The Titan continues to drag itself towards the walls, many lights shining in its eyes as the Titan continued to set trees to flame and making a trail behind it. Meanwhile, the Garrison soldier shouts at Erwin's stupid plan, grabbing the commander by the collar of his jacket while Donna stared unamused. "What the hell are you thinking, Erwin?! If we don't get these civilians out of the city, they'll die by the thousands! That Hulking monstrosity will be a stones throw from the wall by morning!" He exclaimed

"That Titan is an Abnormal," Hanji speaks up, resting her left hand on the table while her right was in a cast, he turns to her, his eye twitches as he yells. "Right, and what the hell does that even mean?!" Hanji straightens her back and begins to inform the clueless soldier

. "It behaves strangely. Unlike most Titans we encounter, It's only attracted to large groups of people. Hence the word abnormal. Put simply, given the choice between a few soldiers right next to it and a distant, but densely populated city, it'll choose the city.

So if we were to evacuate orvud's populace to the interior of wall Sina right now, The titan would change its course, destroying the wall and anything else in its path. Left unchecked, it would make for the city with the greatest density of people, mitras.

The ensuing rampage would deliver a devastating blow to humanity. As we rode for orvud, we had eren jaeger attempt to use his recently discovered power to control Titans. Rod Rice Titan didn't react in any way."

Flashback

Earlier, while everyone was still on their horses and Eren, Historia and Hanji were on the carriage, Eren had stood up and attempted to stop the Titan from moving, giving the air a punch. "Stop moving, now!"

Nothing

"I said stop!" Still nothing, "hey, I'm talkin to you!" He continued throwing punches into the air

Still wouldn't stop

" hey, asshole! Ya hear me? C'mon you stupid old bastard! Why won't you listen?!" As soon as he said that last sentence, Eren has stiffened and began to sweat extensively when he felt the captain's eyes at the back of his head.

Flash back end

the Garrison soldier gives Hanji a look as Erwin looks down at him and explains once more. "If we're to stop this thing, it will have to be outside the walls of Orvud District. For that to happen, we require the citizens here to act as bait. However, this doesn't change the fact that our first and foremost duty as soldiers is to protect the people."As he explains, at this moment, other Garrison soldiers are knocking at the resident's doors and directing them to line up over to the wall. "In the event that we're Unable to halt the target, we'll take measures to minimise civilian losses. We'll announce a district evacuation drill tonight. People will be gathered away from the outer wall, ready to escape if the battle is lost."

The soldier narrows his eyes, contemplating before he lets out a small sigh and meets Erwin's eyes. "It seems there's no other choice..." Erwin gives a small nod. "The body of this titan is the largest we've seen yet. As such, it presents an easy target. Our wall mounted cannons should prove highly effective, but if we can't bring it down with artillery..." Erwin looks over at both Eren and violet as everyone's eyes had landed on them. "The scout regiment will throw everything we have at it."

Everyone continued to stare at them, making the two feel a bit uncomfortable. the boy looks down at the floor.

Soon, dawn had risen. The Garrison Regiment were lined against the walls, cannons ready to open fire, The Titan was extremely close at this point while citizens had gathered around, hearing a soldier announce to them to answer their confusion.

"As part of this drill, dummy Titans and cannons will be utilized. This will be a large-scale exercise like nothing you've seen. However, we ask that you remain calm, Follow our instructions and remember—"

"Ma'am." An old man spoke up, looking at the female soldier. "I Really gotta go get my store ready for the day. Can't you let us go home?" He asked

"You won't have any customers today. Take the day off" she said" i've got a living to make." The old man complained "This is northern Sina, Why are we having drills ?" One says"The military outs the king, and now this?" Another pipes in."What do you mean?" A third person asks.

"I'm saying that the military is only doing this to demonstrate their power." A citizen tells another. "Now that the fake King is gone, they want to remind us that they're in control." Then another speaks out. "You mean they're puttin' us through all this just to flex the damn muscles?" One nods. "Yeah. At this point, I think I prefer the fake King, even if he was incompetent."

"H-Hey! Look over there!" One shrieks. causing everyone to look over and gasp. There was a big puff of white smoke. As the citizens become even more confused, the Garrison soldier,

"Fire!" The Captain declares, The soldiers aim and fire, but it does barely and damage on the Titan besides making fairly medium-sized holes in it. The continued to fire at it while Eren, Latina, and the others watch on the walls.

"Well, how'd that do..?" Erwin mutters to Levi, standing next to Donna

" fire!" as the soldiers continue firing and firing at the Titan

. "Looks like the field cannons are even less affective," Levi replies back. "Makes sense. The cannons on the wall have a way better angle, And they didn't do shit to it either. What's the problem?" Erwin pauses. "Unprepared soldiers, scraped together cannons, and shallow leadership... The Titans have always attacked from the south. Not only this is a northern garrison, it's in the interior. Therefore, I can tell you for a fact this is the best we'll get."

"Yeah, That much is painfully clear," Levi says. "And of course your strategy for getting us through this battle comes down to a gamble. Just like every other plant that you've come up with." Just the, they heard the sound of Hanji's voice shouting was heard. "Erwin! I bought the goodies!" The group turns to Hanji as they see barrels and ropes by her.

"All the gunpowder, ropes, and netting I could find! We still need to put it together, though." She then makes her way over to Levi while a soldier walks by them pushing a barrel with two spears on it. "Oh, Got this, too!" The woman starts to inform. "There's another one Just like it a bit further down. The trigger is held in place, so once fired, it's all wind itself right back up, like 0DM gear."She then turns over to Levi. "So, We do any damage?" She asks, Levi looks away. " imagine a swarm of cicadas pissing on it."

"Then will actually use these things. Exciting." She said, Levi just looks over at her while not far, Erwin begins to give orders to the group. "Captain Levi, Jean, Sasha, Connie, Reiner and Zane... You handle that side." He says, referring to the right. "Yes sir!" The reply and quickly jog their way over to the other side " lizzy, drake, Marco, Ymir, Berthold and Grayson...you handle the opposite side..." he said " yes sir!" The jog in the opposite direction of the others

Over at the left, Mikasa, Armin, Hanji, and Latina are gently putting barrels underneath a spread-out net while Historia and Eren are untangling the ropes. "How should we do this? Lemme see... Think of it like we are wrapping up a nice gift for someone special..." Hanji says as Erwin makes his way over to Historia. "I believe you heard from Levi, Historia." She looks at him in the corner of her eyes while the commander continued his talk. "Assuming we live through this, will have you become the Queen who rules this world within the walls. So naturally, I can't have you fighting on the front line."

Historia finally looks up at him. "I doubt That plan will work. The people words bow to a queen in name alone. They aren't that naive." She states, standing up, making Erwin narrows his eyes at her." Exactly what are you suggesting?"

" fire!" Then, the sound of cannons firing echoed again. Eren looked over at Historia talking to the commander, then began thinking to himself. 'Historia... it's amazing how strong she become... At first I thought she was the weakest of us, but no..' He looks away from her then to the ground.

'I was the weak one....' a flashback came to mind, of him kneeling in front of a grave' Somewhere along the line, I decided I was special. And cause of that...When other soldiers died for my sake, I accepted as natural' in the flashback, he turned his head towards Latina, who was kneeling down in front of two graves with Lizzy, and that man Nile from the mp's, she held in her tears while lizzy just held her sobbing, and Nile placing a hand on her shoulder

'... and the same Goes for my titan powers... I hate the Titans more than anything. But when I became one, I thought nothing of it... Because I wanted to believe that strength was my own... That's the thinking of a weakling...' He looks at the rope he discarded for a while and picks it up to tending the ropes.

'Where'll We go from here? So what if I am able to reseal the wall?... I'm still not about to save mankind. I'm not special. I'm nobody.' He looks over at the houses below, stands up, and continues to stare down at them

'But really... it's humanity that got the short end of the stick here...' He then begins to mumble to himself. "...cause they're stuck with me as their trump card." He then notices three little kids, gathered together and looking at the wall. It reminded him of himself, Armin and Mikasa, Scared of the walls tearing down, being careless, and acting as if the walls were always going to stand and protect them, he then noticed one kid, a little girl, sitting alone, one of the kids looked over and invited her over, this caused a flash to enter his mind, he was with his father at some house, he couldn't remember why, the adults were talking and he noticed someone sitting in the stairs, it was a girl his age, but she stayed hidden behind the banister, what he did remember was red hair, then the girl who helped them when they were kids, who he careened back to town when she was hurt

after the flash his eyes widened ' what was that?...could that have been...' While still staring at the kids bellow, Armin is checking the barrel on the net, making Eren notice. "Hey." Armin looked over at Eren, then glanced over at the thousands and thousands of houses

"Take a look at those kids down there... They're just like us on that day," Eren admitted as Armin took a few steps to him. "Yeah..." Armin replied. "we were clueless, too... we had no idea a titan taller than the walls was about to attack us, either." Armin turns back around and continues on with his job, along with Eren. "They might end up seeing the same sight that we did that day," Armin said. "Thing is...," He grunts, tightening a rope on the barrels, "it's different this time. Those kids will have soldiers who are ready to protect them. Those kids will have us."

"Yeah stack that one up on the edge." Hanji directs Mikasa and Latina as they were both holding the gunpowder-filled containers on their shoulders. The girls placed them on top of another barrel, grunting and letting out a sigh. Eren looks over at mikasa, who wipes a small sweat on her forehead before picking another container

When he looked at her, the memory of when him and mikasa were kids appeared in his head.

He remembered where he and mikasa were rushing their way over to his home and discovered his mom trapped under the rubble of what remained his house.

He remembered how they tried to save her, even if they were weak he remembered they were trying. Then, he remembered the Smiling Titan. The Titan took his mother away from him and left him to be all alone.

"Eren." He blinked as he saw mikasa call to him. "We are running out of time here, keep your hands busy." Mikasa stated, as the two went back to hoisting and tightening barrels together.

Eren paused, glancing at his hands real quick, before suddenly punching himself across the face.The girls and Armin shot their heads over to him, concerned and confused

"Eren!" Mikasa shrieked. "Hey! Stop what are you-?!" Armin exclaimed, He punches himself again and he tries to go for another punch, but Latina rushes over and grabs his wrists behind him while Armin and Mikasa pace over. "Stop! Why are you making a wound?! Its not time yet!" She exclaimed, looking over his shoulder to see blood dripping from his nose. "No... I Just needed to beat the shit out of a useless brat really quick. With any luck, he's dead and gone now."

Time skip

Latina just finished, loading the containers and was about to get ready when she heard  " hey Latina?" She turned and saw eren". Yeah?" " aren't you forgetting something?" She stared at him confused

" what?" Then her eyes widened when she saw what was in his hand, her ribbon " oh, right, i was hoping someone found it" she said, she then turned her back but still looked at him " would you mind?" He blushed but nodded, lifting her hair and tied it back into a pony tail " thanks" she smiled

"The enemy is moving!" The captain screams as more of the cannons continue to fire. "Adjust your aim!" He announces as the Garrison soldiers adjust the cannons lower to hit the Titan. "Our target is the back of its neck! Fire!" The titan stops in its tracks as it had reached the walls, and the cannons hurled down at the crawling titan.

Once the cannons had stopped firing, the captain notices the flesh ripping apart on the titan's body. "We'll done! We've torn into its flesh! One more volley and we-!" But before the soldiers can aim at it again, the titan let out an enormous amount of hot steam towards them, instantly blocking the heat from their faces as they hiss. "So hot!" Connie shrieks" I cant see!" Zane grit his teeth. "Damn it. That's just our luck..." Said Levi. "The wind must've shifted."

"What do we do?!" A Garrison soldier shouts, "I can't see, captain!" The captain yells back. "It Doesn't matter! The targets right beneath us! Keep shooting!" And so, the cannons were fired once more, the hot steam slowly calmed down and the air started to clear up and they notice the Titan lifting itself up. "That wasn't enough..." Erwin muttered when suddenly, the Titan's hand shoots up in the air and slams it down on the wall. The three kids below lookup at the wall, and gasp as they see the Titan hold on the wall and stood up.

The Titan lifts it's head up and it was a horrific sight to see. Due to it dragging itself on the floor, half of the Titan's body was gone, and only muscles, organs, and bones were shown. The titan straightens itself up, its guts fall from its body and fall on top of the wall along with blood dripping. It lets out a roar as this makes all the citizens scream and begin to run as far away from it.

"Titan!"

"Please! You have to stay calm!" A garrison soldier instructed

"Shut up!" A citizen yelled, The titan looks down at everyone for a moment as the Garrison captain yells to his comrades. "We're falling back! Everyone run!" The captain looks over at the titan, who's grip is now tightened on the wall, making him whimper. "Shit... It's breaking through... The city I grew up in... is about to be devastated." Then, a hand was placed on his shoulder, making him flinch and look over to see Levi. "The garrison has done its duty." He says, while in the background, Marco, Grayson, Ymir, Zane, lizzy, Reiner, drake, bertholt, Connie, Sasha, and Jean are pouring cold water on themselves."let the scouts take it from here."

"Looks like we're up guys" Armin calls to eren and Latina, Eren looks over at him, giving him a small smile, cranking his arm. "Right." The girl turns over to Eren and places a hand on his shoulder, forming a smirk to which, she gets one back just as she moved into position

Armin turns around and goes to head for his position, but Eren stops him when he calls out to him. "Armin," The boy looks over, "there's one more thing that's different from back then."

"Huh?"

"It's not all we'd hope for..." Eren smirks. "But it's something. Mankind has an ace up its sleeve. Heh." While that, the children from below are quickly running away, but they stop when an electric ball of light appeared on the wall. They turn around and gasped at the sight of Eren's Titan form. "a... Titan?!" Who let out a roar

"All set commanders!" Armin states, as him and the scouts, pour cold water on themselves. Then, Sasha and Armin quickly line up the blade-barrels, waiting for Erwin's command. Erwin holds a red flare gun in his hand and raises it in the air. "On my mark..." The titan looks down at the commander. "...now!" The flare had been shot, and both Armin and Sasha pressed down on the handle and having the zipline connect in the titan's hand.

They press it down again, this time, the ODM gear was activated and the two let go as it wheeled it's way over to the hand. "Take this!" Sasha screams.

Both barrels had crashed against the Titan's hand and caused an explosion, making it lose it's stability and holding onto the wall even more. "All right! It's losing balance!" Armin uttered, covering his face when the titan let out its hot steam again. The titan's head falls against the wall with a loud thud, which causes Erwin to jump into the next phase. "Eren! Latina! Do it!"

Eren's titan bodies emerge from the steam, Latina standing on his right shoulder, while his left holding the gun-powered barrels wrapped around the net.

The kids below watch in shock and confusion as the titan's enormous head looked up and looked over at them both. While the Titan-Shifter with the girl on his shoulder continued to run at it, the plan from earlier echoed in their heads.

Flashback

'"So you're saying... that's to take this titan down... we're gonna stuff gunpowder into its throat... and hope that's enough to destroy the nape of the neck?" Levi asked, looking at Erwin as the group was gathered around a small table and looking down at the map displayed. "That's Correct." erwin  replied. "With all the heat The bastards making, I'd expect the powder to ignite without the detonator. Although a lot of this is banking on the titan hanging its mouth open..."levi said

"and even if it isn't enough heat, Latina would have to use her fire to ignite the gunpowder"Donna reminds

"True, also Explosion outside of the new may not penetrate," Erwin interjected while drawing a quick sketch of the titan. "What's the flesh inside its throat is softer. More vulnerable. What is the target may protect that point. It's been dragging its face along with the ground. Frankly, we don't even know that it has an Mouth to open. That's the gamble this time."

Flashback end

' Ive got you!' once they came close to the titan's mouth, eren lifted the nets, let out a big roar, and threw it in the titan's throat while breaking the net in the process. Everyone watched, in hoping it will work, just for save measure, Latina created a fire ball, and threw it into its mouth full of gunpowder, The barrels blast in the Titan, which causes the Titan to explode into small pieces. A bright light and a huge wind from the explosion makes Eren cover's his face and Latina, he digs his feet against the wall to prevent themselves from falling.

Bits and chunks of the titan's flesh fly everywhere in the sky, which causes Erwin to announce. "Go! Deploy your ODM gear and finish it off!" Without a second thought, the Scouts go and latch onto the flesh and cut them up

"Gigantic though it is, it's vital point is still 1 m high, and 10 cm across.'

Mikasa locks onto a piece of flesh and cuts it in half, which soon makes it dissolve into nothing.'Unless we destroy that, it will regenerate, and form another shield of heat..'Levi comes in and cuts one as well.' We Cannot waste this chance.' Drake, Ymir, and Lizzy slice some as well as bertholt, Reiner and Grayson

Along with Connie, Zane and jean cutting three pieces. "Where is it? Which is one?!" Jean mumbles, searching for the nape in every direction before he notices Historia coming from below. "Historia?!" She only stares up, eyebrows furrowed as she remembered the small conversation with Erwin not too long ago."I understand your reasons, but... I can't approve of you entering combat."

"please! I have to! I finally found my purpose-The duty I was actually meant to fulfil! That's why am standing here right now!" He turned his head after Donna elbows him

"Well, at any rate, with my body as it is now, I can't exactly stop you, can I? And Donna seems to be on your side"

While looking around, Historia had spotted the nape fly past her. Her eyes widened before she made her way over to it. 'I'm sorry Commander. I know this is selfish.' She begins to think. 'But this is the first time I've stood against my parents... The first fight I've ever had with my father.' She finally reaches the nape and quickly cuts it in half. Suddenly though, when she had sliced it, memories of her father when he was younger flashed in her eyes.

'Father! You have to Listen to me! You could easily eradicate the Titans for good! So why? Why won't you just do it!?' Her father was locked in a cell yelling at his father

And then, another memory.'I can handle it, brother. It's fine. Pray for me...' her uncle held a syringe with the Tieton liquid

Then another

.'Alma, you're the only one who understands...' rod was on his knees, in front of historia's mother, Then the sound of her sister's voice ringed in.'You can leave it to me, Father. I won't lose to the ghosts of our ancestors!' Her face with the titan marks

Then the image of her dead mother

'Oh, god!...' rod thought

After the memories had finished, Historia let out a loud gasp and the nape that she had sliced, explodes and the sound of Rod's screaming was the last thing Historia will ever hear from her father, The citizens had stopped running away and had watched the scene unfold in front of them, confused and still a bit frightened " historia!" Latina and Ymir rush over to her, Historia has landed on top of a carriage, the blood evaporating from her blade as she let out a few pants. Citizens look over at her and begin to murmur to one another. "The titans been destroyed." One said

"Hey... You okay?" One of the Garrison soldiers calls out to Historia. " your not injured, are you?" She doesn't say anything but continues to breathe heavily. "It looked like you don't dealt the final blow." Another soldier asks.

'Was that real... or did I imagine it?' She thought to herself. 'Am I acting for myself? Or am I still just someone is tool?' She sits up from her spot, immediately looking down at the ground as she continued to contemplate. 'I... don't know. But...' She then stands up and looks at the civilians in front of her. 'I've always just gone along with things. Till now, at least'

"Its okay... My name is Historia Reiss." She announced. "And i am your rightful queen." The other two looked proud of her " but I had help from someone who's always been humanity's hope" Ymir smirked at her while Latina looked shocked and confused, she turned to violet with a smile " one of my best friends...Latina romanoff" she gasped while the citizens started murmuring about the girl, one about how she was related to a mp officer

Meanwhile

Over at the ruined chapel and broken rubble, Kenny walks limply over to a tree, a sudden memory occurs of a former Titan-Shifter before Frieda was talking in his head. 'I must apologise... for I cannot die on this day.' The man bowed down at a younger version of Kenny, leaving Kenny confused. 'Please, forgive me.'

Then, another memory occurred when he met a boy in some room. 'You're not deaf, are ya? Can you hear me or can't ya?' The boy looked up at him. 'Got a name?' Once again, another one with a young version of Pastor Nick talking to him. 'Because of that, I'll do anything he needs me to, are you any different?'

' why do I care?.' Caven spoke in the memory of Kenny's. 'It's fine by me.' Then the image of the chapel collapsing ' captain ackermann!'
' no! Get back!'

Kenny had soon reached the tree, removing his gear off of him and sliding his back down against the bark wood. He held his bleeding chest and closed his eyes, thinking about the boy he raised and abandoned later wards.

"Kenny."he opens his eyes to see Levi, his original squad and another soldier holding their guns with one aimed at him. "Ah, shit..." The injured man uttered. "Not you aga-" He coughs up blood mid-sentence as Levi wasn't fazed by this and began to talk. "Found what's left of your squad. looks like they were crushed in the caving. I guess you were the only survivor?"

"Mm.sure looks that way," Kenny replies. Levi narrows his eyes down at him, then looks over at the petra, oluo, eld, Gunter and the solider next time him, stating. "Report back. I'm fine alone." They look at him and nods. "Understood sir." They then runs off, leaving Levi and Kenny alone

Levi gets a good look at Kenny until he broke the silence. "Between the burns and the blood you've lost, there's nothing that can save you now." At this, Kenny just smirks. "Oh Yeah? I wonder..."Kenny then opens a small box to reveal a syringe with the Titan serum in it, making Levi widen his eyes and left his mouth open a bit.

" swiped this sucker out of rod's bag back in the cave. Seems if I just stick myself... I'll turn into a big strong Titan. One of the dumb Titans... unfortunately.  It For a while... it outta keep me... alive," he said, gasping for air at every breath.

But levi could see he was hesitant. "You had the time and strength to inject yourself before i got here if you wanted. Why didn't you?" Levi asked."fair point..." Kenny sighed, "I guess I'm just scared... If I don't inject it right, then... I might turn out the same as rod. All messed up-like..."

"I know you're not just sitting here waiting to bleed to death," Levi said, "Surely you have a better excuse than that" With haggard breaths, Kenny said, "we'll runt... The thing is, I don't feel like dyin' without my dream comin' true.. But... I see now... After all this time, I think I see why he did it."

"Huh?" Levi murmured, staring at the dying man. Then he began to laugh. He chuckled slightly, a pained look in his eyes.

"We humans... we're are all the same.... every last one of us," he said, " for some it's Drinkin... for some it's Women... for some, even religion.... Family... The King... Dreams... Children... Power... All of us had to spend our lives drunk on somethin'...Else we'd have no cause to keep pushin' on...Everyone... Was a slave to somethin'... Even him..." Kenny choked out more blood and looked back up at the boy people he once knew as a kid. "So. What's your poison, runt? Heroics? Love?" he said

Levi bent down, grabbing the man by the shoulders. "Kenny. Tell me everything you know about the  king." he exclaimed, "The first king. Why didn't he want mankind to survive?!"

"Don't know, Beats me..." Kenny muttered, "that's said, I know that's part of the reason... that we Ackermans decided to turn coat-." He spat out more blood. It hit Levi's face and his eyes widened."So apparently, that's my name as well." Levi said, "tell me...who are you?... What were you to my mom?"

"Heh, you dumbass... I'm just her brother...," he coughed. Levi's eyes widened."That day... why?" Levi asked, "Why did you leave me?"

"Because... i Just wasnt cut out...  to be somebody's dad...," he said, taking the serum's case and pushing it into Levi.Then Kenny sank back down

Nothing but silence

."Kenny..." he was dead

Timeskip

After the coronation, the squad walked with Historia down the hall. Apparently she was gonna punch Levi in the face. "You're really going to do this? For real!?" Eren asked as Historia marched down with a determined look on her face. "Yeah, I am."

"Come on, it was just a joke. Right, Mikasa?" Eren turned to her.

"After you smack him, tell him this. 'I dare you to hit me.'" ' not helping!' Latina exclaimed in thought "Real helpful... " eren said sarcastically" It's not a serious grudge! Let it go!" He replied to historia . "If I can't even do this, then how can I call myself a queen?" Historia said " atta girl" Ymir smirked

"That's the spirit...Pound that runt!" Jean smirked, along with the others,

"Show him what you're made of, Historia," Reiner states with a grin,  Bertolt sweat nervously, drake too looked worried along with Marco

"Jean! Reiner! Ymir! Not you too!" Latina exclaimed ' for the love of god someone talk her out of it, she won't listen to me or eren!' she looked ahead and saw Captain Levi standing there, his original squad wasn't there, so she assumed they were taking a break. "Oh no...I can't watch" Latina covered her eyes

She at first shook with slight fear, before she let out a battle cry and ran towards Levi, punching him by the arm. Which didn't seem very effective... Everyone was taken back and gasped in shock, Ymir and Mikasa simply smiled, historia laughed nervously, backing up "Did that hurt!? Well, I'm queen now so too bad! If you have a problem with-"She was cut off when Levi suddenly chuckled. Everyone grew nervous as we turned towards the chuckling Levi.

' oh my god...did he just?....' Latina stared shocked, Just then...a light smiled appeared on his face. She felt her whole face turned red. "Thanks, you guys. I needed that."

Meanwhile
