 I Yearn For Summer

Not the frozen counters and cold sheets

The warmth of slept in corners I seek.

The angels already shedding their skin up there.

These flakes loose themselves in my hair.

And I wonder,

If you can feel beautiful under the skin of some beautiful.

Funny how things can change form,

By stealing someone's warmth.

Like the snow that melts in my hands.

Like how I danced, stealing summer's vibrance.

And strange,

How something so cold can adorn the world.

This icy white strange..

How many already lured.

But while my December seems to have no end,

Like winter has come to a stand,

I close my eyes and believe,

It's the summer I breathe.
