My toy poodle's arm was ripped off by our neighbors dog and is currently being driven to an emergency vet by my sister-in-law... I don't know how it happened, mom said they were all playing, even the neighbor's kids, and somehow one of the dogs got her leg through the fence... I don't know how bad it is, I want to throw up just from handing my dad dog painkillers for him to give to her... god.... I don't want to lose her... she probably going to need surgery... there's no way we could afford it... and... she's so tiny... she can possibly die from anesthesia alone...
I don't even know what's going to happen with the neighbors... are we gonna tell them? Are we gonna have to do something that hurts their dog? Is mom and dad gonna make them responsible for the vet bills?...
I don't want them to be stuck feeling like we do but I know we can't let them not know... they have kids and we have another dog and seven chickens... if that dog rips legs off while in a play mode, how safe is anyone with the dog?... I know they're bug dogs and they're naturally gonna be capable of doing that to such a small dog, but you're never really understanding and worrying of how much of a threat an animal can pose until it happens...
And now we have to think about the fence too... I don't know what we can do to keep the dogs a safe distance from it... a fence like ours means it's thousands just to repair small segments of it, plus that side is also our neighbors so we'd all have to agree on repairs and what to do to keep all the animals and kids from crossing sides (Which would be a pain since chickens love to climb and wonder into other places if they can see the other side..) and we don't have materials to block off that whole side from our dogs, and we have to make sure the chickens don't want to cross it, which I'm sure they don't, they've never really been close to that side but once we block it off they'll probably be sure curious (like we did with a bush cause they wouldn't stop eating it, they especially wanted it once we blocked it off.)
There's just so much needing to happen at once and it's only been ten minutes... my whole body hurts from all this worry and panic... not even dad was this worried when she broke her wrist, now he's so panicked and crying that he couldn't even drive...
