Chapter 58

The next day after their morning prayer, Ara's mom told Ara to wait, telling her sister, Omoh to go to the kitchen and start her chores. Aramade stayed with her mom as she was instructed. Ara already knew what that was all about. About Ire. Her mom had been stylishly asking her what was going on between them but she had refused to talk. Now, Ara knew her mom was coming face to face with her.

"Aramade." Her mom called. She could see her daughter's face with the help of the florescent light shinning down upon them. It looked swollen as a result of sleep but still pretty. Ara's smile gave her mom the face she knew ever since her daughter was a kid.

"Mom, is this about my boss?"

Ara's mom stared at her letting her daughter realize she wasn't a kid. "Your boss or your boyfriend?"

Ara smiled, scratching the back of her neck. "Mom, I don't know how you would feel about it that's why have been avoiding the talk," she confessed. "We've started dating and it has been amazing between us. He really loves me mom. I love him too."

Ara's mom smiled back at her daughter. She knew the feeling too well. But she needed to tell her daughter to be careful. This type of relationship seemed too real to last. A Prince from a very rich, well educated family with her daughter. At that moment, Ara's mom wish she was that educated. She wish she went back to school and completed a degree, but she didn't take education that serious because she was already making money. Left to her, she would tell her daughter not to get involved with men like Prince Ire because at the end, they later realize you don't fit into their lives. But Ara's mom knew she couldn't say anything near to that because children of nowadays barely listen to their parents when it comes to getting into a relationship.

As a mother, she decided she would be positive and pray for them. She hope her daughter found happiness at the end of the day. Ara's mom just smiled. "Aramade, if I talk to you oko mi, will you listen?"

"Mom." Ara chuckled. "Of course I will. You love me the most and have come to realise it."

"Ose oko mi (Thank you my child)." Ara's mom said. "You see, he seems like a gentleman to me. I know he will take care of you, but Ara, staying with a man like him, you will have to take a dose of patience to be patient with him. Not because of him, but because you don't know who his family are yet. It might be tough for them liking you if you finally met with them. And that's because they might have liked his ex or because of something you don't even know at all. So be a good girl that you are. Relationship is not a joke Asake mi. My God is with you always. And...hmm....small small o. Is not time for tibi tibi oko mi."

Aramade burst out laughing. "Mommy, ewo tun' ni tibi tibi bayii." She acted like she didn't know her mom was talking about sex.

"Hmm..." Her mom did again smiling. "Ayomi, there is nothing like finishing your school, getting married and ehnn ehnn... Kema bimo lo ni yala yolo (then you can now start having children as you like)."

Aramade laughed. "You see this my mom ehnn. Motigbo Mommy Ara." She immediately got up before her mom added another one for her again. But then, Ara's mom instantly called her back.

"Oko mi, there is this wedding party I've been trying to talk to you about since last week. We are the caterer for the day and I need you to follow us to serve. We need hands. It's an expensive party because if I tell you their estimation and what we are taking over to them, you will fear rich people with money."

Aramade laughed. She knew it was another party of a politician or a very rich family. They've gotten some many times and it doesn't freak her. Except that, she doesn't like how some of them treat and talk to servers. Like shit. "Mommy no problem. I will cancel everything I have on Saturday." She assured her mom going back into her room.

But her mom wasn't done yet. She went into the room and meet Ara. "I don't know where you are rushing to. Abi you are meeting your Prince this morning again."

Ara ended up laughing again. "Mom. I thought we were done talking. What are you saying again?"

"You were the one rushing nau," her mom said. "I want to meet him. Will he come to see me?"

Ara looked at her mom for some seconds. "Mommy what are you saying that you can't tell me to tell him."

"Because you have turn to WhatsApp."

Ara slowly turned to the other side of the bed and covered her head with her wrapper. Omoh who was done at the kitchen and was close to them heard how their mom replied and laughed. "Aunty Ara it is finish. Mommy has finally left you."

Aramade drew her wrapper down. "They will leave you!"

Omoh made fun of her sister. "Don't leave me o...." She shouted about the house until their mom screwed her brain with some looks that drove her to the kitchen to take a broom and continue her chores.

Both Ara and Doyin were at the make-up artist. The Lady pleaded with Aramade many times because she knew Aramade's face would bring out the beauty of her work, but those times, Aramade had decline because she knew once she accepted, more people might come to her as well. And face modelling wasn't part of what she signed for. But when the Lady finally contacted Doyin, she found herself sitting there with the make-up artist. Doyin was the only one who could talk her into anything and she would accept.

They were still waiting for the photographer when the girls they met at the studio couldn't hold their tongue. "God, just look at the King of Lagos and his family. Chai! Someone with all these fine sons." One of the girls said.

The other two rushed to her. "Who is this tall, fine one among them?" One of the two girls said.

"This one. I heard he's the most strict one among them. My friend who once worked at the palace said he no dey give face. She said his face hard die and na correct wizard he be. In fact, correct akagum."

That got Ara laughing. She couldn't help it. She knew who that was already. None other than Prince Ire. Doyin just smiled at her friend and looked at the girls who wouldn't keep shut. She doesn't like the way they were discussing her bestie's man and decided to distract them. "And where is this photographer please?"

"He's almost here ma. We are very sorry. We thought of using our camera but we really want this video and the pictures to come out well cause of the person we are using." One of the ladies replied Doyin politely calming them down. But then, immediately she was done talking, they resumed back to what they were saying.

"Wait... Is that the same fine guy I saw earlier?"

"Yes." They replied themselves.

"Oh my!" The lady sounded breathless. "He's fucking handsome. Look at those muscles. Mhen! See him at the gym. That guy is hot guys."

"I swear! And all these hard guys na them dey sweet pass. They soft die. Oh my God is that him!" The lady almost screamed. "He's smiling. Jeez! Abeg screenshot that one. Biko Amarachi screenshot."

The other girls laughed at their friend and immediately they continued talking. "The girls are hot too."

"What do you expect! That is the King of Lagos children. The one and only King of Lagos. I swear if that man ask me out, I will say yes until I settle inside the palace."

The girls laughed. Then one of them said again. "But sincerely Tundun, with the way that King is, he can't marry just any how person. With the way that man use to blow grammar. Do you know almost all his sons have done their Masters. My friend told me the first son is dating one of the vice President's daughters. He said this hard face one was dating the wife of Ondo state Governor before. The third one is dating this top international model. As in, no cheap girl for corner."

The Tundun girl sat down and shook her head. "I need money to look fine I swear."

The girls laughed. "That's not all." The story teller continued. "My friend told me the first son is already heading one of the companies owned by the King. While the second guy. That hard face. She said he's a doctor and doesn't even work in Nigeria."

"Ehhh!" Both Amarachi and Tundun screamed. "Money o! Locate us."

"Amen." The last girl chorused before they ended up laughing at themselves. At that moment, the photographer arrived and they couldn't go on with their conversations anymore.
