Chapter 2 - Adjusting

Pov Midoriya
I strolled through the base, seeing a lot had changed over the course of the years. Shoto had given me a D.E.K.U. hoodie and some new clothes so I could roam the halls a bit to think about what he had told me. Kacchan has a family... He has kids now. Adopted, but still. Huh, I never saw him as a kids person to be honest but I guess you'll never know what life throws on your path. I'm sure he's happy though.

I mean, he looked happy, right? And he still has his friends, or at least Kirishima. I sighed, closing my eyes for a moment. Things are moving fast, aren't they? Then again, 5 years have passed... Suddenly I bumped into someone, blinking with my eyes in confusion.
"Oh, I-I'm sorry, I didn't mean to-"
"Oi! Who do you think you are?!" the man yelled aggressively, glaring at me. I didn't recognize him. He must've been recruited somewhere in the past 5 years.

He saw my clothes and scoffed.
"You're just a dumb newbie, aren't you? What? Lost? Can't speak now that you're facing the real deal?"
"No, that's not it, I-"
"Shut up! A pipsqueak like you will never make it in this world anyways! I bet you'll die if they ever send you out on a real mission"
After that he just laughed and I frowned, pulling down my hood.

"A pipsqueak like me, huh?"

He looked down, ceasing his laughter instantly as he now recognized who I was. Of course he does, I'm the Green Reaper after all~
"I'll never make it, you say?"
With that I let my green glow take over my body, letting my eyes and hair light up.
"Cause after all, I'm just a dumb newbie, right?"
I started floating a bit as I said that, enjoying the terrified look in his eyes.

Yes, fear me you arrogant asshole!

"There's no place for people like you in my world"
He started running, screaming and crying. I simply chuckled as I tilted my head, making him drop dead on the floor in an instant. Snapped his neck, just like that.
"I've still got it" I grinned, pulling my hood back on and strolling over to the corpse. Hmm, I should tell Todoroki-kun so he can take care of this mess...

I also need to re-evaluate every member of the union if this is what's been gong on while I was away. Good grief Shoto! I thought the D.E.K.U. was in good hands with you! Yet this fucking moron managed to crawl his way in? I kicked his lifeless body, humming to myself.

"Don't move! Hands where we can see them!"

I sighed, turning around with my hands still in the pouch of the hoodie. My glow had faded some time ago and I was back to being incognito. Glancing back at the body, I guess this it only a natural reaction. In front of me stood three lower ranked members of the union. How could I tell? Well, they were wearing the standardized union uniform, not a personal costume like the higher ups wore.

One woman, two men. One of the males seemed on the young side, about my age I'd say. It was only a guess though because I couldn't see that much through their masks and disguises.
"Hands where we can see them!" the oldest man shouted again and I rolled my eyes.
"I'd listen if I were you" another, more familiair, voice spoke. I smiled, turning around to see Kaminari Denki in his full blown villain costume, minus the mask. So Black-Out was still a part of the union huh? Nice to know...

"There is no need for violence, Kami-kun" I chuckled, seeing his eyes widen. He signed the other recruits to stand down, leaving them confused. Why would they let someone escape who just murdered one of their members?! The electric blonde also eyed the corpse with a questioning gaze as he walked up to me.
"He was a jerk"
"Oh, I know, I didn't like him either" Kaminari shrugged with a small smile.

"Oi! You three! Make yourself useful and deposit of this dude"
"But sir, what about the intruder?" the woman asked in shock.
"This man is far from an intruder, believe me" Denki stated.
"Ain't that right boss?"
The three underlings froze up as Kami and I laughed while I took off my hood.
"It'll take some time for me to root out all the rotten vines that crawled in while I was gone, but I'm sure the Sho has everything under control. So I won't be taking on the boss title quite yet"

"Y-you're... You're the Green Reaper!" the youngest male gasped.
"Correct!" I smiled, clapping my hands together.
"Now please be so kind as to get rid of this corpse, okay? Kami-kun, is Oshi in the base? It feels like years since I saw him!"
We laughed again as the three lower ranked members stared at me in shock.
"You really didn't change a bit, did you? Well, come one, I'll show you to Hitoshi's quarters" Denki smiled, letting his hand rest on my shoulder.

He was taller than me now, much taller. His hair was still a bright yellow mess though, black streaks barely dominating the electrifying blond. His eyes still held that happy shine in them, a happiness that pulled people in. I'm glad some things never change.

Pov Bakugou
The brats got their stuff as I walked over to Kirishima, seeing him snoring with his child on his stomach. I rolled my eyes, carefully taking the baby off of him, holding her steadily against my chest, supported by one arm while the other rested upon Shitty Hair's chest.
"Time to wake up hair for brains" I muttered, setting off a small explosion.
"Gah!" he shrieked awake, hardening himself instantly, ready to fight anyone who just woke him.

"Quiet down idiot! You're gonna wake her!" I whisper hissed, slamming him on the head.
"Ah... Hey Katsuki, already here huh?"
"I came as soon as I got your call" I sighed, handing him his daughter.
"Say, where is Ash? Isn't she supposed to be home by now?"
"Oh, she had some trouble dealing with a villain so she's stuck filling in rapports" the red head chuckled, scratching the back of his head while adjusting the small girl.

"And what about you Rosie? You miss your mommy yet?" he cooed, patting the messy redish pink hair. Ah yes, Rosa Kirishima, the daughter of Red Riot and Pinky. It was rather funny how they ended up together, you know. There was a goodbye party when we graduated and let's just say those two don't even remember hooking up in the slightest. Yet here they are, married, raising a child... And look at me, a single parent of two outcasts, chasing a love that I won't ever truly call mine, forced to be apart, on different sides of the coin.

"Dad!" Kota called out in a long dragging whine, standing at the door as Eri ran through the hall with her back bag.
"Oi, no running!" I hissed as she came to a standstill in front of us.
"I made this for you uncle Ei!" she smiled, handing him a piece of paper.
"What an amazing drawing Eri! I'm sure auntie Mina will love it as well" Kiri smiled ruffling her hair before I picked her up from the floor and walked over to Kota.

"Alright, say bye to uncle Ei, we're going" I grunted.
"Say bye Rosie" Kirishima chuckled, waving with her little hand as she slept on. I smiled and rolled my eyes, opening up the door as Eri waved enthusiastically and Kota walked behind me.
"Oh, and Katsuki-" Eijirou called out, giving me a determined look.
"Let's go visit him together next time, okay?"
I gave him a nod and shut the door.

"Uncle Ei knows?" Kota asked confused.
"I told him when we called earlier" I sighed, letting go of Eri so she could walk by herself. And why shouldn't I tell him? Kirishima is a part of the union now. One of D.E.K.U.'s elite undercover heroes. He even took One For All, a quirk once possessed by All Might. They don't just give away that quirk to anyone and not all of the candidates survive the adjustment either. Yet the red head insisted.

Stupid, reckless decision, really. I mean, raccoon eyes was pregnant at the time! He could've lost it all! Kota knew about this. He knew about all of it, about who was part of the union and which heroes were to be trusted. I know it's probably not very good parenting from my side, yet I can't help but involve him. He's been wanting to be a part of that union for as long as I've had him...

Eri, on the other hand, doesn't know everything. Of course she knows a few things, since it was the D.E.K.U. that originally set her rescue in motion. Yeah, you should've seen the faces of some heroes when Ace announced they wanted to assist them on saving the girl. I was one of the heroes who helped her and she quickly grew attached to me during the aftermath of that mission. She couldn't go to the union and she didn't have any other family left, so I took her in as my own. I already had Kota at that point but he didn't complain about having a sister.

"Oh... So when are you planning on going back? Can I come too?" he asked, a little hopeful.
"I don't know brat... The federation is finally starting to back off, I don't want them to get suspicious again"
"B-but-"
"No buts! I'm the adult here and you'll listen to me, got it? We'll go visit him, I promise, just not that soon"

"Visiting who?" Eri asked confused.
"An old friend of mine" I smiled, ruffling through her hair.
"Pfft, old friend, yeah right" Kota snorted before walking closer to Eri and whispering loudly.

"Dad has a boyfriend"

I facepalmed as she gasped, turning around to face me with big eyes.
"We're getting another daddy?!"
"No, that's not-" I started, only to be interrupted by her happy ranting.
"Daddy has a boyfriend! Daddy has a boyfriend! I wanna meet him!" she shouted.
"Is he nice? What does he look like? Oh, oh, oh! I wanna know his quirk! I bet it's crazy strong!"
"Yeah, you could say that..." I sighed, glaring a little at Kota, who had a smug look on his face.

Brat.

"Just don't tell anyone, okay? I wanna keep it a secret from the press" I lied, making Kota roll his eyes. 'Oh shut up' I mouthed to him, making him mouth 'Make me'. Ugh... I have a bad influence on children, that's for sure... Now I know how my dad must've felt.
"Okay! When am I gonna see him?" she asked.
"Uhm, I don't know Eri... He's a really busy man" I shrugged fastening my pace, wanting to get home as fast as possible. Talking about Izuku out on the streets like this was only asking for trouble anyways.

"No fair!" she pouted, making me roll my eyes.
"Ugh, can we stop talking about this? Rather tell me what you brats want for dinner or something"
"Can we get ramen?" Kota asked.
"Or curry?"
"Sure thing kid" I grinned, ruffling his hair, making him complain. The rest of the way home was spent talking about how their day at school went, yet I could still see Kota wanted to ask about Deku... Hmph, I'll tell him all about it after Eri has gone to sleep.

When we arrived at home, I started making dinner, talking to the brats about homework. After we ate, I helped Eri with her math and made sure Kota studied for his English test tomorrow. We watched some silly kids tv show together and I made sure Eri was in bed when her bedtime hit.
"Goodnight sweetie" I smiled, kissing her on her head as I tucked her in.
"Goodnight daddy!" she giggled, yawning as she turned in her bed, easily falling asleep.

I rolled my eyes with a small smile, silently walking out her room and carefully closing the door. When I got back to the living room, Kota was silently looking at his phone, his eyes glancing up at me for a second before going down again.
"When do you think he's gonna tell the world?"
"Kota, please, he just woke up. He needs time to adjust" I sighed, sitting down onto the couch and lowering the volume on the tv so it wouldn't disturb Eri.

"It's a lot to process, you know? He's been gone for 5 years and a lot happened during that time"
"Yeah, I guess... Do you think they told him he's a fake?"
I frowned, glaring at him.
"He's not fake, you damn brat. The fact they had to clone his body doesn't influence his mind, or did you forget?"
"I know... It's just... Do you think they told him? Do you think he cares?"

"Listen, I don't know what goes on in there, okay? I'm theoretically not even a member of that organisation. But knowing half-n-half, he probably won't hide the truth about how they found his body..."
I shivered at the thought alone, it had been a traumatic experience for everyone.
