackers as well. Zero wasn't aware of this fact and it was quite clear that she wasn't paying attention to the cameras spying on her.
Loki didn't bother wasting time as he reversed out of the driveway and headed down the empty roads. It was still quite early, so the locals weren't out and about yet.
They drove out of the town into the forest area and he didn't mind the long drive because he felt like he could escape here. For once, he could drive and drive where no one could find him. He'd run away to the furthest part of the world and drop everything he ever knew behind him. But that wasn't possible, was it? Not when he was bound by an unbreakable curse.
"Are you sure that the leader of The Hounds will also be attending?" Zero inquired.
Of course, since he wants to meet you, he answered in his mind. "I'm sure he will be of attendance," he replied to her.
Zero nodded.
"What will you do once you arrive at the council meeting?" Loki asked curiously.
She began drumming her fingers on her knee. "Depends-"
"On?"
"On whether or not I make enemies or allies-" she continued.
"You won't find any allies there," Loki remarked.
Zero's finger halted and he saw it from the corner of his eye. "You'll be surprised what people are capable of once they are presented the right kind of deal," she said. "If those alphas don't want to die, they will obey."
"They haven't obeyed anyone in decades, Zero," Loki found her belief naive.
Zero smirked. "We'll see about that."
Loki drove the rest of the way silent because he didn't understand where Zero got her confidence from? This city had the worst hand in leaders. The alphas were ruthless and their pack enforcers were even worse. Everyone oppressed the weak here, he's seen it since the day he was born. There was nothing that could change them, not even all the money in the world. And if anyone posed a threat to them, then they were killed off immediately.
The Red Mount Citadel was a war zone that only teased at the idea of peace. Loki was well aware that where they were headed was where innocent lives were slaughtered and anyone with a good heart was converted to the bad side.
Loki glanced at Zero who held a determined look in her eyes. He wondered how long it would take until that determination faded because she was going to learn very quickly that no one was going to pay heed to her diplomatic approach. The alphas here sought war. A war with bloodshed and a dirty fight where there was no honour or loyalty.
As cold as the Berlin air was, nothing bit through his bone's the way the harsh laws of these alphas would. They were destructive and Zero would learn that today.
Eventually, they arrived at an arched gateway, that surrounded a massive iron-grey castle on the top of a hill. He drove through towards the castle and both of them stared at the massive fortress. There were other cars and he guessed that everyone had arrived. His eyes immediately saw Rolf's white Cadillac car parked at the very front.
Loki couldn't help but roll his eyes.
"It seems like everyone is here," Zero said.
Loki unbuckled his seatbelt. "Yeah," he responded. "Are you ready?"
Zero didn't even hesitate before she opened the door and got out to face the alphas of this city, that have caused chaos purely out of entertainment and spite.
Loki got out of the car too and he saw Zero lead the way, her heavy boots leaving prints on the gravel as the dark leather coat flowed like a cape behind her. Loki followed in her footsteps, feeling a sense of protection like she'd never let anything happen to him now that he stood by her side.
Both of them climbed up the stairs and towards the black doors. Loki pushed them open himself and a massive hall was presented. Dozens of dark-red pillars around the room with a chandelier that hung from the dome ceiling. Underneath it was an oval table with chairs and the alphas sat in their spot.
Loki and Zero faced the men that sat in their seats and they were shocked that two random strangers barged into the council. He was prepared to bring his gun out and fight through the havoc. But for some reason, no one moved from their seat as they all stared at Zero.
Loki's eyes glanced at Rolf who looked expensive and dangerous in his black suit, his hand extended on the table with his golden rings gleaming wealth. The mission was accomplished since Loki brought Zero to the council and Rolf could meet her himself.
"What is the meaning of this?" someone from the back spoke.
Loki guessed it was a pack enforcer or beta of the alpha that was stunned at the arrival.
"Shut up, Wolfe," an alpha snapped. "You don't know who she is."
"Who the fuck is she?" The man scoffed.
Zero stepped forward revealing more of her face under the golden lights. "Let me introduce myself," she said. "My name is Zero and I'm here to put an end to all of you."
Loki gaped at her and so did everyone else.
Zero chuckled as she glanced at Loki. "Do you think that get everyone's attention?" she jested before she walked into the room and stood at the front where there was an empty chair. She pulled it back and placed her heeled boot on it, standing as if this seat was beneath her and they were all infants for wanting such a power.
Loki didn't have any words, but if he could have clapped, he would have. He never thought that a council of such arrogant alphas could be uttered speechless. But, here they were, unable to do anything.
"What business do you have in our city, Zero?" an alpha spoke sternly.
Loki recognized the man in his mid-forties, grey suit and a heavy dark beard that brought out his dark eyes. That was Elias Winter, the alpha of the Silver Ice pack.
"I already told you," Zero said. "I'm here to put an end to this war you all created."
"And you think by barging into our territory, that we'd let you order us around," Oskar Wiesner spoke. He was the alpha of the Shadow Flame pack.
Zero faced the old man's blue eyes. "I'm not here to order anyone around," she told them. "I'm here to tell you that if you continue to torment the town and the rogue wolves there, then I will be your worst nightmare."
The men around the room stiffened in their seats.
"Danesberg isn't in any trouble," the alpha of the Shadow Flame pack said.
Zero glared at him. "Then you have been sitting in your castle for far too long," she believed. "Look outside the gates of your territory and you will learn of the truth."
"Rogue wolves aren't my concern," Oskar said bitterly.
Loki's stomach twisted into a knot. He knew that no one here was going to protect anyone other than their own people. Zero's efforts were futile.
"You call yourself an alpha," Zero remarked as she stared at Oskar. "What is the point of you existing if you turn your back on people you need help?"
"I won't waste my resources on rogues," Oskar retorted.
Zero straightened as she smirked at him. "That's why I'm here," she declared. "The rogues in that town are my responsibility now. I will protect them-" her eyes turned onto Rolf- "from everyone."
Loki saw the way Rolf's eyes blazed with amusement, but there was obvious anger in them too. He wasn't happy that he was challenged in his own court. Rolf would want to kill Zero even more now that she stepped foot in his territory and claimed it for herself.
What the hell was going to happen now? Loki wondered as he stared at all the people who were ready to fight Zero.
"My pack has no intention of standing in your way, Zero," Elias spoke as the voice of reason.
Oskar shot a glare at Elias. "Typical," he scoffed. "You always did know how to slither back in your hole when a fight came knocking at your door."
"You want to say that again!" A man from behind Elias stepped forward. He was tall, brutish and held a mean scowl.
"Watch your fucking tone," Oskar's beta stepped forward and faced Elias's wolf. He held himself with authority that matched his muscular physique. He had auburn hair and blazing blue eyes.
Both of them ready to rip each other's head off.
"Wolfe!" Elias held his beta back from attacking. "Back down!"
Wolfe kept the scowl on his face but he obliged his alpha and stepped down. The other man didn't back off though and it didn't seem like Oskar minded. In fact, he seemed more than pleased by the instigation of a fight.
Suddenly, Loki felt eyes on him and he knew that his master was staring at him with venomous intentions. He hesitated before he turned slightly to see those eyes on him. Loki wasn't sure what Rolf was thinking but he prepared himself for the worst because the hound was about to launch his attack.
Rolf got to his feet and buttoned his blazer. "I've heard a lot about you, Zero," he claimed as he crossed the room, slowly and measured each step. "But I never thought you'd be a fool."
Zero turned her body towards him as he approached her.
"This territory belongs to us," he gestured to himself and the other two alphas. "We've fought for our seat. What have you done?"
Loki noticed the way her eyes flashed from cobalt-blue to an intense silver.
"While you were fighting for a seat at this table, I was killing men like you," Zero claimed. "This throne you cherish is nothing. Don't fall for its glory because it's only an enchantment, that I'll happily break for you." Zero took her foot off the chair and kicked it far until it toppled over and slammed into the wall.
Rolf's eyes flashed with a streak of fury that no one has never seen before. "This council is owned by the alphas of this city," he reminded. "You or anyone else can't just come in here and take what's not yours. Otherwise, there will be retribution." His furious eyes turned to Loki before he pulled out a gun and held it up at Loki's head.
"You're not allowed weapons in here," the beta of the Shadow Flame pack astonished but Oskar stopped him.
"What are you going to do now, Zero?" Rolf challenged. "How are you going to save this boy from my bullet?"
Loki closed his eyes as he felt the gun against the temple of his forehead. He knew that if Rolf wished to pull the trigger, he would without hesitation. For someone who has lived a long time under the threat of death, this didn't faze him anymore. But a part of his heart felt a little tinge of hope because he saw Zero standing next to him. Would she let him die? Or would she save him? What choice would she make with the honour in her courageous heart? Loki stared at her, his eyes hopeful for once in a very long time. Perhaps, that was stupid of him. But could he be blamed for this idiocy when the saviour of the world stood right here in front of them.
"Hold him," Rolf ordered his hounds who came running to follow through.
They grabbed Loki and shoved him down to his knees in front of Rolf who proudly stood with the gun in hands, ready to fire when he wished.
"I have the boy on his knees now, Zero," Rolf taunted. "If you can't even save him, how will you protect that town?"
Loki's knees dug into the cold marble floor as he saw his entire future flash before his eyes. He was a dog owned by this notorious criminal. Nothing could save him. Not even Zero.
"Do you think you're powerful because you pointed a gun at someone innocent?" Zero spoke then.
Rolf stiffened and so did Loki.
Innocent, he felt that word pierce his heart. He was anything but innocent. How did Zero see him that way? He was a tainted monster who was a piece in the game that would become her destruction. Loki's heart squeezed in his chest as he felt disgusted with himself.
Zero stepped forward and grabbed the front of the gun, surprising Rolf. She lifted it up and placed it on her own forehead. "Shoot," she declared. "I fucking dare you." Rolf, Loki and the rest of the men gaped at her. "Come on, shoot me," she asserted as she stepped closer with a fire in her gaze that was unmatched. "But let me warn you. The moment you pull this trigger and that bullet meets my skull. I won't die. I will spit that bullet out and then I will attack." Rolf tried to pull the gun back but Zero didn't let him. "I will hunt you down and return all the pain you caused the people of this town, that's my fucking promise to you." She shoved his gun away and faced his towering height with her own. "You aren't dealing with the alphas and wolves of this city anymore, Rolf. You are facing me and I don't lose. You want to know why? Because I've stared death in her eyes and I've danced in Hell. I crawled out of my own grave. Have you?"
Rolf's defence dropped and for once a shard of fear flashed through his eyes.
Loki thought he'd never see the day.
Zero turned and grabbed Loki's arm helping him off his knees. "Loki's my friend," she told Rolf. "You hurt him, I'll kill you. Watch yourself because I'm not bound by any laws." On her way out, she shoved past Rolf, slamming her shoulder into his as if she wanted him to know that she'd fight her way through any threat to get her way. Loki couldn't help but feel his heart ache with relief. For once, he breathed and she made it happen.
Loki ran after her. "Zero!" he called out. "Are you sure what you did was the right thing?"
Zero faced him. "I protect the people I trust because that's my duty," she told him.
Loki saw her determined eyes that were for him. "Why?" his voice was a whisper and she didn't hear him because someone approached them from the Citadel.
"Zero," it was the alpha, Elias and his beta, Wolfe.
Loki stepped back and turned his face away from Zero so she didn't see the pain in his shrouded eyes.
"Elias," Zero greeted.
"I would like to apologize on the council's behalf," Elias said.
Zero straightened. "I'm listening."
"I do not mean to offend you in any way," Elias said. "I respect what you do and what you represent. Please, honour me a visit to my pack."
Loki wondered if she would accept the invitation and it seemed like even the beta of the pack was surprised by his alpha's strange decision.
"Thanks for the offer but-"
"Do not refuse me-" Elias interrupted. "I wish to discuss your plan for this town."
Zero considered it. "Alright," she agreed.
"You can follow us in your car," Elias smiled before he walked off to the truck with his beta.
Loki circled around the hood and opened the door to the car. Zero had climbed inside as well. But that was when Rolf walked out of the building and their eyes met. Loki had never seen Rolf carry himself so pitifully. It was as if Zero had smashed away the golden armour around him and revealed how dark and rusted he truly was on the inside.
Rolf's eyes twisted with poison and right now he had his eyes on Loki. But he knew that Rolf couldn't do anything right now, not with Zero here. For once, Loki wasn't an animal bound by a collar. He was free to decide for himself.
Opening the car door, he got inside and drove away, far away.
Loki wasn't sure if this was another game played by fate, but for once, he was filled with joy that life showed him something different. He glanced at Zero who easily changed the course of that council with a single move of hers. Everything could change. Loki could be free if he was by her side. Was he being too hopeful? Probably. But for once, he didn't stop himself. For once, he didn't hold himself back because if this hope was only invited once in his life, he wished to feel it to the fullest.
Through the drive across town, he followed the black truck into their forest territory and the sound of rushing water caught their attention.
Zero turned and saw the valley between the twin mountains. And Loki knew that she recognized it because she was the one that asked him about it. He just didn't know what her objective was though. Why did she want to see these mountains? Unless, it was her mission to meet the two packs that resided here. The only thing was that these packs would rather set fire to the world than ever work together, even if it was to help her.
"Zero," Loki called out.
"Hmm?"
"What are you planning by visiting the Silver Ice pack?" Loki inquired.
"For now, I am just being a humble guest," she answered.
Humble. Her? Loki didn't associate that word to her. No one did. He was surprised that she did. Anyone's guess was as good as his to what her plan entailed. But something told him that she was visiting this pack so she could see what they were like on the inside. She was gaining entry and trust, and if she needed to put on a smile and be tactful, then so be it.
Arriving at a pair of large silver gates, that were heavily guarded with men and wolves too. Loki already knew that security would be tight here, since he's done his own research on all the packs for Rolf. This gate was the only entry and exit, which was what made this pack hard to infiltrate because behind them was a large mountain, that had a harsh climate and didn't allow wolves or humans to navigate.
This was the first time for Loki to be invited inside, he wasn't sure how to act. But if it was up to Rolf, he would want him to get all the information he could on this pack from the inside. But Loki wasn't here for Rolf. He was here for Zero, so he couldn't betray her by stealing information. For once, he turned away from his loyalties to his master and let Zero lead him.
They drove through the gates that opened through the middle. Following the truck, they passed the long tunnel of trees and a huge field was revealed with the Silver Ice pack before them.
Loki parked the car and they got out together. The sun blazed right above the green field, allowing them to see the massive mountain that stood guard proudly. There was an ice-white manor right next to them and then there were smaller cabins around the field. Wolves walked around and so did people, they all greeted their alpha who returned out of respect. But their eyes lingered on Zero and Loki, since they were outsiders. But apart from the judgmental eyes, this forest and that mountain proved why Elias Winter was a powerful alpha.
"This is beautiful," Zero said as she smiled at the beautiful view.
"Thank you," Elias said when he heard her. "This mountain has been the home for my pack for centuries."
"With that mountain guarding you, I can see why," Zero voiced.
Elias was pleased by her praise. "Please, come inside, I shall pour you a drink," he said leading the way for them.
Loki's eyes glanced at the beta who wasn't pleased at all that he was forced to host rogue wolves. He didn't blame the man. Rogues were rarely welcome anywhere. Except, no one would kick Zero out. She wasn't like other rogues. Loki stayed close to her side, so he could keep her safe if these people decided to betray her.
The doors to the manor were already open before they arrived and they walked into a polished home, that roared money and power. There was a masculine edge to the house with the dark wood floors and cabinets, the walls were painted shades of blue and sapphire with silver embellishments. But Loki's eyes went straight to mantel with the dead animals that were hung in a line. There was an elk, a grizzly bear and even a polar bear.
Loki's heart ached in his chest as the chains on him tightened. Was his fate going to be the same as these animals? Probably. He was merely waiting for his turn. Rolf was sharping his knives and he'd carve Loki's heart out and hang him up like a trophy one day. He just didn't know when his clock would stop ticking.
"Loki," a voice called out.
He blinked and saw Zero who had stopped in her tracks and so did everyone else because of him. "Sorry," he cleared his throat and hurried after her.
They arrived in the massive lounge where Elias offered them seats. Wolfe, the beta stood right behind his alpha's seat and leaned against the wall with a scowl. Loki glanced at Zero as she smiled at the beta who was clearly testing her with his arrogance.
Elias went over to the bar in the corner and grabbed a bottle of scotch. He poured it in two crystal glasses with an ice cube. "I am pleased that you accepted my invitation, Zero," he said as he lifted the glasses and came over. "You are a hard woman to meet." He placed them down on the marble table.
Zero accepted her glass and clinked it against Elias who held his to her. "You might be the only person in this city that is pleased by my arrival," she said.
Elias took a seat as he sighed dejectedly. "Don't be angry with the council, they've always been closed-minded, especially Oskar," he said bitterly.
"How long has your feud been going on with that pack?" Zero inquired.
"Since both our packs formed on these mountains," Elias told her.
"There has never been peace," she said.
Elias shook his head. "Thankfully, with the council, neither of our packs can go to war again," he told her. "But I fear that Oskar may always be an enemy against me."
"Why do you think that?" Zero asked.
"That man doesn't want peace," the beta spoke grimly. "He only knows how to kill."
Zero faced him. "I don't think we've been introduced," she said.
"This is my beta-"
"I am Wolfe, son of Wolfe," the man introduced himself as he glared at them.
Loki shared a concerned look with Zero but she was amused by this brute of a beta. "Someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed," he mumbled.
Wolfe glared at Loki. "Who the hell are you?" he asked.
"He's Loki," Zero stepped in, "and you will watch your tone with him."
Wolfe turned his icy-silver eyes and raked them down her. "I don't owe you anything," he said. "You are in our pack as our guest, so I'm being tolerant. But I don't care who you are or what you are."
"Wolfe, that's enough," Elias warned.
Zero got to her feet and went to Wolfe. "You've got guts, I like that," she smiled which surprised the beta. "But if you really want to show your strength, I'd rather fight and not waste time on words."
Wolfe revealed a cold smirk. "Perfect," he said as he straightened. "That's just my style too."
"Wolfe," Elias intervened sternly. "Zero is my guest and you will not disrespect her this way. Get out and don't come back until your temper's in check."
Wolfe didn't take his eyes off Zero. But he had an obligation to the alpha and had to obey, even though it took everything out of him to do so. The man stomped out of the room and seemed to take the fiery heat with him too. There was a cool draft in the room all of a sudden.
"Zero, please, sit down," Elias said. "Do not be offended by Wolfe. He's young and hot-blooded."
Zero laughed as she sat down and crossed her knees. "I like him," she said. "How long has he been your beta?"
"For a few years," Elias said. "He's got a lot to learn, especially controlling that temper."
Loki saw the smile on Zero's face, which he didn't understand what made her so happy while that beta disrespected her.
"He wants to prove himself as a beta," Zero observed. "I can see that he wears his heart on his sleeve. That's always a sign of a good wolf."
Elias smiled. "He's like a son to me," he shared. "But even I have a hard time controlling him."
Zero lifted the glass to her lips. "Perhaps, I can help with that," she said.
Loki frowned. Why would she want to help that beta? He seemed more than happy to fight her when he got the chance. There was no way he was going to listen to anything Zero had to say, especially advice to be a better beta for the pack.
"So, what is your plan for the city?" Elias asked Zero.
But, that was when something buzzed quietly in Loki's pocket. He knew right away that Rolf had summoned him. His heart in his chest dropped and he felt his body go numb. Loki shut his eyes tightly. He didn't answer the call and he blatantly ignored it because right now, he wasn't Rolf's hound, he was Zero's guide.
Loki tried to focus on the discussion, but his mind lingered on the call that buzzed again in his pocket. Why was Rolf so desperate to meet right now? But that was a stupid question. Loki knew it was because of everything that happened at the council. Rolf was probably fuming with rage. Rage that could burn the world or Loki.
"Saving the city will be hard work, Zero," Elias said.
Loki heard him and he agreed wholeheartedly.
"I know that," Zero said. "And I'm not here asking for help, Elias. I won't endanger your pack in anyway. I just need to make sure that you don't interfere in my mission."
"Of course not," Elias nodded. "I will make sure my wolves stay out of your way."
"Thank you," Zero smiled.
"I wish you luck," Elias said. "That town has been tormented long enough."
Loki caught the despair in Elias's eyes, which was surprising since Rolf never harmed this pack. He wondered what Elias grieved.
"The town is under my protection now," Zero declared.
Elias smiled at her. "And it could not have asked for a better guardian," he said.
Loki's phone buzzed again. But this time, Zero heard it and she glanced at him. "You can answer it," she said.
"It's just work, it's not important," he smiled at her, so she didn't see through the ache in his eyes.
"Work is always important," Zero said before she turned to Elias. "We should take our leave now."
Elias was disappointed. "I wish to host you for dinner," he said. "My pack is holding a bonfire."
Zero was reluctant but Loki knew that if they left together, then he would not be able to meet Rolf without raising suspicion. And if Zero was alone in town, there was a chance she could get attacked and Loki wouldn't be there to protect her.
"Zero, you should stay, enjoy dinner here," Loki offered politely. "I will finish up work and meet you at home."
Zero tried to read his eyes, but he held a thick mask over them. She wouldn't be able to see the war battling inside him. No one could. "Are you sure?" she asked.
"Yes," he smiled.
Zero faced Elias. "Alright then," she agreed.
Loki got to his feet. "I will see you at home," he said and moved to leave, but Zero grabbed his wrist.
"Are you sure you will be fine?" she asked.
Loki's throat tightened with the strain that he had to lie to her over and over again. "Yes," he answered.
Zero let go of his wrist and he wished she hadn't done that because now, he had to leave. He had to face the wrath of his master who would punish him for his betrayal. Loki's heart throbbed in his chest as the curse was being wielded by a vile predator.
