"A seven-foot frame, rats along his back
When he calls your name it all fades to black"
______________________________
Solana and Mirabel where now back at their house, ready to walk into Bruno's room. The forbidden door was nothing new to the Madrigal children, in fact, it actually awoke the interest in Solana more to explore it. And today was that day.
Mirabel and her little sister stood in front of the door, looking at each other. Sol smiled at her older sister and pushed the door open. There was a big hourglass as an entry with sand falling down. "Casita. Can you turn off the sand?", questioned Mirabel and looked at the door were Casita seemed to stop. "You can't help in here?" Casita moved the tiles to communicate with the two girls. "We'll be fine.", exclaimed Solana with a light smile. If the brunette was honest, she couldn't hold her smile any longer. She felt way too weak for that. "We need to do this." "For you, for Abuela, maybe a little for me.", whispered Mirabel the last part and sighed. "Find the vision, save the..." Mirabel Madrigal didn't seem to notice that there wasn't a real path that leads them down. Just sand. Only sand. That's why she tripped and rolled down while Solana slid down with her feet. Mirabel got up and cleaned her glasses and eyes from the sand she caught on the way down making Solana to giggle at her. Both sisters were in awe of the long staircase that was waiting for them to climb up. That was until a toucan bird landed on the stone besides Mirabel. "Oh, hello. Lot of stairs.", said the girl with glasses as she looked up. "But at least we'll have a friend." "Nope. He flew away immediately.", commented Solana and looked at her sister's mad expression to change into a optimistic one. Something, that was kind of rare to see.
"We just have to climb them up. Come on, Sol.", mentioned Mirabel to her younger sister. "I don't do stairs very well." Mirabel shrugged and began to make her way upstairs. Solana grinned and put her hands up, creating a small fire carpet. She stepped on it and let controlled it to get to her destination. Of course, Mirabel wasn't there that's why the young girl took her time and checked out their way to the next door. "Took you long enough, sis.", said Solana and smirked. "We still have to get on the other side." "Come on!", shouted Mirabel out of frustration. She prepared a swing so she could reach the other side and swung herself over. To her surprise, she actually did it. "Amateur.", whispered Solana and stepped forward to the edge. She let herself to fall, making Mirabel to shout in fear but then stopped after seeing her little sister to walk back up on smoke clouds she created. As soon as Solana felt ground under her feet, she found herself getting a large hug from Mirabel and of course a small lecture about how dangerous and stupid that was. "I'm okay Mirabel!", yelled the girl and stomped her foot on the stone, letting it to break. Mirabel dragged her sister quickly away before something happened and both watched in fear to hear how deep actually the ground was. It was very deep.
Both walked inside Bruno's actual room and looked around. Solana wasn't that much impressed as Mirabel because Bruno has already told her what it looked like. Or at least he tried to since he wasn't there since years. Mirabel shrieked in fear as three small rats came out of a vase, running to a stone portrait of their uncle. Solana gagged in disgust and picked up the toucan bird that was sitting on Mirabel's shoulder. The poor thing was shivering. That's when a vault opened itself and the bird just knew that he got to fly away. "Quitter!", yelled Solana behind him and crossed her arms over her chest. Mirabel opened the door wider and held Solana's hand tightly. "Empty.", whispered Mirabel towards her sister who squeaked in shock as the vault closed itself.
Solana lit up their way with a fireball and looked at the ground. Prophecies!, she thought and showed them to her sister. Mirabel got one piece out of the sand and rotated it in her hands, trying to figure out what's hurting the magic. And Solana. The curly haired got another piece out and connected it. Her younger sister gave her another one and puzzled it to the other two and what they saw shocked them. "You!", whispered Solana in disbelief. Mirabel looked at her sister in fear. Both heard the walls cracking and decided to collect the other pieces. There was more to this than they thought and Solana played a big part in it. Bigger than the rest of her family. The sisters started to run towards the exit and tried open it before the sand could get them. At first it seemed impossible but then Solana decided that it was time to use her full potential of her gift. Her eyes lit up in a fiery red while her hands glowed in a light yellow. She put her hands on the door and exploded it just so that she and Mirabel could be freed. Unfortunately she used too much power and almost let them fall down the edge. The brunette felt exhausted and weaker than before.

As both sisters walked out of Bruno's room, they looked down at Mirabel's bag with the green pieces glowing. Unfortunately they bumped into their grandmother right away. "Where are you coming from in such a hurry?" "We're sorry, we were...", tried the older girl to explain but got cut off by Alma. "What is in your hair?", she questioned and wanted to touch Solana's hair but the girl pulled away herself as she heard Luisa screaming. "I'm losing my gift!" "What?", asked the older woman in confusion. "Mirabel, Solana and I were having this little talk about me carrying too much. So, I tried not to carry so much, but I realized it was putting me behind. And I knew I was gonna let everyone down." Solana looked at her older sister with sad eyes. "And I felt really bad, so I was grabbing all the donkeys, but then when I went to throw the donkeys in the barn, they were heavy!", sobbed Luisa and ran to her room immediately.
"What did you do? What did you say to her?" "We were being good sisters. We just told her to relax from time to time and to not put so much pressure on herself.", explained Solana in a harsh tone. "Is that so wrong?" The girl felt heat running over her cheeks as she stared at her grandmother with a stern look. "Solana...", she began but got cut off by the church bells. "I have to go get the Guzmáns for Isabela's engagement. Stay away from Luisa until I can talk to her." "She's our sister!", shouted Solana but got stopped by a sharp pain through her head. All of a sudden she felt tired again. Alma looked surprised at the young girl. Usually she would go on with her argument until she proved a point but today was different. The older woman brushed it off and prepared to leave. "Tonight, we can't have any more problems. And whatever you're doing, stop doing it." Solana glared at her grandmother before getting pulled by Mirabel towards her room.
●●●
The curly haired girl let her little sister to lie down on her bed while she was investigating the vision, asking herself why she was in it. That's until she heard thunder rumbling. "Tía! Jeez.", exclaimed Solana and sat up straight on the edge of the bed. "Sorry, sorry, I didn't mean to...", started Pepa to apologize but got interrupted while chasing away the cloud over her head. "I just wanted to get the last of Toñito's things and then I heard the name we do not speak." "Bruno.", said Solana towards her older sister. "Great. Now I'm thundering and that thunder will lead to a drizzle and a drizzle will lead to a sprinkle...clear skies, clear skies.", said Pepa and made her nieces to look weird at her. "Tía Pepa? If...he had a vision about someone, what would it mean for them?", questioned Mirabel quickly. "We don't talk about Bruno.", said Pepa and twisted the clothes to get water out of them since her cloud was raining. "We know. It's just hypothetically, if he saw you...", joined Solana the conversation. "Chicas, please, we need to get ready for the Guzmáns.", said Pepa and got her cloud away.
"We just wanna know if it was generally positive or like, less positive..." "It was a nightmare!", stormed Felíx inside shouting. "Felíx!", said Pepa stern. Solana walked next to her sister, wanting to hear the story. "Hey, they need to know, Pepi, they need to know." "We don't talk about Bruno.", shushed Pepa her husband but he kept on talking. "He would see something terrible. And then...boom! It would happen." "We don't talk about Bruno." "What if he didn't understand what he saw?", questioned Solana interested. "Then you better figure it out, because it was coming for you.", said Felíx and looked at his nieces seriously.
[Music starts]
(PEPA)
We don't talk about Bruno, no, no, no
We don't talk about Bruno, but
That's when Solana knew that Pepa was going to tell their wedding story again. Yes, again. She heard it before when she once asked about Bruno.
(PEPA)
It was my wedding day
(FELÍX)
It was our wedding day
Both sisters looked around and realized that it was the day their aunt and uncle got married.
(PEPA)
We were getting ready
And there wasn't a cloud in the sky
(FELÍX)
No clouds allowed in the sky
That's when Solana saw Bruno's figure with his green cloak and the only thing you could see was a grin on his face.
(PEPA)
Bruno walks in with a mischievous grin
(FELÍX)
Thunder
Pepa rolled her eyes and looked mad at her husband for telling the story.
(PEPA)
You're telling the story or am I?
(FELÍX)
I'm sorry, mi vida, go on
Pepa smiled at her husband's charming nickname for her and she continued to tell.
(PEPA)
Bruno says, "It looks like rain"
(FELÍX)
Why did he tell us?
Mirabel looked at her sister. Solana had a very different expression on her face than Mirabel. Very different one.
(PEPA)
In doing so, he floods my brain
(FELÍX)
Abuela gets the umbrellas
That's when a wave pulled through the two sisters, scaring them together. Mirabel squeezed Solana's hand in hers and now her expression changed again. Into confusion.
(PEPA)
Married in a hurricane
(FELÍX)
What a joyous day, but anyway
Pepa and Felíx walked towards their nieces with serious expressions. They needed to warn them about Bruno.
(PEPA AND FELÍX)
We don't talk about Bruno, no, no, no
We don't talk about Bruno (Hey)
Both sisters found themselves back at the Casita together with Dolores. Was she now involved too?
(DOLORES)
Grew to live in fear of Bruno stuttering or stumbling
Dolores then took her cousins hands, mentioning to them that she could hear Bruno.
(DOLORES)
I can always hear him sort of muttering and mumbling
Solana forgot that Dolores could hear anyone and everything but why hasn't she told Abuela about her discovery? Did she actually knew that Bruno lived behind the walls of Casita?
(DOLORES)
I associate him with the sound of falling sand (Ch, ch, ch)
The two sisters were now moving with Dolores in sync. She really knew everything about the man.
(DOLORES)
It's a heavy lift with a gift so humbling
Always left Abuela and the family fumbling
The older girl then looked at them seriously. She really believed that Bruno was bad! But Solana knew better than anyone else.
(DOLORES)
Grappling with prophecies they couldn't understand
Do you understand?
That's when Camilo stepped in and scared his cousins. He shape shifted into Bruno making Solana to giggle quietly.
(CAMILO)
A seven-foot frame, rats along his back
Camilo made a few rats to dance and twirled his baby cousin around.
(CAMILO)
When he calls your name, it all fades to black
Camilo shape shifted back into his self and let Solana and Mirabel to fall down a hole with sand.
(CAMILO)
Yeah, he sees your dreams and feasts on your screams (Hey)
Both sisters got caught back by Camilo who let them down to walk into the village. It seems like not only the family was seeing him as trouble.
(PEPA, FELÍX, DOLORES AND CAMILO)
We don't talk about Bruno, no, no, no (No, no)
We don't talk about Bruno (We don't talk about Bruno)
That's when a woman came to them with a fish in a glass that was living one minute and the next it died.
(WOMAN)
He told me my fish would die
The next day, dead (No, no)
Then a man came by and told them his destiny. And it wasn't that good either.
(MAN 1)
He told me I'd grow a gut
And just like he said (No, no)
The priest was the last one with his complaining. Poor guy, thought Solana. But it wasn't Bruno's choice to give out a prophecy to everyone. That was his gift. A curse and a blessing at the same time just like Solana's gift.
(MAN 2)
He said that all my hair would disappear
Now, look at my head (No, no)
(WOMAN, MAN 1 AND MAN 2)
Your fate is sealed when your prophecy is read
Both sisters were now in the Casita, seeing their eldest sister to tell them about her prophecy.
(ISABELA)
He told me that the life of my dreams
Would be promised, and someday be mine
Solana rolled her eyes. What else of course? Isabela would always have everything people could only dream of.
(ISABELA)
He told me that my power would grow
Like the grapes that thrive on the vine
(ABUELA)
Oye, Mariano's on his way
Dolores looked out of the window in Mariano's way. She had a crush on him and even Solana knew that. It wasn't that hard to guess.
(DOLORES)
He told me that the man of my dreams
Would be just out of reach, betrothed to another
Isabela walked to her younger sisters, glaring at them making clear that they shouldn't ruin this night for her.
(DOLORES)
It's like I hear him, now
(ISABELA)
Hey sis
I want not a sound out of you
(DOLORES)
It's like I can hear him now
I can hear him now
Mirabel looked at Solana who only nodded. They needed to know more about him. Definitely.
(SOLANA)
Um, Bruno
Yeah, about that Bruno
(MIRABEL)
We really need to know about Bruno
Give us the truth and the whole truth, Bruno
Solana watched Camilo to shape shift into Mariano and laughed at his action.
(CAMILO)
Isabela, your boyfriend's here
(THE MADRIGALS)
Time for dinner
Mirabel took her sisters hand, leading her inside the nursery. They needed to see the whole prophecy. They had to know.
(EVERYONE)
[Camilo] A seven-foot frame, rats along his back
[Pepa] It was my wedding day
[Félix] It was our wedding day
[Isabela] He told me that the life of my dreams
[Dolores] Grew to live in fear of Bruno stuttering or stumbling
When he calls your name it all fades to black
As they passed Luisa's room, her door was flickering, just like Solana's. Mirabel and her sister had to be fast. Their family was in danger!
(EVERYONE)
[Pepa] We were getting ready and there wasn't a cloud in the sky
[Félix] No clouds allowed in the sky
[Isabela] Would be promised and some day be mine
[Dolores] I can always hear him sort of muttering and mumbling
I associate him with the sound of falling sand, ch-ch-ch
[Camilo] Yeah, he sees your dreams
[Pepa] Bruno walks in with a mischievous grin
[Isabela] He told me that my power would grow
Bruno wasn't the person Solana's family claimed him to be. He was sweet and kind and never meant harm towards others.
(EVERYONE)
[Dolores] It's a heavy lift with a gift so humbling
[Camilo] And feasts on your screams
[Félix] Thunder
[Pepa] You're telling the story or am I?
[Félix] I'm sorry, mi vida, go on
[Isabela] Like the grapes that thrive on the vine, on the vine
[Dolores] Always left Abuela and the family fumbling
Grappling with prophecies they couldn't understand
Do you understand?
[Abuela] Oye, Mariano's on his way
[Pepa] Bruno says, "It looks like rain"
[Félix] Why did he tell us?
[Camilo] Seven-foot frame, rats along his back
Mirabel spread the green glowing pieces and began to put them together with her sister. The truth was coming near and they knew it.
(EVERYONE)
[Isabela] He told me that the life of my dreams would be promised and someday be mine
[Dolores] He told me that the man of my dreams would be just out of reach
[Pepa] In doing so, he floods my brain
[Félix] Abuela gets the umbrella
[Camilo] When he calls your name it all fades to black
[Dolores] Betrothed to another, another
[Pepa] Married in a hurricane
[Félix] What a gorgeous day
[Dolores] And I'm fine, and I'm fine, and I'm fine, I'm fine
[All] He's here
Solana passed a piece that fitted and put it together. The prophecy was becoming whole and it scared both sisters. And just like that, they were done. Mirabel looked up in shock at what she saw. The curly haired girl wasn't the only reason their house was falling apart. It was also Solana. The younger girl stood besides her older sister, holding the candle between her hands. What was that about?
(EVERYONE)
Don't talk about Bruno, no
(SOLANA AND MIRABEL)
Why did we talk about Bruno?
(EVERYONE)
Not a word about Bruno
(SOLANA AND MIRABEL)
We never should have brought up Bruno
[Music ends]
Both sisters stared at the prophecy with wide eyes. They even overheard their father's knocking. "Miraboo, Lanabear! Got your party pants on? Cause I...", Augustín couldn't finish his sentence because of the glowing green glass on his daughter's drawer. Mirabel and Solana tried to hide it in awkward positions so that Casita also had to help. Augustín still stared at his daughters. "We broke into Bruno's tower. We found his last vision. The family's in trouble. The magic is dying. The house is breaking. Luisa's gift is fading. And we think it's all because of us?", explained Mirabel quickly, making her little sister to put her forehead into her palm. Sometimes she could really punch her big sister for not having the ability to lie. Augustín pushed his kids aside to look at the vision, still in shock.
"Pá?", questioned Solana from behind Mirabel in worry. "We say nothing.", he declared and put the glowing pieces into his pockets. "Abuela wants tonight to be perfect. Until the Guzmáns leave, you did not break into Bruno's tower. The magic is not in dying. The house is not breaking. Luisa's gift is not fading." Augustín grabbed his daughters by the shoulders and began to talk softly, in hope no one could hear him. Ironic, isn't it? "No one will know. Just act normal. No one had to know.", after Augustín finished, the door opened to reveal Dolores. She squeaked, drawing the attention to her. All three turned their heads towards the girl. "I know." With that left Dolores quickly. Solana looked at her family. "She knows! She's gonna tell everyone!"
