Welcome to the memoirs of Matthew West, a notorious buccanner from the golden age of piracy.

The journal was uncovered only recently and edited highlights have been compiled in the following pages to construct a narrative set in the late Seventeenth Century.  

Younger readers should note that the following is a frank recollection of life on a Man-O'-War, which includes bad language, as well as scenes of a violent or sexual nature.  There may even be sea chanties.

Please note that as sections of West's memoirs are edited they will be made available for readers so that a clear narrative can be completed.
