Chapter 2 Deadly Life part 3: Trial

CW/TW: c//ts, b//rns, kn//fe
Let me know if I missed any

We made it to the trial room.

Guess we're back doing this again, I thought.

Monokuma grinned at us upon his throne like a sadistic. He seems to enjoy our suffering.

[*insert Monokuma explaining the rules because I'm not going to repeat them]

I looked around from my podium to see two new portraits.

Sky's

And Daisy's

"So...where should we start?" Kazuichi asked.

"I think we should start with how Daisy died. Just so we can be sure of it," Leafpool suggested.

"Yeah...," Annabeth said.

"Show yourself! Who killed Daisy!" Mami suddenly shouted.

"Umm...I don't think that whoever killed Daisy the human will reveal themselves this early on, human Mami," Papyrus noted.

"She's speaking from grief. We all do whenever we lose someone close to you," Leafpool meowed sadly.

"Ahem but we should start discussing on how Daisy died. N-not to be insensitive or anything but we should probably focus on that," I muttered a little loudly so they could all hear me.

I was fiddling around with my fingers a lot as I said this.

"Yeah we should," Noya said.

Non-Stop Debate: Start!

Truth bullet: Monokuma File 2 has been equipped

Minami: Well it seems like Daisy has a lot of burn marks on her

Ash: So are you saying that's how she died!

Kazuichi: I mean she's on the right path with the burn marks

Minami: Yeah since there is no other way to know how she died so she must have died from the burn marks

Mukuro: It takes a while to die from burn marks. Are you sure that's how she died

Minami: Well what else did she die from

>There's something that caught me off guard with her cause of death. I think I need to bring that up.

[Truth bullet:  Monokuma File 2. Use on no other way to know.]

[Break!]

"Actually no. According to the Monokuma File, Daisy didn't die from her burn marks. She died from drowning," I explained.

"Huh? She drowned? But where would she drown?" Minami asked.

Truth bullet selected —> Running water

This should prove it!

"Isabelle found the sink running with water. The sink has to be the murder weapon in this case," I explained.

"Yeah and I had to turn it off because it would be a waste of water," Isabelle added on.

"So that must mean someone had to hold her down in the sink while the water was still running," Ash said.

"Yes actually but how would she get the burn marks all of a sudden?" Mukuro asked.

"Maybe she got caught off guard or the culprit was originally going to kill her with her burn marks but then realized that it took too long so they decided to drown her?" Noya suggested.

"But then it wouldn't explain how she got that if burn marks was the original murder plan," Hibiki said.

"That? Oh you mean...,"

Truth bullet selected —> Cuts on wrist

I got it!

"The cuts on her wrists?" I asked and Hibiki nodded.

"How did she get those if burn marks were originally going to be her murder weapon?" Hibiki wondered.

"Well maybe she got attacked," I said.

"Attacked by what?" Papyrus asked.

Truth bullet selected —> Burn Mark on Back

I got it!

"Turning her over reveals a burn mark on her back. Either she fell on something burning on her back or she got hit by something burning," I explained.

"Yeah and when I turned her over, she had a really large burn mark as well so it had to be something big," Susie added on.

"So Daisy was attacked before the culprit held her head in to drown. I see," Mukuro noted.

"Well how did she get attacked? And where did the burn marks come from?" Ash asked.

Truth bullet selected —> Stove

I got it!

"The stove. The burn marks came from the stove. But I'm confused on how the f*ck is that possible though. Did they trip her or something?" I wondered.

"Well maybe they caught her off guard," Lloyd suggested.

"All of this maybe talk is getting us nowhere. We have to be sure that's what really happened," Ed pointed out.

Annabeth sighed, "He does have a point."

Non-Stop Debate: Start!

Truth bullet: Drop of blood has been equipped

Ed: We can't keep on saying maybe and maybe. We have to know the full story

Mukuro: But there is relatively less clues than last time. How can we be sure of the full story

Kazuichi: Well the end of the class trial always seems to be the strongest point

Leafpool: We can't focus on the future too much especially in this. We have to focus on what we have now

Lloyd: She's right. So about the stove

Ed: Obviously there has be to a clue related to how she got the burns and the stove

Hibiki: Yeah but all I saw was Daisy's crown

Ed: Well we can't use that as a clue on how the stove was involved

Hibiki: yeah....

>Hang on! I remember seeing something else besides Daisy's crown. Yeah it was hidden!

[Truth bullet: Drop of blood. Use on all I saw was Daisy's crown.]

[Break!]

"When I went to investigate the stove after seeing Daisy's crown, I noticed a drop of blood on there. Daisy, as we said before, had cuts on her wrists so if she had fell on the stove, not only will that explain why that drop of blood was there but also why she has those burn marks," I explained.

"Also I nearly burned myself with her crown. It's possible that her crown had to be involved as well but not as much as the stove. The stove must be the leading factor!" Hibiki noted.

"The one thing that bothers me is how did she get the burn mark on her back," Ed said.

"Maybe Susie was lying when she said that she turned Daisy's over to look at the burn mark," Minami suggested.

"The f*ck No! Tommy was there when I turned her over, how could I lie directly to his face about that," Susie pointed out.

"Also, according to the Monokuma File, it does state that she had a burn mark on her back so it's obviously true," Leafpool added on.

"Hmm, I understand that now. But I wonder how did Daisy get the cuts on her wrists?" Minami wondered.

"They looked fresh so we can rule out the possibility that she had those beforehand," Annabeth explained.

"Daisy doesn't seem the type of person to...you know...," Noya said before trailing off.

There was an awkward silence between us after he said that.

"So the culprit attacked Daisy first with whatever caused the cuts on her wrists before attacking her back which caused her to fall onto the stove before drowning her. That sounds like a lot," Isabelle

"Yeah but I think we should focus on one thing. The burn marks on her back. How did Daisy get that?" I asked.

"It's has to be her crown! It was the only thing there that could have done it!" Papyrus exclaimed.

"Well maybe but it's not the only thing there," Mami said.

"What do you mean? It's only the crown that could have done it," Papyrus pointed out.

"No I think she has a point. It's possible that her crown didn't cause the burn marks because nobody could pick it up due to the hot metal," I explained.

"I apologize for this human Tommy but I don't see how human Daisy's crown couldn't have done those burn marks on her back," Papyrus explained.

"This sh*t again?" I asked.

Well guess I have to do this now, I thought while a drop of sweat rolled down my forehead.

[Rebuttal Showdown: Start!]

Truth blade: Toaster has been equipped

Papyrus: The crown was warmed up enough so that if it was thrown at human Daisy, it would be enough to make burn marks on her back! It makes sense of course!

[Advance]

Tommy: But when Hibiki tried to pick it up, the hot metal burned him. There isn't any evidence that it was thrown or that the culprit used something to hide their hands from being burned. Sorry to say but the crown is not the reason why Daisy has those marks on her back

Papyrus: Hold it there human Tommy! I'm not done yet. It's possible that the culprit did use something to prevent themselves from being burned. Then after throwing the crown, they place it on the stove to heat it up more so human Hibiki couldn't pick it up. Like I said, it has to be the crown for there is no other object that can cause it and that's final! Nyeh heh heh heh heh!

>No other object that can cause it? I'm pretty sure I saw something else that could have cause it but what was it again?

[Truth blade: Toaster. Use on no other object that can cause it ]

[Break!]

"There was something else in the crime scene. A messed up toaster. I believe that the toaster was the one to have create those burn marks on her back," I said.

"Uwahhh?! A toaster? But how?" Ash asked.

"Ever heard of placing a fork in a toaster? I guess it's something like that," Susie explained.

"While Daisy got most of her burns because of the stove, it's possible that the toaster, after generating enough electricity, was thrown at Daisy's back and caused the marks on it. Then the culprit shoved Daisy's head into the sink where the running water was and killed her," Annabeth explained.

"So we got that down but mind if we retreat back to the cuts on her wrists? How did she get those?" Isabelle asked.

It might be because of this, I thought.

This has to be it!

[Break!]

"It has to be one of the knifes. I found one that had the tip covered in blood," I said.

"Ah I get it now!" Kazuichi exclaimed.

"What do you get?" Leafpool asked.

"So the culprit must have tried to attack Daisy with the knife first but that didn't work out so they resorted to generating electricity to the toaster and throwing it at her back, causing her to fall onto the stove gaining her burns. But she still hasn't died yet so the culprit held her down in the sink until she drowned. Then they just left her there? I guess," Kazuichi explained.

Well then. That about sums it up, I thought, leaning on my podium.

"Well that does make sense but why is a knife suddenly being brought up in the discussion? We didn't find a knife while investigation," Mukuro said.

F*ck! I forgot to tell them where I found the knife. What a dumba*s mistake! I thought angrily.

[Non-Stop Debate: Start!]

Truth bullet: Vent has been equipped

Hibiki: True, we have seen anything like that while investigation

Susie: Yeah who even brought up the idea of a f*cking knife

Ash: I don't know! What if there is no knife at all!

Mami: Then we're stuck on one part

Leafpool: It's possible that the culprit hid it somewhere. Besides, if we don't include the knife, we'll never know what caused those cuts on her wrists

Ed: That's unfortunately true. Damn either this culprit is smart or we just haven't looked far enough

Susie: I'm sure we did a good job on our investigation

Minami: I really doubt it though

Annabeth: How dare you

>Wait, the culprit did what again? If I can hear it again, then I know where this will fit!

[Truth bullet: Vent. Use on the culprit hid it somewhere.]

[Break!]

"Ok weird thing that happened. So before the body announcement happened, I was in the boys changing room and before I was about to leave, I heard some noises from above. The vents and I stupidly called out to whoever was up there and they must have ran off. I chased them to the hallway where the theater and kitchen are connected. Then the body discovery announcement happened and I went to where the crime scene was," I explained.

"Ok so vents. What does this have to do with the knife?" Ed asked, folding his arms and raising an eyebrow.

"I was getting to that d*ckhead. During the investigation, I went back to the vents to check it out. I went in and saw a knife with a bloody tip. Safe to say that the culprit placed it here to hide it," I explained.

"And you went in the vent all by yourself. Must have been hard to crawl through," Ash said.

"Unfortunately," I grumbled.

"So we know that the culprit used the vents to move from place to place and hide one of the weapons used in the murder of Daisy. Good we have that down but now we have to know who killed her," Annabeth pointed out.

"Yeah, we finally connected the dots on how. Now we need to know who," Mukuro said.

"But where should we start?" Kazuichi asked.

"So who last saw human Daisy?" Papyrus asked.

Most eyes turned to Mami who shrunk back at their gaze.

"It wasn't me. I didn't see her last," she explained.

"But you're always hanging around her. Practically inseparable," Ed noted.

"True. Besides you were also there at the pool. Maybe you saw where Daisy was before the culprit got to her," Isabelle said kindly.

Mami shook her head rapidly.

"No no. I stayed behind with everyone else left in the pool. Daisy left early, promise," she explained.

Mami being the last person to see Daisy before the culprit killed her doesn't add up with something that I heard during the investigation. Hmm, I thought.

[Non-Stop Debate: Start!]

Truth bullet: Leafpool's account has been equipped

Mami: I didn't see Daisy after she left. I went to talk with Lloyd afterwards when most of us left

Lloyd: I can actually vouch for this. Mami was all alone when I went over to talk with her

Ed: Look I'm not saying that you're the culprit. I'm just saying that if you saw or heard something from Daisy

Mami: no

Kazuichi: F*ck, we don't have any leads other than Mami's

Papyrus: Are we stuck?

Kazuichi: Man and we were doing so good as well

>We can't give up. I think there is a lead somewhere

[Truth bullet: Leafpool's account. Use on don't have any leads other than Mami's.]

[Break!]

"Actually someone else saw Daisy before she died," I said.

"Really who?" Kazuichi asked.

"It's Leafpool. She saw her last and she noticed something off before she left. Right?" I asked, turning to her.

"Yes. Daisy and I left the pool together but we went our separate ways. Before I left however, I overheard her talking with someone. Something about her helping them in the kitchen," Leafpool explained.

"And you didn't question it?" Ed asked.

"W-well no. It didn't cross my mind that they wanted to kill Daisy. I should have known better!" Leafpool wailed.

What if when Leafpool and Daisy left together, there were still some people left in the pool before they left. And before I woke up, I thought as Leafpool was calming herself down.

After Leafpool calmed herself, I took a deep breath to ask a difficult question.

Truth bullet selected —> Daisy's disappearance

This should prove it!

"So who was left in the pool when Daisy and Leafpool left?" I asked.

"What do you mean by that?" Ash asked.

"I think he means that when we last saw Daisy alive, the culprit must have been at the pool and they left to follow them. You didn't happen to see anyone else did you Leafpool?" Annabeth asked but Leafpool shook her head.

"I didn't hear nor saw anyone else. They must have been real sneaky in following us before talking to Daisy," Leafpool noted.

"Ok but how do we know they were from the pool?" Ash asked.

Truth bullet selected —> Puddle of water

I got it!

"Hey Ed, didn't you find a puddle of water at the crime scene?" I asked.

"Hmm? Yeah, I thought it came from the running water but are you saying that it actually came from the pool?" Ed asked.

"Could be from both," I sighed.

Damn, I knew we'd hit some roadblocks but I still can't figure out who's the culprit. Wait! I still need to bring this up, this can help! I thought.

Class Trial: Postponed

A/N: yeah this is a little shorter than last trial but don't worry, will still have plenty of information.

Let me know if you think you know who the culprit is.

I lost my pen so the next chapter may be delayed due to the art (unless I find it today) so there's that.
