"What could I do if I just knew it didn't need to be perfect?
It just needed to be? And they let me be?"

Solana felt tiny earthquakes and immediately caught Mirabel's arm. Bruno began to do a circle out of sand while both sisters sat down besides each other. "We might wanna hurry.", said Mirabel nervous and petted her little sister's arm. "You can't hurry the future.", mentioned Bruno and continued to do the circle even with the capybara in the way. "What if I show you something worse? If I see something that you du like you're gonna be all, "Bruno makes bad things happen." "Oh, he's creepy and his vision killed my goldfish." "We don't think you make bad things happen. Sometimes family weirdos just get a bad rap.", said Solana and winked at her uncle after the last sentence. The girl could understand him better than anyone else. "You can do this.", she encouraged him and watched Antonio to give him his plush toy. "For the nerves.", said the younger boy and ride away on jaguars back. Bruno smiled at the gesture and turned his attention back to the vision. "I can do this. I can do this. I can do this, I can do this.", he whispered and got out sand from beneath his cloak. Bruno threw it behind him and let Solana light up a match. He burned the leaves and took a small branch lightning up the rest.
The atmosphere began to change and everything became gloomy and dark. Solana felt a smile to creep up on her lips. "You might wanna hang on.", suggested Bruno and let his nieces to put their hands in his. Everything began to lit up in green and the youngest Madrigal sister looked at it in amazement. The vision began to show the candle falling from its place as the window broke apart. The encanto was giving in. The next part showed their Casita falling apart and their family in panic. Mirabel and Solana saw themselves in front of the house, and Sol was holding the candle in her hands. That was the part they saw. "It's just the same thing. I gotta stop!", said Bruno exhausted. "No. We need to know which way it goes. There's gotta be an answer.", shouted Solana to her uncle and looked at him with a begging look. "Something we're not seeing!" "You're looking at the same thing I am.", began Bruno but got interrupted with Mirabel. "There! Over there!", she yelled and pointed to a yellow butterfly. "Butterfly! Follow the butterfly!", yelled Bruno back and walked behind with his two nieces, not letting go of their hands. The yellow butterfly stopped on a grass piece making both girls to look confused. "Where is that?", asked Mirabel. "It's all out of order. It's the candle. The candle's getting brighter!", explained Bruno hesitating.
Solana saw herself, her hand on the candle and her eyes glowing. Mirabel next to her, a hand on her shoulder. "I think you two are gonna help the candle!" "How?", asked Solana this time, her eyes not letting go of herself in the vision. "Uh, there's someone with you. And you...you fight her!" "What?", asked Mirabel skeptical this time. "Wait, no, no. Is that a hug?", said Bruno questioning his last words. "Are we fighting or hugging?" "An embrace. An embrace! To make the candle bright you have to embrace her.", explained Bruno with a smile on his face. "Embrace who?", asked Solana with big eyes. Her sister kept on bugging to see who it is. The figure was began to form herself and let me tell you, those two didn't expect that person. "Isabela!", yelled both sisters in unison with irritated faces. The vision was done and everything around them fell to the ground.
"Oh, your sister? That's great!", said Bruno and showed the two girls the green glass. And neither looked impressed. "Everytime.", he said and threw it away.
●●●
"Why would embracing Isabela do anything?", questioned Solana as she hid behind a plant with Mirabel and Bruno. "I don't know. Our family got a miracle. How do you help a family miracle? You hug a sister.", said Bruno optimistic and looked at his nieces. "Mirabel? Solana?", shouted Camilo through the house and made the three family members to hid further behind. Camilo suddenly stopped and his head shape shifted into a baby. "Mirabel? Solana?", he searched again in a high pitched voice. "Well, I think we're running out of time here." "You think?", said Solana sarcastic and rose an eyebrow at Bruno. "It's not gonna work. She won't hug us ever, okay? She hates us!", said Mirabel and pointed between herself and sister. Bruno was ready to say something positive but the curly haired girl interrupted him. "Also, I don't know if you heard, we ruined her proposal! Plus, P. S...she is just annoying." "Mirabel?", whispered Bruno towards the bubbly girl. "Of course it's Isabela." "Mirabel?" "What's her problem with us anyway? She's the one with roses coming out of her..." "Mirabel!", said Solana loud, scaring her sister for a second. "Bruno wants to say something." "Thanks, Sol. You see, you're missing the point. The fate of the family, it's not up to her. It's up to you. You two are exactly what this family needs.", said Bruno with a small smile. Solana put her hand on Mirabel's shoulder and pulled her close to herself. "You just have to see it.", said Solana, finishing Bruno's sentence. "By yourself, after I leave.", added the man and moved slowly away with a plant.
"Wait. You're not coming?", asked Solana with a questioning look on her face. "It was your vision, girls. Not mine.", said Bruno in a deep voice. "You're afraid Abuela will see you." "Yep. I mean, yes, that too.", said Bruno and opened the painting to go back to his somewhat home. "Hey, after you save the miracle, come visit together.", he said and looked back at the two. Both had big smiles on their faces. "After we save the miracle, we're bringing you home.", said Mirabel and squeezed Solana's hand. Bruno gave them a smile and vanished behind the painting, leaving the two girls back. Mirabel shared a look with her sister and stood up. Solana gazed over to the candle, feeling a sharp pain through her head again but brushed it aside. "We got this. Just gonna save the miracle.", said the brunette with an optimistic smile and side hugged her sister. "With a hug.", said Mirabel in a not so impressed voice. Solana shook her head and dragged her sister over to Isabela's room.
●●●
Mirabel opened the door, letting Solana to knock. "Isa? Hey!", yelled the younger sister with optimism in her voice. "We know we've had our issues, but we're ready to be better sisters...to you.", hesitated Mirabel with her words, getting a side nudge from Solana. "So, we should just hug. Let's hug it out, huh?" "Hug it out?", repeated Isabela Mirabel's words making her littlest sister to hide behind the curly haired girl. "Luisa can't lift an empanada, Mariano's nose looks like a smashed papaya! Have you lost your mind?", said the older girl and squashed a rose in her hands while yelling at her sisters. "Isa, I feel like you're upset. And you know what cures being upset?", began Solana and walked up towards her with Mirabel. "A warm embrace.", said both Madrigal sisters and opened their arms only to get rejected. "Get out.", pointed Isabela towards her door and let the flowers to shut Mirabel's mouth with one. "Everything was perfect. Abuela was happy. The family was happy. You two wanna be better sisters? Apologize for ruining my life.", demanded the eldest sister and got closer. Mirabel stood her ground and covered Solana's mouth as she was about to say something.
"Go on. Apologize.", whispered Isabela with a grin. "We...are...sorry...", said Mirabel hesitating and looked at their older sister who still had a smirk on her face. Solana smiled but soon dropped it. "...that your life is so great!" Solana cursed her sister inside of her head for being so stubborn. "Out.", yelled Isabela and let her flower strings to drag her younger sisters out of her room. "Wait. We'll apologize.", tried Solana and held Mirabel's hand so they won't be separated. The curly haired hug a plant pot, trying to stop them from being dragged. "We weren't trying to ruin your life! Some of us have bigger problems, you selfish...", continued Solana in outrage without realizing. Isabela gasped at the word. "...entitled princess!" Mirabel looked at her younger sister in amazement. It was rare for her to call their eldest sister names or to even call her out. "Selfish? I've been stuck being perfect my whole entire life! And literally, the only thing you two have done for me is mess things up!", yelled Isabela and let flowers to hit her sisters' chins as they were being dragged out of her room. "Nothing is messed up! You can still marry that big dumb hunk!", defended Mirabel herself and Solana now. "I never wanted to marry him! I was doing it for the family!", confessed Isabela and let a small cactus to pop out. Solana looked with big eyes at her older sister. "Oh, my gosh. Isa, that is a very serious confession." "Okay, get over here. Bring it in. Isa?", whispered Mirabel with open arms. But Isabela seemed more interested in the cactus she just made. She got down on her knees and watched it.
[Music starts]
(ISABELA)
I just made something unexpected
Something sharp, something new
Isabela touched it and it began to grow. She looked at it with a smile.
(ISABELA)
It's not symmetrical or perfect
But it's beautiful, and it's mine
What else can I do?
Isabela picked it up, showing it to her sisters. Solana looked at it in amazement and smiled at her sister's new discovery.
(MIRABEL)
Bring it in, bring it in
(Good talk) Bring it in, bring it in
(ISABELA)
What else can I do?
Solana and Mirabel walked towards Isabela with open arms, wanting to hug her.
(SOLANA)
(Let's walk) Bring it in, bring it in
(Free hugs) Bring it in, bring it in
Isabela then got away letting Mirabel to fall down into the flower pile. Solana giggled and helped her sister to get up. Both walked behind Isabela.
(ISABELA)
I grow rows and rows of roses
Flor de mayo, by the mile
Isabela then walked around her bush statues that were in her room. Something, Solana thought was very odd for a person.
(ISABELA)
I make perfect, practiced poses
So much hides behind my smile
Mirabel was ready to hug Isabela but instead she hugged the bush head of Isabela making herself and Solana to look terrified. Isabela was now running around in her room, letting her wall to dance.
(ISABELA)
What could I do if I just grew what I was feeling in the moment?
Mirabel and Solana were right behind and they were still terrified.
(SOLANA)
Do you know where you're going? Woah!
Isabela was running, letting patterns to explode behind her, a smile appearing on her face.
(ISABELA)
What could I do if I just knew it didn't need to be perfect?
It just needed to be? And they'd let me be?
The girl swung on her bed, letting herself to fly around on it.
(ISABELA)
A hurricane of jacarandas
Solana was trying to get Mirabel out of the flower pile but failed due to laughter.
(ISABELA)
Strangling figs
(MIRABEL AND SOLANA)
Big!
The figs than brought the two girls up, making Solana automatically to hold Mirabel's hand. The girl was truly afraid of those things.
(ISABELA)
Hanging vines
The vines let Mirabel to hang upside down while Solana held onto them for dear life. When was this over?
(SOLANA)
This is fine
Mirabel caught her sister on her vine and both watched their sister on the top of a palm.
(ISABELA)
Palma de cera fills the air as I climb
And I push through
What else can I do?
Mirabel and Solana got on top of it with big effort. Luckily, Solana couldn't fall down this time.
(ISABELA)
Can I deliver us a river of sundew?
Careful, it's carnivorous, a little just won't do
Isabela helped her little sisters up. Solana smiled at Mirabel and then back at Isabela.
(ISABELA)
I wanna feel the shiver of something new
Isabela turned around to face her sisters. She took Solana's hand gently in hers and twirled the girl around. It's been some time since they've danced together.
(ISABELA)
I'm so sick of pretty, I want something true, don't you?
Mirabel shared a look with Solana. The youngest sister already knew that Isabela wasn't as perfect as she always let herself to be seen. She was way more than that.
(MIRABEL)
You just seem like your life's been a dream (Woah)
Since the moment you opened your eyes
(ISABELA)
How far do these roots go down?
Isabela sat down, with Mirabel and Solana on each side of her.
(SOLANA)
All I know are the blossoms you grow (Woah)
But it's awesome to see how you rise
All three sisters then got up together and smiled at each other. For the first time it was just them and nothing else.
(ISABELA, MIRABEL AND SOLANA)
How far can I rise? Through the roof, to the skies, let's go!
The girls were now on the roof of their home, singing together like there was no tomorrow. Using a flower as a microphone of course.
(ISABELA, MIRABEL AND SOLANA)
A hurricane of jacarandas (Whoo!)
Isabela took Solana's hand and swung them both on a vine. The girl held tight onto her sister with closed eyes.
(ISABELA)
Strangling figs (Go!)
Solana felt ground under her feet and held herself onto Mirabel's shoulder as she watched Isabela to let flowers grow again.
(ISABELA)
Hanging vines
(MIRABEL AND SOLANA)
Grow!
All three than ran down the path and smiled and laughed together again. God how much Solana has missed that!
(ISABELA)
Palma de cera fills the air as I climb
And I push through
The Madrigal sisters got on top of a vain letting it to bring them up again. Solana was really happy and smiled at Mirabel. A genuine smile.
(SOLANA)
What else, what else?
Isabela let colors to fly after them and danced on the roof again with her sisters.
(ISABELA, MIRABEL AND SOLANA)
What can you do when you are deeply, madly, truly in the moment?
(MIRABEL AND SOLANA)
Seize the moment, keep goin'
Isabela let plants to grow everywhere in the village and threw around colors with her sisters.
(ISABELA)
What can you do when you know who you wanna be is imperfect?
(ISABELA, MIRABEL AND SOLANA)
But I'll still be okay (Hey, everybody clear the way, whoo!)
Solana was twirling herself around with Isabela and threw colors at her sisters.
(ISABELA)
I'm coming through with tabebuia
(MIRABEL)
She's coming through with that booyah!
Solana truly felt happy in this very moment with her sisters just like old times. It's been forever since they've been together.
(ISABELA)
Making waves
(SOLANA)
Making waves
The vine came back and picked them up again, this time, Mirabel had a smile on her face.
(ISABELA)
Changing minds
(MIRABEL AND SOLANA)
You've changed mine
The vines stopped in front of the candle and Isabela embraced her little sisters in a tight hug.
(ISABELA)
The way is clearer 'cause you're here, and well
I owe this all to you two
Solana enjoyed the moment but got pulled out of the hug by Mirabel who showed her the candle that was burning bright. Solana put her hands up and let small fireworks to explode with little fire droplets to dance around.
(ISABELA)
What else can I do?
(SOLANA)
Show 'em what you can do
Isabela pulled her sisters away and let them to come on the vines with her again, colors bursting all the way through.
(ISABELA)
What else can I do?
(MIRABEL AND SOLANA)
There's nothing you can't do
(ISABELA)
What else can I do?
[Music ends]
All three landed in a stack of flowers and laughed together. "You two are a bad influence.", said Isabela and shot a flower into Solana's face, making Mirabel to laugh even more. "What is going on?", questioned Alma angrily. "Abuela? It's okay! Everything's...we're gonna save the miracle. The magic...", began Mirabel but got interrupted by Alma who was furious. "What are you talking about? Look at our home! Look at your sisters!" "Isabela wasn't happy!", defended Solana her older sister. "Of course she isn't happy. You two ruined her proposal.", argued Alma. "No, no, no. She needed us to ruin her proposal. And then we did all this!", showed Mirabel their Abuela with a smile on her face. "And the candle burned brighter and the cracks...that's why we're in the vision!" "Mirabel.", said Alma, trying to stop her granddaughter. "We're saving the miracle!", said Mirabel and pulled Solana close to herself who also smiled brightly.
"You have to stop, Mirabel!", shouted Alma, erasing the smiles from her granddaughters' faces. "The cracks started with you. Bruno left because of you. Luisa's losing her powers. Isabela's out of control. Because of you!" "Abuela!", hissed Solana towards her grandmother, feeling her palms to burn. "I don't know why you weren't given a gift, but it is not an excuse for you to hurt this family." "Enough!", yelled Solana and began to growl. She looked with fiery red eyes at her grandmother, scaring her. "She will never be good enough for you. We will never be good enough for you." Finally, the girl snapped. "No matter how hard we try.", shouted Solana and looked at her family and Mirabel. Her aura was getting stronger with every bit of anger. "No matter how hard any of us tries. Luisa will never be strong enough.", pointed the brunette towards her big sister. "Isabela won't be perfect enough. I won't be safe enough. Bruno left our family because you only saw the worst in him like you do with me." "Bruno didn't care about this family.", interrupted Alma Solana, making her anger to grow more just like her powers.
"He loves this family. I love this family. We all love this family." With Solana's anger growing, also grew the cracks. "You're the one that doesn't care. You're the one breaking our home." "Don't you ever..." "The miracle is dying, because of you.", interrupted the brunette the older woman and glared at her. Finally, able to release her powers. Her full powers. Fire was burning around her, protecting the girl's body letting her look like a goddess. In her eyes was not only fire burning but also passion. She has been suppressed for too long. "You're scared of me like everyone else! Only Bruno wasn't. He accepted my gift and called it special.", said Solana with a small smile. "Solana, please calm down.", said Mirabel and tried to touch Solana's shoulder but the girl refused. "You can't protect me Mirabel. You just can't!", yelled the girl and felt the cracks beneath her feet. "The candle!", she whispered as she saw the cracks creeping up to the window.
Solana ran as fast as she could, using a bit of magic to help herself. Mirabel right behind her. "Casita! Get me up there!" Solana fire blasted herself on top of the roof but almost fell down, scaring her parents and family. Camilo was trying to get to his cousin but couldn't because in that moment he lost his powers just like Isabela. It was now up to Mirabel to save her little sister. "Sol!", yelled the curly haired girl and stretched out her hand. Solana helped her up and looked at the candle feeling weak again. The girl looked panicked around. All of this was happening because of her and that stupid candle. Mirabel tried to get it but failed. Solana remembered her drawings and pulled out one. Her flame wasn't lasting long so she had to be fast. She touched the small dragon and brought it to life, directing it towards the candle. The small thing saluted and picked up the candle by its wings, bringing it to the two girls.
Solana let Mirabel to have the candle and took her on her back. She made smoke clouds, stepping on them and trying to get them out of there. Unfortunately, her powers gave in so she was trapped with Mirabel under furniture that Casita pulled over to protect them. Mirabel held her little sister close to her, feeling her skin to get colder by the minute. Their Casita was now gone. And so was the candle. Solana tried to get up, but failed. She was way too weak. "I'm cold.", whispered Solana and let a small tear to roll down her cheek. "Mirabel!", heard the brunette their mother call. Julieta stopped by her children only to see one completely exhausted and one completely in shock. "I'll be right back.", said her mother and walked away. Mirabel looked around at her family. Everything they had was gone within minutes. All because of her and her little sister. The curly haired looked down at the sunshine in person and picked her up gently.
She had no idea where she was going but as long as it was far away from the encanto it would be enough. Solana Madrigal was laying in Mirabel Madrigal's arms, her flame no longer burning and her smile no longer shining.
