Third Person POV
Passawish waited until he got home to call his new friend, or should he say his new prospective boyfriend War. He did not want his father to listen in on his conversation with War.
"Thanks for the ride, Dad," he said to his father as soon as his father parked the car in their driveway.
Passawish ran into the living room with the intention of running up the stairs to his bedroom.
"What did War say when you handed him the school materials?"
Shit, his sister Carole was already home.
Passawish paused at the foot of the stairs.
"He said to thank you," Passawish replied.
"And that was it? He didn't say anything else?" asked his sister.
"I think he mentioned that he was gonna call you," said Passawish. "Hasn't he called you yet?"
"Not yet," his sister replied, "Maybe he will call me later."
"Yeah, maybe," Passawish said and bounded up the stairs, eager to end his conversation with his sister.
As soon as he closed the door to his bedroom, he tossed his backpack on top of his study desk and pulled his phone from his uniform pocket.
He tapped on War's number and transferred it to his Favorites list of contacts. He designated the name "My Prospective BF" to War's contact number. Then he tapped on it and waited for War to take his call.
"Answer, answer, answer, answer, answer." Passawish kept muttering impatiently under his breath as he waited for War to take his call.
"Fxxk," he cursed when his call got directed to War's voicemail.
"Hey." said Passawish as soon as he heard the beep to start his message. "This is Wish. I hope you have designated a name to my number and have placed it under your contacts list so that you will know when it's me that's calling you and not just some random stranger. And it would be a big plus if you were to deisgnate a personal ringtone to it as well. I have already done so with your number. Call me back, please. Please, please, please, please, please???"
There was a knock on his door.
It was their housekeeper Ling.
"Your mom and dad and your sister are waiting for you to join them for dinner," said Ling.
"Please tell them I will join them in a minute," said Passawish.
"How was your day, son?" Passawish's mother asked him when he kissed her on her forehead.
"It was great!" Passawish replied. "Ooh... I can't wait to eat!' he added upon seeing the red skinned fish smothered in sweet and sour gravy and surrounded with thin sticks of ginger and julienned yellow, green and red bell peppers.
As soon as he finished eating, Passawish excused himself and ran up the stairs to his bedroom and impatiently closed the door.
He pulled out his phone from his pocket and tapped on War's number once more.
"Answer, answer, answer, answer, answer," he tapped his finger impatiently on his study desk as he waited for War to take his call.
"War's phone," someone said on the other end.
"Who's this?" Passawish asked in an annoyed tone. Why was someone else holding War's phone? Where was he?
"Who are you?" the voice countered.
"His boyfriend," Passawish said defiantly. "Now give his phone back to him."
"He can't take your call right now," said the voice on the other end. "He's busy."
"Fxxk", Passawish muttered under his breath before cutting the call, not bothering to say good bye to whoever was holding War's phone.
Passawish took his school stuff from his backpack and tried to focus on working on his assignments.
When his assignments were completed he left his room to walk down the hallway to take his shower and brush his teeth before going to bed.
He tossed and turned in bed before falling asleep. In his sleep he dreamed of War. They were together in a green meadow with flowers of every kind and color. He and War were holding hands as they looked up at the sky to admire an enormous rainbow. Then he turned to face War and lowered his face to War. War looked up at him and smiled as he waited to receive his kiss.
