Your POV

When you open your eyes, the first thing you notice is the pain in the right side of your head. It feels like one side of your skull has been split open.

"Did you have to kick her that hard?"

"Well excuse me for doing my job, just like you couldn't."

Henry's voice, followed by an unfamiliar female voice.

The second thing you notice is that you're lying face down on the cold, hard ground, your hands tied behind your back.

Bad, you think to yourself.

Your vision is blurred, and the vision in your right eye is almost completely obscured. Something warm and slightly sticky covers the right side of your face. Blood.

"Pathetic." you hear the female voice mutter.

Anger replaces your fear and confusion. Pathetic? You force your eyes open wider, blink a few times and try to move your legs. They don't respond. Now panic sets in, and you instinctually try to summon your powers.

Nothing happens.

"You won't be able to use your powers here. They introduced new security measures after you escaped before to make sure that it wouldn't happen again."

Ffion's voice now, unbearably smug. You wish you weren't on the same level as their shoes. Why aren't your powers working? How are they blocking them?

You strain to move your left arm, and one of your fingers twitches.

"She'll be here in a minute. Maybe get her up?" you hear the unfamiliar female voice say.

She?

You hear footsteps, still unable to see properly, and then you're being hauled upwards. Henry roughly deposits you in a chair and you slump to one side, unable to hold yourself up. Your hands are squashed uncomfortably behind your back.

It's only now that you remember you're in a dress, of all things to be kidnapped in. Your shoes are gone, and so is your bag.

Glaring forwards through your still very blurred left eye you see Henry returning to stand next to Ffion and the unfamiliar woman. The second he reaches her side she puts a hand around his waist, returning your stare.

Ah.

You find that you can move your facial muscles enough to smirk. The woman starts forward angrily, but Henry holds her back. She turns to stare at him in annoyance and removes her hand from around his waist.

It suddenly occurs to you that Maya isn't in the room. Then you hear footsteps, and you can see just well enough to see that the three agents in front of you stiffen slightly. Nervously. You strain, and manage to lift your head.

You wish that you could free a hand to wipe the blood from your right eye. It stings.

A tall, stern looking woman in high heels enters the room.

"This is her, is it?"

You can't help but feel indignant at the disappointment in her voice. She walks over to you and grasps your chin between her thumb and index finger, turning your head roughly so that you're looking at her. Her eyes are icy cold.

"Yes ma'am." the unfamiliar woman says.

"It was clearly a rhetorical question, Thea." the high-heeled lady snaps, releasing your chin and turning away.

"You two, I'm struggling to see how you failed to bring this girl to me sooner. Look at her." she continues, clearly addressing Henry and Ffion.

"She's stronger than she looks." Henry mutters. You feel a surge of satisfaction.

"Evidently not." the woman scorns. You try with all your strength to summon your powers, but still nothing happens. Which is a shame, because you'd quite like to put this high-heeled woman through the far wall. Along with Henry, Ffion and Thea.

"Put her with the rest of them. We shouldn't waste any time, I imagine SHIELD will be looking for her already."

How long has it been since you were taken? You think suddenly, forcefully, of Loki. Does he know you're gone? Surely he'll notice when you don't show up for work. The thought of him, and SHIELD, looking for you gives you a slight glimmer of hope.

Henry steps forward and yanks you to your feet; your legs almost give out but you manage to catch yourself. You're beginning to regain feeling in your limbs again, and as you stumble from the room next to Henry the feeling only grows.

"What is it that they're planning to do with me?" you ask him, your voice embarrassingly slurred. He ignores you.

"Hey." you shove him as hard as you can, which isn't really that hard in your current physical state.

"No games. Shut up." he says, shaking you roughly. You calm yourself down by thinking of punching him in the face.

You finally reach your destination, which seems to be a cell. It looks like a generic prison holding cell, and there are tonnes of them. You see slumped figures in some of them, but don't get more than a glance before you're shoved into one yourself.

Henry unties your hands, locks your cell door and leaves without another word. The minute he's gone you drop to the floor, massaging your wrists, exhausted by your short walk to get here.

It takes you little under ten minutes to decide that you're going to try and escape. You're the youngest SHIELD agent ever, and you're not going to just sit here and wait for whatever it is they're going to do to you to happen.

You stand up and shake out your limbs until you're sure you've regained feeling properly, and then wipe as much blood as you can off of your face with the side of your arm, which quickly gets covered in streaks of blood. Then you tentatively put your fingers to the wound in the side of your head.

Pain travels through your skull as you touch it, and your vision goes white for a second. You quickly remove your fingers, which are now covered in blood. You decide not to touch the wound again.

You need to try and get out of this cell. There's nothing in your cell apart from a bed with no covers and a rusty looking toilet and sink. Instead of looking in, you look out.

"Hello?" you ask the room softly, your voice croaky. There's no one in the cell opposite you, but you definitely saw some figures in the cells a few down from you.

"Hello?" you say again, louder, when there's no response.

"Hello?" a small voice replies suddenly. Your heart leaps.

"Hi, hi! What's your name?" you ask, clinging to the bars of your cell door.

"Y/N?" the voice asks in disbelief, the voice which you suddenly recognise.

"Maya?"

"It is you! I'd hoped they wouldn't catch you-" Maya says, sounding disappointed.

"What are you doing here? I mean –"

"Henry and Ffion tried to get me to join HYDRA after I was recruited along with them, but I refused. They've been HYDRA from the start; they always knew they'd be chosen as SHIELD recruits, but they didn't count on me being recruited." Maya tells you. Your head spins.

"After I said no, they drugged me and brought me here. They knew I'd sell them out if I stayed." she continues.

"They haven't done anything to you? Tested on you or anything?" you ask suddenly, worriedly.

"No. They took some blood, but that's all."

"Good. We need to get out of here." you say. A sudden burst of croaky laughter erupts from further down the row of cells.

"You're not getting out of here." a tired male voice says.

"Not with that attitude." Maya replies.

"Who's that?" you ask.

"James. He's very pessimistic." Maya tells you.

"What reason have we to be optimistic?" another voice asks, even further away and female this time.

"How many people are there in here?" you ask, your hopes rising by the second.

"There's James, Margo and Frankie. And us two. Tess was here too, but they took her yesterday and she hasn't come back..."

There's a very loud silence. Someone sniffs.

"How good are you all at unarmed combat?" you ask the silence.

"That's hardly relevant. We're all in locked cells." a female voice says, Margo or Frankie you presume.

"It'll be very relevant when we get out. Who here has powers?"

Everyone says 'me' apart from Maya.

"That's not relevant either though; we can't use them." James says grumpily.

"Yes, I had noticed," you reply. "How do they stop our powers from working, does anyone know?"

"I would imagine they have a large electromagnet, or something of the sort, which stops our powers from working." Margo or Frankie says.

"So if we can disable that somehow, our powers will work?" you ask.

"I should think so. Again, this is all completely irrelevant. We'd never get near enough to disable it, even if we knew how to go about doing that." James says.

"Well, I'm going to try. Anyone else who wants to get out of here is welcome to join me." you say stubbornly.

"I'll be happy to join you if you can get us out of these cells." Frankie or Margo says.

You fall silent, looking around your cell again. Your gaze falls upon the toilet flush, and you cross the cell and two short strides and set about ripping the flush out of the toilet.

It gives quite easily, and then you take it across to the cell door, where you reach your arm through a gap in the bars and start slamming the flush against the padlock as hard as you can. It kills your arm and shoulder, and makes a very loud smashing sound, but you keep at it until finally you feel a satisfying crunch and the padlock drops to the floor.

You swing your cell door open and wait for alarms to start blaring and red lights to begin flashing.

They don't.

You walk down to Maya's cell with the toilet flush, your only weapon, clutched in your hand.

"Hi." you say. She gapes at you, and you don't blame her. You're wearing a dress, you have no shoes on and you're covered in blood. And you're holding a toilet flush.

"Your head..." she says, wincing.

"I'm okay." you say, turning to see James, Frankie and Margo staring at you.

"Hello. I'm Y/N." you say.

James stares, but Margo and Frankie turn into their cells and start yanking their own flushes off their toilets. You set about getting the padlock off of Maya's cell.

"You'd think they'd have better security than this." you say to Maya as the padlock comes off easily in your hand.

"I know. It's a low level department from what I can tell, but it's still HYDRA." Maya says, stepping out of her cell and immediately grabbing you into a hug. You're caught off guard for a second, but hug her back.

"Thanks." she says, as she lets you go.

"My pleasure." you say, turning to see Frankie and Margo locked in a passionate embrace outside their two now open cells. James shakes his head as Maya takes your flush and moves to start breaking his padlock off.

"Leave me. I'll just slow you down."

"We're not leaving you here." Maya says, smashing his padlock with the flush. Margo, suddenly bright eyed and glowing after her short tryst with Frankie, turns and lobs her flush at a security camera which you hadn't noticed in one corner of the room.

It smashes immediately. You tense, but still no alarms go off, no lights flash.

"Right," Frankie says, apparently also now in a much better mood. "What's the plan?"
