Chapter 22 - The Truth...

- Saturday Morning -

I just woke up.

Oh, thank god it was all just a dre—

Nope! It wasn't!

I'm not in my bedroom! I'm in Austin's!

I look beside me, and Austin's half asleep, half awake.

"Hey, Sleeping beauty." He said in his groggy morning voice.

Aww. That's actually a pretty cute nickname, not going to lie.

"Hey, Cupcake." I said. He chuckled.

He hugged me.

I hugged him back.

"My parents already left for work. My parents have to work on the weekends, which sucks because I'm alone all the time." Austin said.

"Same." I said.

"Really?"

"Yeah. It's so annoying."

"Yep." He said.

I looked at the clock on the nightstand beside the bed.

"Yeah, my parents left already too. I should probably get going my brothers are probably wondering where I am. Since I've been gone for hours." I said.

"Okay." He said. "Do you want me to walk you home?"

"No, don't worry about it. I'm okay." I said.

I got up from the bed.

Then, I remembered I'm wearing Austin's T-shirt. "Oh, I forgot I was wearing you're T-shirt." I said. "Here, I'll go change." I said.

"No, no don't worry about it. I have plenty more. You can keep it," he said.

"Thanks," I said.

 "Of course."

Strange.

It's like he has two sides to him. One, is being happy and nice to me. And the other, is being a complete idiot, and bullying and abusing me.

"Here's a plastic bag, for you're other clothes." Austin said while handing me a plastic bag.

"Thanks." I said, as I took the bag and placed my clothes in it.

I decided not to change just because I'm lazy.

"I got to go, but I'll text you." I said.

"Okay, El." He said.

"Bye."

"Bye." He said.

He sounded kind of sad.

Was he sad I was leaving?

I walked out of his bedroom, and shut the door behind me.

I walked down stairs, and opened the front door, then I walked home.

I took a deep breath and then walked into my house.

My brothers all saw me, when I walked in.

"It's 10:30 in the morning, where were you all night?" Noah asked.

I didn't want to say that I slept with Austin. It was an accident.

I didn't respond to my brothers.

"Tell us where you were, or else." Max said.

"Or else what?" I said.

"Or else..." he began. But he couldn't think of anything.

"Or else we're telling mom and dad," Jack said.

All my brothers nodded.

I started breathing heavily.

I bit my lip.

They knew something happened.

They could tell I was nervous.

Don't tell them anything.

Don't open up to them.

They might hurt you again.

You can't trust them.

But, of course, my mouth didn't agree with my thoughts.

And the words just escaped my mouth.

"Fine. I slept with Austin," I said.

"What!?" Daniel shouted.

They all started shouting at me and each other.

"This is your fault, Noah, your the one who told her she could go!!" Max shouted.

"Ugh!" Jack said.

"You little brat! You're only 14 and a half. Why the hell would you do that?!" Noah shouted at me.

He started taking steps towards me. I took steps backward.

"I-I..."

I backed into the wall.

"You're such an attention seeker! I hate you!" Noah said. "You are just a fat, pathetic little girl. That's all you'll ever be. Nothing more."

I started crying.

I pushed past him and ran upstairs.

I slammed the door behind me, locked the door, and took out my scissors.

I separated the blades and began cutting.

Tears were streaming down my face.

I heard a knock on my door.

"What do you want?" I shouted.

"It's me." Noah said.

"Go away!"

"No." He said. "El, I'm so sorry. I didn't mean anything I said."

"Well, you still said it."

I continued cutting, and ignored him.

Then, eventually, I heard him walk away, sighing.

You know what? I'm done. I'm doing it....

I put my scissors down and just jumped out of the window.

And I ran. I ran like I've never run before.

I finally arrived at my destination. The Dare Death Bridge.

The bridge got its name because people commit suicide by jumping off of the bridge and into the water and rocks.

If people even dare to commit suicide.

I began walking up to the bridge.

I was now standing on the bridge.

Here it goes!

"3...2.."

"Stop!" Someone said.

I turned my attention to the person.

"Austin?"
