Bella's pov:

Since Ryuku started being nice to me today I felt like a weight was lifted off my shoulders. But at around 2 o'clock I suddenly felt like something was really off. To avoid undoing his hard work to be nice to me, Ryu had avoided since this morning, and I couldn't talk to Evie because she had the day off. So I was stuck by myself until the end of the day worrying about what was wrong.

When school ended I could see Brooke all over Ryuku again, which both grossed me out and disgusted me at the same time. I knew I didn't have the right to be annoyed but I was any way.

When I walked outside of school, there was about 100 guards waiting for me as I said goodbye to my friends. Ballnu and Shamu explained I needed extra protection and my father would explain when I got home.

And so we drove home and my entourage escorts me inside. I ran straight up to my father's office, where he was meeting up with a bunch of counsel members.

"Dad! I wish to speak with my father. You may leave." I ordered the men.

They bowed and ran out, Calder muttering I had awful manners, and I looked at my father.

"What I going on?! Why am I being followed by 100 guards?!" I demanded.

"You received an assassination threat. We're working to protect you. Evie knows about it and so she is trying to help us figure out what's going on." Dad replied. "Sweetie I know you don't like it but I need you to cooperate with this one."

I nodded. "Okay then. I'll try. What did the officials want?"

"I was hoping you wouldn't ask that." Dad answered as Mom and Evie came in.

"Ask what?" Mom smiled kissing his cheek.

"Oh, uh. Geez I didn't want to tell anyone this. My Dad is here." Dad replied.

"Your Dad as in the evil pirate who hurt Maddy!?" I yelled.

"Yes. Him. The guards escorted him through to the dungeons on my orders. I thought it was suspicious you got a death threat and then he shows up. But I haven't said anything because I'm worried about how Ant would react if he knew the guy who hurt his wife is in Lemuria." Dad smiled wryly.

A sudden thud shocked me into looking up at my visibly pissed off Uncle and my aunt who looked nervous.

"You mean to tell me hammerhead is here!?" Ant yelled slamming his hands on my dad's desk.

"Ant you need to calm down." My mom said firmly.

I don't think even Maddy could pull him out of this one. He yelled at some guards to go find his son and then glared at my father.

"Why the hell would you Bring him here!? You know what he's done and you choose to just let him come back?" Ant yelled.

"No I didn't. My men didn't know who he was, he'd lost a lot of weight since I'd last seen him. But he requested am audience with the King and that can't be rejected. So he came to see me and after realising it was Dad I locked him in the dungeon." Dad answered.

"But he hurt you and your sister. You should have had him executed! There's no way you could possibly trust him!" Ant growled.

"You're right there's not. And I never said I could trust him. But he didn't even put up a fight when we arrested him. All he said was give me a chance. For all his faults he is still my father, and while I don't trust him as far as I can throw him I'm a man of principal. He still doesn't deserve to be made to pay for mistakes be made years ago." Dad replied firmly.

"I hope you know what you're doing. If anything happens I'll say I told you so." Ant said.

"Maybe we should go see him." Mom said, taking dad's hand.

Dad smiled at her and they went off to see my grandpa. I went off to load up on some icecream.

Maddy's pov:

Dad was here? Even after everything, I couldn't see him as anything but my Dad like he was before we met the Nektons.

After Ant finished his rant and Fontaine and Finn went off to see my father I decided to try and see him too. Ant realised pretty fast and was really mad at me.

"Are you serious Maddy!? You're pregnant! He hurt you so badly you still have some scars. But you want to go down there and see him? I'm not letting you go." Ant said firmly and held on to Adrian.

"Ant I'm not asking you. I know you care about me and don't want to see me hurt. But I still want to see him. Finn has checked him out and is going to free him tomorrow. He's going to be living with us under strict watch. I might as well rip the band-aid off an see him." I replied.

Ant started to protest again and I silenced him by giving him a deep kiss. He groaned and returned it before I pulled away and smiled at him.

"You've got to stop doing that." Ant pouted. "And that didn't change my mind."

I giggled and shook my head. "I did that because I wanted to, not to change your mind. I'm going whether you like it or not."

He grabbed my hand and nodded to the guards who locked the doors to our room. "I will go see him. And then maybe I'll let you. He's definitely not seeing Adrian or you today."

Ant then used one of his runes leave the room and I huffed in frustration. I know he wants what's best for me, but he's too protective.

Bella's pov:

As I was eating my icecream, I finally got to think about the news my crazy grandpa was here.

I'd heard a lot of things about him. "He's greedy. He'll trade anything for money. He has not ever shown love to anyone."

Choosing to ignore my mother's request for once, I decided to sneak downstairs and check out what was happening. Before I even managed to escape I ran straight into someone, namely Ryuku.

"Gee, wonder what the kingdom would think if they found out even the Princess ignores her parents." Ryuku smirked. His tone was harsh, reminding me that the spell wasn't helping him anymore and making me a bit nervous.

"Um, how'd you know about that?" I asked.

"I was listening in on the conversation and resisting the urge to prank you again." Ryuku replied. "But your Mom is right. I know about everything that happened with that man. He may have passed my interrogation but I still don't trust him. It's really not safe to let you go."

"Slow down, what makes you think I'll listen to you? I'm perfectly fine going there and it's not like he'll see me." I glared at him.

Ryuku sighed. "Fine. At least let me come with you. So you're safe."

"You sure that spell isn't working? And fine come along. You won't see anything interesting."

Ryuku simply nodded and followed me though my portal and into the dungeons. I snuck around until I heard my parents voices and walked in their direction, stopping when Ryuku ran into me and we almost fell down Infront of my parents. I think mom would have killed me.

"Out of all the Princess' in this kingdom, your sister Azure included, you are by far the craziest of them all." Ryuku glared at me.

He held a hand on his sword and allowed me to listen in on the conversation my parents had with Hammerhead.

"Listen Finn, please. I'm not going to betray you!" The old man said.

"You may have passed our tests, but we do not for a split second trust you." Dad said.

"I deserve that son. And I know saying I'm not going to betray you won't convince you." Hammerhead said.

"Well look. The old man isn't as dumb as he looks." Mom hissed at him.

"Why are you here? Really." Dad demanded as the door slammed and Ant ran in, gripping the man by his throat.

"You son of a bitch! How dare you come back after everything you did?! Maddy lives with permanent reminders of your abuse. And you just want to waltz back in here and play happy familes?!" Ant growled.

His skin started to glow as his light started to react to his emotion. If he didn't stop soon he'd kill his father in law.

"Ant that's enough. Put him down." Dad ordered.

"Why are you defending him? He hurt your sister and I have a great number of ways we can make him pay for that." Ant smirked.

"Revenge is not the answer. I have passed his testing and he will be living with us until he does something wrong or proves we can trust him. Learn to get along with him, Ant. He's still my father. And if he really is sorry, who am I to not at least try to forgive him?" Dad said gently.

Hammerhead stood up at this point and bowed deeply. "I'm truly sorry Anteaus. It was a bad error on me own part and I lost control because of my own greed. But I only ask for a chance to make things right."

Ant huffed and glared at him. "I'm giving you one shot. Don't blow it or I'll kill you myself."

Hammerhead nodded and looked at Dad. "Am I allowed to meet ya kids?"

"Hmmm. Well maybe Bella and Evie but not the others yet. They aren't big enough to protect themselves." Dad replied. Woah hold up. Kai is very smart, and so are the triplets!

"Thank you." Hammerhead bowed, looking relieved. For once I couldn't see a hint of a lie on his face, making it hard to believe all the stories I'd heard about him. Right now, he just seemed like a defeated and sad man.

"Bella Nekton would you wake up? I'm not getting in trouble because you zone out right before your parents come!" Ryuku whispered.

A sudden realisation hit me, my parents would ground me till next Christmas if they found out about this. I grabbed Ryuku's hand opened a portal, throwing both of us through it and closing it quickly.

I landed right on top of Ryuku, and my eyes went wide as he did nothing but stare up at me. I couldn't pull my eyes away either, probably the whole sorta soulmate thingamajig.

"Hey, when you're done staring at me like some creep, can you get off please? You're heavy." Ryuku whined.

"I'm not heavy you dick, didn't your mother ever tell you not to mention a girl's weight to her?" I growled getting up.

Ryuku stood up, and his face morphed into a really angry one. "No. Why, you ask? Oh wait, you already know. She's dead. Bitch." He hissed, malice in every word.

"Woah Ryu I'm sorry I didn't mean to- " I began, guiltily.

Without waiting for me to reply, he stormed out, yelling to his team of guards to come with him down to training. Shit why did I say that?

Ryuku lost his whole family in the first war we waged against Aquaria. He never told us what happened but apparently he was there, and he changed for the worst, especially towards me when it happened.

Brushing off the guilt I felt and adjusting my dress, I climbed up and headed up to the roof since I'd portaled us into the library.

Everything is changing. My life, my family's life, my relationships, god why does being 18 have to be so confusing? This whole arrangement took a lot of strategic planning.

First, 3 weeks before our 19th birthday, Eldoris is supposed to propose to Evie. That's this weekend, Saturday.

Next, 4 months after that, about 3 months after our birthday, they get married.

Then it's me and Ryuku. 6 months after our birthday, Ryuku has to propose to me. 3 months after that, we get married. Our time period is shorter between engagement and marriage because the only reason we don't get married at the same time Evedoris does is because it would look really strange.

The difficult part is more Evie than me. For starters, by their second anniversary, they must have a born heir. Also, she has to be coronated as Queen by their 3rd anniversary and Eldoris will be King. Basically the only thing me and Ryuku really have to do is have a kid. And the kid only has to be in my stomach by our 2nd anniversary.

Sometimes I think it's every girl's dream somewhere along the line to be a Mom. To nurture and care for a child, to show them the love that you received.

The problem is, when you're being forced into having a child with someone who at best you dislike, it kinda puts a dampener on the whole having kids thing.

I distractedly wandered back into the main hall, and almost fell over my triplet siblings who were playing in there.

"Bella!" Azure squeaked, coming up and hugging me tightly around my legs.

"Oh hey bubs. Sorry I didn't see you." I apologized.

"That's ok! You seem sad, did Ryuku do something to you?" She demanded.

Zale frowned at her and looked up at me, expecting an answer. "No bubs. I'm just surprised our other granddaddy is here. I'm gonna go see Evie ok?" I smiled at them.

They all dove for my legs and hugged me, and then I walked upstairs and flopped my way into our room. Evie didn't notice me come in, and i googled at her as she balanced 12 books on her head and tried not to drop them. But she did anyway, so I used my magic to catch them as they fell.

"Eve, you know your posture is perfect, you shouldn't stress yourself. Plus, we all have a practice session tomorrow. You can worry about it then." I smiled, placing the books on the shelf.

"You're right, you're right. Anyways, are you ok? You seem down." Evie stated, patting the spot beside her on her bed.

I laid down there and placed my head on her knees, cuddling into her warm embrace. "I'm fine."

"No you're not. C'mon, what's up?" Evie asked.

"Well, I pissed Ryuku off. Again. But this time I think I deserved it." I sighed.

Evie pulled the blanket over me and gently braided my hair as she replied. "Ok. What happened then?"

"I mentioned his Mom. See he said I was heavy and I said didn't your mother ever tell you not to mention a girl's weight and he flipped." I sighed.

"It doesn't sound too bad Bel. Even though he's very upset about it and misses his family. It wasn't the best idea to bring up his Mom." Evie replied.

I frowned and buried my face a little. "I know. But you don't understand. When he was getting angry at me, his tone of voice was so angry, so full of malice, it was like he blamed me for them dying." I whispered.

Evie looked confused. "Well it's obviously not your fault. Maybe try asking him about it when he's cooled off a little."

"Are you nuts? If I ask him I'll risk him doing something nasty again. It'd be better to leave it." I said.

"That's true. I could ask Eldoris to see what he can find out." Evi offered.

"That could work. Thanks Eve." I smiled at my sister.

She grinned back and tickled me. "No worries. Hey, wanna go raid the pantry?"

I smirked and let my eyes glow a little. "This is probably going to bite me in the ass tomorrow, but hell yes."

The next day, Finn's pov:

"Your majesty! Calder requests audience with you." My guard announced, drawing my attention away from Fontaine.

She frowned at him and I nodded for him to enter, and in waltzed the man who was a constant thorn in my side.

"King Finn. For once I'm not here to pester you about those stupid boys you've chosen." Calder began.

That confused me. He didn't often come unless I called him, especially since he didn't agree with our choice for the twins.

"I don't understand, what do you wish to speak with me about?" I asked. Fontaine looked worried and he gulped before opening a letter from one of our spies in Aquaria.

"It appears some people from Lemuria have been captured and imprisoned in Aquaria since our battle 2 years ago. Our spy confirmed it because the Lemurians birthmark crest is on their upper arm." Calder replied.

"What?!" I thundered. "Please tell me we can get them out."

"It doesn't end there your majesty. Aquaria just declared war on our kingdom. And this time, it appears they are going to use something against us, the magic they have stolen from the men of ours." Calder explained.

As we were speaking, Coralie, Nereus and Glokas ran in, rapidly bowing an then passing me a letter.

"Your majesty, Aquaria was taken over by some crazy boy who Nereus used to think was the key to Lemuria. His name is- " Glokas began.

"Alpheus." Fontaine finished going pale.

"Yes, and he's deployed enemy guards around the border of Lemuria. He's openly declared war." Nereus nodded.

I called for my elite fighters and sent for more men. Whatever is happening now is not good.
