Chapter 23 - QSDT
Pov Aizawa
"Morning sunshine" Toya sighed, placing a coffee on my desk. I glanced up at him as he walked over to his desk not so far from mine, drinking from another cup of coffee. Now that his class was back, he started teaching again. Even though a lot of them turned out quirkless after the rescue, they were currently still in the hero course. We've tried contacting Bakugou so Eri could try and fix it but nobody has seen him since he left the hospital after the mission.
"You seem upset" I stated.
"My boyfriend is who knows where, my class is traumatized and being targeted by quirk discrimination, my life couldn't get any better" Todoroki answered, not looking at me.
"Besides, I'm not sure if I'll work here much longer anymore either. You know the deal right? The cure is almost finished so soon he'll have full control over me..."
That's right. If Midoriya managed to fix his problem, Toya would join the D.E.K.U. ... If that was the case, Midoriya could easily demand him to pull out of the hero life and become a full fledged member.
"Let's not think about that right now" I sighed.
"Also, I've wanted to ask you how you're going to deal with your class right now. It wouldn't be responsible to just give them hero training like nothing happened"
"I know. That's why they'll be getting basic self defence training! It's also useful for those who haven't lost their quirks in case they come into a situation where they can't use their powers at all"
I hummed, sipping from my coffee as both Mic and Midnight entered the room. Nemuri went over to Toya, asking him about the basic self defence training he was planning on doing. While Mic sat down at his desk next to mine, complaining about having too many tests to correct and begging me to help him.
Luckily I was saved by the bell as my phone rang. Unknown number. I frowned, answering the call anyway.
"Aizawa Shouta" I stated on a bored tone, standing up, making Mic whine.
"H-hey uncle Shouta... It's me, Hitoshi"
I froze up at hearing his voice. Well, seems like Midoriya really did keep his word after all... It shouldn't surprise me. The Green Reaper always keeps his promises. I quickly left the room, starting to walk through the hallway as I answered.
"Hey, it's uh... It's nice to hear from you"
"Yeah, uhm, Izuku said you uh wanted to meet up?" he asked, also a little unsure about this conversation.
"I just want to talk to you, that's all" I sighed, coming to a stand still in front of the giant windows in the hallway, staring outside.
"It's been so long... I've still got many questions left unanswered"
"I-I understand that... You, uhm, y-you can come with Toya to HQ if you want... Izuku is going to finish the serum soon so he'll be asked to come any day now"
"Oh... Okay, I'll... I'll see you then? In a few days"
"I'm sorry uncle Shouta. It's not like I don't trust you but I-I'd rather do this on my terrain so uh yes, in a few days, until the cure is finished... A-and Denki will be there to, just so you know"
"That's alright, I don't mind your precautions. I'd do the same" I sighed, glancing around to see Cementos walking down the hall.
"I have to go now, but I'll see you soon"
"Yes, bye uncle Shouta"
Cementos gave me a questioning gaze as I put my phone away, sighing.
"They still haven't found Bakugou yet, let alone Eri. Seriously, where has he disappeared to all of the sudden?"
"I'm sure he'll resurface eventually" Cementos said as we walked back to the teacher's lounge. Classes are about to start so I better prepare for the hero training of class 1-A. I hope Toya has everything worked out for 2-B as well... Those kids aren't going to be in the mood for all this after what happened so he better finds a way to motivate them.
Pov Midoriya
Today was our first day of school after the whole kidnapping deal. My class is pretty shaken up about it still. It almost made me laugh. I mean, do they realise what the class of 1-A from five years back went through? This shit was nothing! I didn't say anything about that though, silently watching the class dynamic crumbling down.
"You're lucky, you know that Suzuki?"
"Huh?" I asked, turning my head towards Yaruki, one of the guys from my class. He had a pretty offensive quirk. Key word: had. I took it away from him for being a quirkless hating asshole. Call it karma, call it revenge, I don't care. That guy got what he deserved.
"You had nothing to lose to begin with! I swear, once I get my quirk back I'll beat that son of a bitch!"
"Yaruki, I'm sorry to say this, but your quirk was erased permanently. It's not like a strained muscle you can recover from" I stated, making him slap his hand down on my desk.
"Shut the hell up you quirkless hero wannabe!"
"That's enough Yaruki!" Kato hissed, pushing the bully away from me.
"You're a sore loser, you know that? You're not the only one who's been robbed of their quirk so don't go around acting like a damn baby!"
"You've got it easy talking! You still have your stupid quirk!"
"THAT'S ENOUGH!"
Everyone froze up as Todoroki sensei's voice boomed through the classroom and the door slammed shut, causing people the scatter to their places like their lives depended on it.
"I get that you're all stressed and don't know how to handle the aftermath of the situation. It's not like I know what you all went through so I won't try to understand either"
Hmph, he did kidnap Kacchan in our first year though...
"So today we'll beat the lingering frustration out of you and boost your confidence again" he continued, grabbing some chalk and starting to write on the board.
Quirkless Self Defence Training - QSDT
Oh, I get it! Every quirkless gets taught basic self defence in middle school so they're not helpless against other people. Kids with weak quirks get it too. But I guess none of the hero course students have ever been considered to take such classes since they obviously have to have strong quirks to even get into the hero course. I could see by the looks on their faces that some had never even heard of it.
"QSDT is a government funded project to teach people without quirks or people with weaker quirks to defend themselves against minor threats" Toya explained.
"We're currently working on solving the issue but since we don't know how long that's gonna take, we'll start doing this"
"How do you plan on solving this, Todoroki sensei? I thought only the Green Reaper has the power to take and give quirks?" Tokeru asked while her hand was raised. People thought it was part of my quirk since my dad had something similar. Little do they know I'm a man of science and I can genetically alter whatever I like.
"I'm sure you've heard of Eri Bakugou, Ground Zero's daughter, her quirk is rewind" Toya started, making my eyes widen.
"It is possible she could rewind your bodies to a state where you still had your quirk, thus returning it to you. Unfortunately it seems that we can't track down Ground Zero or any of his children at the moment but we're working on it"
Wait what? Kacchan went MIA?! Why is this the first thing I hear about this?! How long have they been trying to contact him?! Maybe he's just out on a long mission... Yeah, that must be it! But then where did his kids go..? It makes no sense at all!
Todoroki frowned as he saw my reaction. He must've thought I had something to do with it but I'm certain the union isn't involved in this. Everyone knows not to mess with my Kacchan! Oh no, what if something happened to them?! I'd never forgive myself for being so irresponsible! I quickly grabbed my phone as Toya continued to explain what the training was about.
Not like I didn't hear this whole talk before. I texted Shoto, telling him to track down Katsuki's whereabouts. He didn't ask why, just that he'd do it. Ah, just like I trained him! Okay, with the union on the case I'm feeling a little bit more at ease.
"Alright, that's the theoretical side. Go pull on your sportuniform and meet me at gym gamma" Toya stated. With that people started moving and we made our way over to the locker room. Everyone changed rather quickly and headed out but I lingered in the room for a while, my thoughts somewhere else. I'm still worried about Kacchan...
"Oi quirkless!"
I rolled my eyes, turning around to face Yaruki. Honestly he's never been that involved in me. He normally just ignores me and I never saw a reason to talk to him anyway. Why is he suddenly acting so stuck up?
"Don't think we're equal now, loser. I'm still better than you" he hissed, pushing me against the lockers. I groaned from the impact, glaring at him.
"Let me go, bastard" I growled, pushing him off and tackling him to the ground, pinning him down.
"I've been quirkless my whole damn life. You really thought you'd still be stronger than me? Don't make me laugh!"
I placed my hands around his neck, putting pressure on his throat. It's been a while since I killed anyone... Surely without using my quirk. He started choking, begging for me to stop. That's right, beg you asshole. I leaned down, my mouth next to his ear and a smirk on my lips.
"I'll let you in on a little secret Yaruki~ Suzuki Itsuki isn't my real name, you see" I grinned, seeing him tear up.
"My name is Midoriya Izuku, but I'm more famous under the name of the Green Reaper~"
I saw fear in his eyes as he struggled to get free. I wasn't giving him any room though.
"You should consider it an honour I'm willing to kill you like this, you know? Or rather, you're lucky I can't use my quirk at school... Hmm, at least it won't get a bloody mess this way, right? I'd hate to ruin my uniform with your blood and having to explain it to Todoroki sensei"
His struggling got weaker and his eyes rolled back. I kept the pressure on for a few more moments, making sure he was definitely dead.
Sighing, I got up from the ground. Now, what to do with his corpse? I don't need to worry about camera's in the changing room but I couldn't exactly drag him out here with me... Oh, I know! I'll put him in a toilet stall! There shouldn't be camera's and I could lock the stall and crawl out of it no problem! I heaved up the body, dragging it with me into the bathroom and placing him down on the seat before locking the door and escaping from the stall. Ugh, I really spend too much time on this!
I quickly made my way to gym gamma, panting a little as I arrived.
"Dude, you okay? You took a while" Kato stated.
"Y-yeah, I'm good... Had a little uh run in with Yaruki, that's all" I said with a weak smile.
"Suzuki! You're late! And where is Yaruki?!" Toya yelled towards us, standing on the other side of the pack of children.
"Oh, uh, he's going to the bathroom but he'll be right here!" I lied.
"Hm" Toya hummed, squinting his eyes. He knew I wasn't telling the truth but didn't press the matter either.
"Alright, Suzuki, since you're late and you've already followed these classes, you'll be my help for today" he stated, pulling me to the front.
"Partner up everyone! I'll demonstrate the first basic movements on Suzuki and want you to practice on each other, okay? Now pay close attention-"
Toya attacked me and I blocked it, using his own strength against him and twisting his arm by holding it behind his back and pushing him down on the ground.
"Very fluent" he groaned as I let go.
"Alright! Just do what Suzuki did! I want all of you guys to master this movement by lunch at last, okay?"
"Yes Todoroki sensei" the class sighed, paring up and starting to spar.
I paired up with Suru, letting her tackle me to the ground a few times. Since her quirk is so similar to mine, I'd thought about taking it away from her. But she doesn't deserve it. Such a kind hearted yet silent person, someone the class accepted without so much as a word. She grew on me as well. She's also the only one who dared attack me when I was outed last week. Stupidly brave, but I guess that's a characteristic of a hero, isn't it?
