So, this week is the start of a new JWBC!

I probably should have had you guys put your book names in your forms so we could get this going, but I wasn't thinking right, so now we're a week late xD

It's okay, improvision is here to save the day!

So one thing that I would just like to let you guys know is that you have a choice - we have both weekly assignments and weekly challenges. You can choose whether you would like to read and rate people's books in a week, or you can be in a group with other people who would like to do challenges, and you have a tiny little competition.

Assignment

To kick off this week, everyone has an assignment to do, just not with each other because technical difficulties xD

Your assignments are based off of what genres you are and aren't okay with - so don't worry, I am not going to force anybody to read anything they hate.

But before I begin!!

Hello, and welcome to the Janus Whitewall Book Club!!

Now that we have recognized our new members, let's announce the assignments!

Spider-Hawk - Revival: of Cethore *OR* Dust of Lost Memories
Both of her works are Fantasy, and as far as I am concerned, no one who has signed up put Fantasy as a genre they cannot stand. No matter if you are doing the challenge or this week's assignment, you MUST read at least 5 chapters of either one of her books. I do say this a lot (get used to it because I will continue to say it until death), but she is the sole reason this club came into existence, so I would love for the members of this club to give her the glory she so deserves! So each person should have two books to read and rate this week.

So these are the assignments. Not everyone is reading all three books - but all are required to read 5 chapters of one of Spider-Hawk's books and 3 chapters of the book that I tagged you under. What I want you to do (just so I know you're being honest!) is that at the end of each chapter, I want you to tag me to a constructive comment.

This chapter was very well written, and it held my attention throughout! The only problem is that there are a few typos and grammatical errors here and there, but not too much to where it distracts the reader from the story. Overall, well done!
I give this chapter a 8/10

On my account, 10 is the magical number!

Once you have read your chapters and commented constructively (not rudely!) on each one, you must come back and comment a happy face to this part! I chose a happy face because when things go right and we've done what needs to be done, everyone is pleased! I honestly would love to see a bunch of happy faces in the comment section, lol!

Challenge

If you do not want to do the assignments, but rather something challenging, then comment here ←

But before you do that, you gotta know what the challenge is!

This includes making a new book (or going into a random book that doesn't really have a purpose to it) and writing!

If you are to make a new book just for challenges, then make sure that the title contains "JWBC" in it.

If you are going into a random book and putting it into a new chapter, make sure the chapter name contains "JWBC" in it.

So I want you guys to try to write a story based on a prompt that I'm giving you.

The prompt is:

You are an artist. You love to draw animals, people, and mythical creatures. One day, you begin a new technique that makes your art better, but what you don't realize is that the new technique makes your art come to life.

I would like to read everyone's story, this prompt actually sounds interesting! For your short story to be valid, it must be at least 2,000 words long. But don't limit yourself! When writing, you're supposed to have fun and get lost in your own story! Use that prompt to let your imagination go places that even I myself will not expect!

I don't mind reading someone's story if they got so lost that they wrote 10,000 words!

Once you are done with your challenge, tag me to your story so I can read it! You have one week to write, and then one more week will go to reading and rating (other people will be doing so as well!), so challenges are really a two-week process.

Now that the challenge and the assignments have been announced, I'm gonna go ahead and give you guys the form to put your books up. There will be two forms - one for book of the month, and one just for regular assignments. You can only sign up for one - if you sign up for book of the month, your book will definitely be in assignments as well, but because we added ratings, I will count up all the ratings that everyone did for you book (which is fair because each person with your book will give the same amount of ratings for each chapter).

Okay, it may sound confusing, and I'm probably setting myself up for more technical difficulties, but let's just see how this goes xD
