Namjoon's POV

"What...ever happened to your parents...?"

Those words digested in my mind, as I tried to remember the distant memory of my dear mom and dad.

Then it all came back to me, and a tear fell down my cheek.

"Oh my gosh, I'm sorry! I shouldn't have asked..."

Jin apologized, trying to comfort me.

"No no! It's ok. I just miss them... I'll tell you what I know.."

He nodded, and listened attentively.

⚘Flashback as I explain to Jin⚘

It was like any other day with my parents.

They were both hybrids, like myself. I was homeschooled by my dad, while my mom always helped us if she needed too. They always did their best to help me, since I was very sensitive at my young age. But, I didn't realize that all of their efforts were to keep me safe.

One morning, around five am, I heard a loud bang in another room. I shot up out of my sleep, and looked for my parents. They weren't in the room with me like they usually were. I was so scared.

I went to look for them, but then I heard my mom's screams, so I ran to the source. In the family room, a strange man was holding my mom by her throat, choking her.

I wanted to help her, but I couldn't move. I was frozen in place. Then my dad punched him hard across the face. He let her go, but...as she looked at me, with tears in her eyes, she said,

"Run..."

The man pulled the trigger.

And just like that, my mom was dead.

I was stuck in my position, as I saw my own mother being shot in front of me. My dad tried to restrain the man, but he pinned him against the wall by the throat.

"Pathetic"

The man said smirking.

My dad looked at me in fear.

"Save...yourself"

He started.

"Get out while you still can....., p-please..."

Then the man shot my dad as well.

My parents were dead, shot right in front of me. I sobbed as I stood there, unable to do anything.

"Your next, kitty"

The man threatened, coming towards me.

I obeyed my parents commands and I ran. I jumped out the window and dashed out of his sight, never looking back.

"THE NEXT TIME I CATCH YOU, YOU'RE DEAD!!"

The man yelled, laughing in the distance.

I ran and ran as tears clouded my eyes. I couldn't see where I was going, and I soon hit my head on a pole in front of me. I fell to the ground, tears falling from my face and my sobs filling the air. I never got to tell my parents I love them.... I couldn't save them...

"I-I'm s-sorry...."

I mumbled, as I slowly fell asleep.

Jin stared at me, handing me tissues.

I hadn't realized how much I was crying.

"That's all I can remember after hitting my head. Everything else is a blur..."

I said, wiping my eyes.

"I'm so sorry Joonie..."

Jin had tears of his own that he was wiping away.

"It's ok. But as for who attacked us today..."

I looked at Jin as he was sleeping.

"Who did this to you two.....?"

He asked, concerned.

"It was....., your dad..."

Jin just sat there with an expression I couldn't make out.

"That bastard....."

Jin was now boiling angry,

"When I get my hands on him.....".

"Don't, please..."

I pleaded.

"He wasn't alone. He had six of his friends with him. They're too powerful. We have to wait for the right moment...We don't know if he's recruited more..."

He looked down at the floor, starting to calm down.

"Ok. I trust you Joonie..."

"Thank you"

I sighed with relief.

Jin still seemed uneasy about something though.

"What's wrong?"

I asked, concerned.

"I know that you've been wondering where Jjanggu has been... He's..., at peace now"

He looked up at the ceiling and cried a bit.

"He can't feel his pain anymore. He can rest now, in a better place..."

"I'm very sorry hyung..."

I stared at the floor, crying as well.

My dear friend Jjanggu is gone now, and I didn't get to say goodbye and that I love him...

"But there's a bright side"

Jin added, wiping his eyes.

"What's that?"

I asked.

"Follow me"

We got up and made our way to a room that made me feel at peace. He turned on the light, revealing a very nice bedroom.

"Welcome to my room"

He smiled.

There was a cage with two very small animals sleeping inside of it, in the corner of the room.

"These are my two sugar gliders, Eomuk and Odeng~!"

He introduced them happily.

"They're very cute~. I think they suit you a lot. Jjanggu did too, but, you know...."

"I get you, Joonie. Don't worry"

He smiled at me.

"I'm sure they'll like you too, just like Jjanggu"

I smiled at his words.

"So I was thinking, we could all hang out together. You, me, Kookie, Tae, Jimin, Hobi, and Yoongi. You can hang with each of them one by one as well, to get to know each of them better. We'll all go places together and have a lot of fun. What do you say, Joonie?"

Jin asked, holding my hands with excitement.

"I would like that very much, hyung~. I'm really glad that I finally get to spend some time with you and the others~. Thank you~"

I thanked him gratefully.

"Don't mention it. Now let's get some sleep, yeah?"

He motioned me towards his bed, and I followed him.

I got into the bed next to him, and it was very soft and comfortable. It's been so long since I slept on an actual bed. It feels like heaven...~.

"Good night Joonie~"

Jin cheered, turning off the light.

"Good night Jinnie~. And good night Eomukie and Odengie~"

I cheered.

And with that, we went to sleep, happy and content.
