Yes, Mr. Darcy? (Part 3)

// Okay, so part three coming up! Dang, I should make this into a book or something...I don't know, would you 7 voters read it? Anyway, onwards with the story! Ps: if you guys guess anything, pm me, but don't put it in the comments! It spoils the fun! Anyway, sorry I don't update quite as frequently! But without further ado, (Ooo, I should say that more often...) I present to you (hey, that rhymes!) Yes, Mr. Darcy? ! //

I stood still, unbelieving of the words uttered from Draco's mouth. "Are-are you sure?" I asked cautiously. He didn't seem quite like the type to offer help to strangers, at least, not without a price to pay.

"Yes, are you sure? I don't think you should go with...her," The girl next to him expostulated, her face scrunched up nastily. "She's friends with Mira. The one obsessed with muggle objects." She criticized in a snotty voice, her eyes glancing my way every so often. Her honeyed smile never left her face, and I had the strongest urge to smash her teeth deep down her throat.

"Yes, I'm sure," Draco spoke in a bored tone, jolting me from my fantasy. He waved her away, and I had to resist the urge to snort at the expression of fake sorrow on her face. Her bottom lip jutted out, and her eyes bulged, probably for "puppy dog eyes." All in all, she looked like she was constipated. However, Draco ignored all this, and walked briskly out of the room, leaving me to stumble behind and trail after him.

"Wow, you walk fast," I observed, "You must really want to get to the dorms." His eye twitched, yet he said nothing, only walking steadily. "So Draco!" I exclaimed brightly, hoping to break the awkward silence. "Do you know how to read?"

Draco just gave me a bland look and continued to walk curtly. "I'll take that as a yes! Uhh..." I quickly wracked my brain for things to say. "Oh! What's your favorite type of food?" Mentally I was groaning and cursing him a thousand different ways, but he didn't need to know that...or did he?

"Apples," He spoke in a plummy voice, and I resisted the urge to smack him. Where the hell did the flirty, brazen boy go? I thought furiously.  I guess the war really did change some people.

"Apples! That's...great!" I exclaimed with false cheerfulness. When he said nothing else, I just gave up and walked, sulking in the silence. As we reached the entrance, I nearly jumped with joy and kissed the dungeon floor. "We are here! You can go now!" I announced gleefully. Yet he just stood there, looking at the dungeons with an odd look. "Okay...I'm just going to go now..." I inched away and headed to the dorms, silently shaking my head at the antisocial potato known as Draco Malfoy.

"Wait." The word echoed around the dungeons, causing me to jump up, and slip. I quickly scrambled up and, hoping that my cheeks weren't burning, turned to face him.

"Yes, Mr. Darcy?" Smirking, I folded my arms, knowing he would have no idea that I just insulted him. After all, there is no way he's read Pride and Prejudice.

Draco scowled. "I am nothing like Mr. Darcy! He's rude and cold and-" He suddenly went pale, realizing he just basically told me he's read the book. "I-I mean-uhh...Astoria! Are you sure you've been here this entire time? I have never seen you before! You must have been quite quiet //quite quiet...wow impressive me// shy, and antisocial!" He sniffed haughtily, trying to cover his flushing cheeks.

I just stood there dumbly, and said "You've read Pride and Prejudice?"

Draco ignored me and continued on. "...and I'm confused, because you're Daphne's sister! How could I not recognize you? Bloody hell, I didn't even know she had a sister!"

"Wait wait wait..." I interjected, still confused. "You've actually read Pride and Prejudice? Like, for real?"

He stopped his ramblings and looked at me. "Why are you so hung up on that?"

"But...you read it! It's a muggle book, and you read it!" I stood there, looking up at him in shock. "A muggle book!"

"Yes..." Draco looked at me strangely. "Ok...you know what, you're obviously brain fried from my utter hotness, which is understandable, so I'm just going to go..."

Any other time, I would have been angry, but at the moment, all I could say was, "You read it. You've actually read it."

Looking disturbed, Draco left me quickly, running away in his haste to distance himself from the "weird kid." In my shell shocked state, I managed to walk to my dorms, where unfortunately, Mira wasn't at, and called Pansy.

"Yes?" Pansy answered, sounding confused as to why I'm calling her.

"He actually read it. He actually read a muggle book!"

It was early morning when Mira's alarm clock went off. I waited impatiently under the covers for her to turn it off, yet she never did. After 15 seconds of waiting (yes, I'm very patient) I've had enough.

"Confringo!" The alarm clock blasted into bits as I rolled over and flopped onto my side. I was suprised that Mira wasn't yelling at me yet, but I guess miracles do happen.

As I sluggishly got up, I glanced over to Miras bed, only to discover she wasn't there. All that was left there were some old clothes, a plate of untouched brownies, and her wand. That's strange, she's always sleeping in...

I silently got dressed and decided that I had enough time to read a quick chapter of Pride and Prejudice, which, Draco apparently had actually read! I know, I was still in shock too. Yet, when I reached for my book, it wasn't there. The nightstand wasn't exactly spotless, so to speak, but rather, was "clean enough." Yet the place on my ashen desk where Pride and Prejudice usually sat, was nothing at all.

"I'm such a lummox!" I groaned, internally chastising myself. "I must have left it at the library!" Quickly, I slipped on a coat and rushed off to the library, taking great care not to wake anybody up. Scanning the library, I spotted the corner I sat at, and headed over, feeling immense relief that the book was still there. As I made haste to pick it up, the graffiti caught my eye.

This time however, I did not leave without sparing it a glance. Unexplainably, I found myself gripping my book, and drawing closer to the graffiti.

                                                                                  C.C & A.G

A dozen thoughts rushed through my head, and I could feel tears beginning to form. Air. I needed air. Stumbling out, I clutched my head and groaned. I needed to escape, to run, to not run, to get as far as possible, to stay, I needed to do something. With all the strength I could muster, I ran ungracefully back into my room and slammed the door. Hot tears glided down my face as I put my head in my hands.

Of all the graffiti I had to see, I had to see that one, I had to be reminded of...him.
