Chapter fourteen
~Y/N POV~
Another week has come and gone. Yoongi and I spend a lot of time together so it seems and that after work he even ends up staying long after Minji goes to bed and we just watch movies or just talk about anything really. Just like we always have done, our conversation always flows once it starts up and yet I couldn't be more happier than that. We're getting on a lot better than I thought we would when I seen him for the first time after all these years.
My love for him however is still there but I'm unsure if he feels the same way. I'm scared to bring that up to him just in case he turns me down. For all I know he could just be acting this way with me because of our past together and that we share a daughter who absolutely loves him by the way. I think soon enough she would be okay to spend one on one time with him without me being around but when that happens will everything change between Yoongi and I? I don't know but we'll have to see.
Yoongi gave me a day off because he had some sort of meeting with his dad and I wasn't so sure of leaving him alone with his dad especially if I knew his step mother was going to be around, that evil sick woman. I don't know how he managed to face her for the last six years but I swear if I ever get a chance I'll punch her in the face. Disgusting woman. So I had the day to do whatever with Minji after school and I made plans to meet up with my other cousin Taehyung who I haven't seen in a while because he's been so busy with work. Just like his older brother Namjoon, Taehyung too is a business lawyer and works for a different company and so when I text him yesterday to see how he is he mentioned he was free today so here we are.
Minji and I at the park waiting for Taehyung to come and join us like planned. I was looking forward to seeing him again since it's been months. Growing up I was closer to Taehyung than Namjoon but that could be because we're more closer in age even if he is two years older than me. The amount of time Taehyung got me out of trouble from my parents beatings and tried to help me as much as he could at the time before I ran away I'll never forget. He even use to call the police or child protective services to check on me when he would call in anonymously but obviously nothing came of it because in the end I still ran away from home because nothing was done but if I hadn't of ran away from home I never would of formed that bond that I have with Yoongi and never had my daughter who I love with every being in my heart.
Taehyung was running a little late but that was okay, he already text me saying the traffic was terrible but he was on his way and Minji was quite happy playing on the slide with another little girl around about the same age while I sat on the bench watching from a reasonable distance.
"Hey Y/n, I'm sorry I was late."
I gasped in surprised to hear my cousins voice and stood up to hug him before we both sat down together.
"It's okay. You're here now."
He nodded and looked over to the group of kids playing.
"So where is she? I cant see her." Taehyung
He squinted his eyes trying to see her through the group of children as there was a few children now playing in the park today.
"There, the one with the red coat on and yellow hat."
I pointed to my daughter just sliding down the slide with her little friend following behind. Taehyunsg eyes widen when he finds her and leans back against his seat on the bench next to me.
"Ah there she is. She's getting big. It's amazing how four months makes a difference which I'm sorry about by the way." Taehyung
He wrapped his arm around my shoulder and pulled me in for a side hug which I gladly accept.
"No need to be sorry, you've been working it's fine."
"You're too understanding Y/n. Oh! Yeah Namjoon told me you're working with Yoongi, hows that going for you?" Taehyung
He teasingly wiggles his brows at me and I nudged him back with a chuckle.
"Its nothing much. Just working together and he's getting to know Minji so everything is just fine."
Taehyung raised a brow when I looked up at him to and forced at grin. He hummed at me, not believing everything I was saying.
"There's more Y/n, I can tell. I already know anyway, Namjoon has been keeping me up to date with your day to day activities." Taehyung
I laughed at him and he even let out a laugh to laugh at himself for what he said.
"Jeez, does he tell you everything I do?"
Taehyung nods quickly, a little pout forms on his lips.
"Yes, you can say that he does but that's because I need to know what my little cousin is doing. I still worry about you, you know?" Taehyung
I patted his leg and nodded, looking up a head to see Minji still hasn't noticed that Taehyungs here and still busy with that little girl on the climbing frame shaped like a castle.
"You don't need to Tae, I'm fine."
"Oh I know, Yoongi is here to look after you now. Oh! Which reminds me, you and I may be seeing each other a lot more because my boss is in the middle of making a business deal with yours. Well your baby daddy." Taehyung
I gasped and slapped him across the arm, making him laugh but rub his now sore arm.
"Stop it will you? And I know, Namjoon told me this morning so Ha! He tells me stuff too! In your face!"
I stuck out my tongue to him and he giggles and stuck his tongue back out to me cheekily. I love our relationship, it's so playful and he always puts me in a good mood. I'm actually excited that I'll be seeing more of him.
Silence came between us and I went back to watching Minji now run towards the swings and sit in the chair no problem. My daughter no longer needs assistance on the swings as she can now do it herself.
"By the way Y/n have you ever thought about contacting him? You know?" Taehyung
I sighed to myself and I could feel Taehyungs eyes on me from the side of my face and I looked down to my feet.
"I don't want to contact him Tae. I know you and Namjoon want me to but I don't need him. He made his chose to walk out my life so that's that. No going back."
"But what if he wants to see you or even talk to you and explain?" Taehyung
I scrunched up my face in distaste to that thought and looked at him but he was unfazed by my look.
"Did he tell you he wants to speak to me? After all these years, NOW, he wants to speak to me and make things right?"
"Yes he did. He wants to explain some things to you Y/n and I think you should hear him out. I think it's important that you do." Taehyung
I searched for any expression in his face but I found nothing. He was blank as he always is when he speaks to me about my brother but I think that is because he doesn't like to take sides and show his true feelings to it. I could only imagine doing the same thing to my brother.
"I don't know Taehyung but I'll think about it. If he's going to think I'll ever forgive him for leaving me in that hell hole he's got another thing coming."
"Okay, at least think about it." Taehyung
"TAETAE!!" Minji
Finally she noticed.
Both Taehyung and I looked over to the direction of her voice and see her running over to us, arms spread wide for him as Taehyung stood up from the bench just in time for Minji to run into him and hug his legs before he moved and squatted down to her level to hug her properly.
"Hey squirt, I missed you." Taehyung
He pinched her cheek after their shared hug and she giggled just to pinch his back and make him laugh.
"I missed you too Taetae! Come play with me!!" Minji
She grabbed his hand and tugged on it making him stand up when he looked at me as if asking for permission but I just smiled and waved them off.
"Just go play. Let that inner child out Taehyung."
Taehyung let out a laugh and Minji then started to pull him towards the swings again while I sat on the bench watching the two of them play. Minji certainly has her own relationship with Taehyung. To her Namjoon is the strict cousin that works a lot while Taehyung is the care free yet playful cousin. Either way she loves them both but even if she hasn't known Yoongi that long, I can see that Minji is growing deeply more attached to Yoongi which warms my heart to think about.
Their father, daughter bond is already so special and I cant wait to see it grow in time.
