The Good, the bad, and the painter

"Thank you Shiroya. For driving me to town." She said.
"Don't mention it. Or anything that happened today." He said.
"I won't."
"Where do you want me to drop you off?"
"Anywhere's fine."
He pulled over to a coffee shop. She got out of the car and waved goodbye to Shiroya. With her phone soaked she couldn't listen to music. Which really bummed her out. She began walking down the street as Shiroya pulled away. She thought about the make-out session Shiroya and her had. It broke her heart knowing that she probably wouldn't see him for a while. She wasn't paying any attention to where she was going. Untill she bumped into someone. A man with brown hair and brown eyes. He was wearing an old shirt with paint on it, jeans with paint on it, and colorful sneakers with paint on it. He was carrying paint brushes and buckets of paint.
"I'm so sorry sir." She said.
She didn't recognize where she was.
"Don't worry about it." He said.
He studied her. As if he were trying to solve something.
"You mind if I take a picture of you." He said.
"Uhhhh sure, I guess."
He took out his phone and snapped a couple pictures of Rosalie.
"Thanks. By the way what's your name?" He asked.
"Rosalie. What's yours."
"Riker. Do you have a phone?" He said.
"Yeah, but it's soaked."
"No problem easy fix."
"How is that an easy fix?"
"If you'll come to my place I'll show you."
"Alright."
She began to follow him down the street.
"You're very pretty. You know that right."
She never had anyone call her pretty except her family. Who had all been murdered one year ago that day.
"I....I guess not." She said.
"No-one has ever called you pretty before?"
"Not since my family died." She said.
He made a surprised face.
"I'm sorry I didn't know that." He said quickly.
"It's no big deal." She said.
"Ya know, I don't have a family either. They all died when I was young."
She put her hands over her mouth in shock.
"I feel so sorry for you." She said
"It's no big deal. Mind my language but they were dickheads and drug junkies. It was great to have someone not beat the shit out of me everyday."
"That most have been horrible." She said.
"It was. I think I said too much too fast."
She noticed that his arm was bandaged and that he had a patch on his forehead.
"Why is your arm and head bandaged?" She asked.
"I got into a fight a couple of days ago. Nothing big. Just a lot of bullies pickin a fight that's all. Anyway, my house is right around the corner."
"Okay." She said.
She followed him up the stairs of the front of an old house. Which had been painted in beautiful colors. He set the paint cans on the ground and unlocked the door.
"Ladies first." He said.
She smiled and walked in. It wasn't much. The furniture was old and faded. Infact the only furniture he had was a coach, a table, and two chairs. There was hardly any carpet. Just a bunch of sheets nailed down to the floor. The walls on the other hand were beautifully painted on. Patterns and pictures no-one could describe.
"I know it's not much. But its all I can afford." He said.
"Did you paint the walls?" She asked.
"Yeah. Do you like it?"
"Of course! This is amazing! How did you even think if this! Even Leonardo Da Vinci couldn't paint this!" She said with a big smile. She was so amazed by the wall paintings that she forgot why she came here. He closed the door while smiling wide at her.
"I'm glad you like it." He said. "Ya know. I wasn't expecting to fall in love today." He said.
She covered her mouth with her hands. He glanced at her from across the room and chuckled.
"Ya know, you make the cutest faces."
Her face grew red.
"Are you blushing. Oh my lord that's cute."
She took a couple steps back till she hit the wall. Things were moving way too fast for her. He set his paint and brushes down. Took out his phone a snapped a picture of her.
"D-Do you really love me?" She said.
"From the moon and back." He said.
She knew things were moving fast. She just met this guy. And now he said he loved her. Something was going on here. But she ignored it. She was so ready for love. She didn't want to feel broken anymore. She wanted a permanent relationship. Whoever that would be with. She hoped it was Riker. Riker walked up to her. He studied her.
"How about we fix your phone now."
"O-Okay." She said.
Eagerly she followed him to the kitchen. He poured some rice into a bowl.
"May I see your phone?" He said.
She gave him her phone. He took the battery out and placed the phone and the battery in the bowl.
"Now we wait for the rice to soak up the water. In the mean time, why don't you help me paint."
"Sure." She said.
"First I need to do something. But I have to leave the house. I'm trusting you to stay here and not snoop around. Okay?" He said.
"Okay. I promise I won't snoop and that I'll stay here."
"Good. I'll be back." He gave her a kiss on the forehead and left the house. Locking her in.
