𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐎𝐍𝐄:
Too much PDA

HARPER INSTANTLY REGRETTED joining the so-called witnesses, and she didn't regret it when she was on the plane or when she landed in Washington. She regretted her decisions when the car was nearing the Cullen Residence with vampires scattered all over the area like pests.

Too. Many. People. Or vampires, whatever.

For fuck sake, she knows her social battery would be drained dry for the entirety of her stay here, which was about almost a month and a half. She mentally groans. Maybe her decision was a spur-of-moment thing, but she couldn't do anything because she was already in Forks, Washington.

The car came to a halt. She mentally and physically prepared herself and stepped out of the vehicle with a guarded expression. She and Garrett were greeted by a blonde man, a handsome man, she must admit, and a woman beside him, the blonde man's arm was wrapped around the woman's waist, and he had a gold ring on his finger. They're married.

Then Garrett's booming voice echoed, "Carlisle, my old friend! Long time no see!" Garrett pulls Carlisle towards him, giving him a tight hug, with Carlisle chuckling and hugging him back in return, a grin on his face.

Garrett pulls away as he pats Carlisle's back, and his eyes set towards the woman beside Carlisle. "Thalia! Beautiful as ever!" Taking Thalia's hand in his, placing a gentle kiss on the back of her hand, Thalia laughs softly and elegantly, dismissing him with a wave of her hand.

"Garrett the flatterer, I'm glad you agreed to come." Thalia gives him a grateful look which Garrett just grinned for in return, "No matter! I could never say no to Carlisle." Harper sighs. Garrett's mind is always occupied with these things, and he eventually forgets he has someone with him.

Harper clears her throat, crossing her arms and glaring at Garrett. Garrett gives her a shaky smile, "My apologies, Carlisle, Thalia, my beloved friend, Harper May Knight. Call her Ma–"

"Harper." She immediately intervenes, glaring at Garrett. She rolls her eyes, giving her hand out for them to shake, "You can call me Harper, a pleasure to meet you two finally. Garrett has told me plenty about you two."

"Really? Good things, I hope." Thalia beams, her eyes practically sparking delight and excitement.

"Always," Garrett assures Thalia.

"It's nice to meet you, Harper. I do hope you enjoy your stay here." Carlisle gives her a soft smile. His smile reminds her of a parental figure she always saw in the park or on television. Thalia and Carlisle reminded her of a parental figure she never had but always wanted.

Their coven is lucky to have them.

"If I may request, do you have a spare room? Where I can stay alone." Harper asks. It's better to be straightforward with what she wants, and she was never the one to stray from her intentions.

Thalia gives her a gentle nod, turning her head back towards the house as she points her finger in the direction of the atique, "You can get yourself comfortable in the atique, but I think Alistair already occupied it if you don't mind sharing it with him."

Harper minds. She really does.

"Any vacant bedrooms?" Harper asks with a hopeful tone. Garret snickers beside her, crossing his arms to his chest with a grin occupying his lips. He knows Harper always preferred being alone, but it doesn't necessarily mean she's lonely. She just likes her own company, so her being bothered about sharing a space with Alistair. Nonetheless, she's going to figure something else out.

Thalia looks at Carlisle with a tilt of her head, giving her a nod with an adoring smile. Thalia looks at Harper, saying, "Tanya's family already occupies the guest bedrooms, but Alice and Cordelia's bedroom is the most peaceful space in the house."

Harper raises a curious eyebrow, glancing at Garrett with him shrugging, "And they don't mind me staying in their bedroom?"

Carlisle dismisses it with a shake of his head, a strand of blonde hair falling to his cheek with Thalia smiling and her fingers, as if on instinct, combing it back to place. Harper almost groaned. Too much public display of affection, she must admit they are adorable, and by the looks of it, terribly in love with each other, she's not just used to...

Affection.

Carlisle winks at Thalia with a chuckle escaping his lips, continuing, "Alice and Cordelia left three days ago. We haven't heard of anything since then." His tone faltered a bit at the mention of his two coven members leaving unannounced, but from what Harper observed just about a minute after she arrived and from Garrett's stories, the Olympic Coven is more than just a coven. They are a family with actual attachment to one another, unlike other covens who are emotionally unavailable with one another.

A family that she had wanted for a long time, somewhere she wished she could belong to.

Thalia gently rubs Carlise's arms with her hand, trying to soothe his frown. She leans on his shoulder as Carlisle tightens his hold on Thalia's waist. "You two are really making me jealous with all this affection display," Garrett says with a teasing tone, his hands motioning towards the said couple.

Harper guesses. Garrett also noticed their sweetness and couldn't help himself.

"Would you like me to go with you? To Alice and Cordelia's bedroom?" Thalia asks, and Harper smiles gratefully, "That would be most welcome."

"Well, I'm famished," Garrett announced, rubbing his stomach as Harper took her luggage from the car.

"You already know where to hunt, Garrett." Carlisle nods. Garrett has been in the Forks numerous times. He's already familiarized himself with the Cullen's territory. As for Harper, she seems pretty skeptical about what was unfolding in her surroundings.

Garrett looks at Harper, wiggling both his eyebrows while Harper scrunches her face, rolling her eyes while smoothing out her features as her eyes set on Carlisle, "I packed my own blood bags, but it can only last me for a week, do you have supply?"

Carlisle, a bit shocked, covers his expression smoothly with a nod. He never did expect any of his vampire guests to pack their own blood bags, and they favor it fresh from the vain. "That's why the car ride is so scrumptious," Garrett licks his lips playfully while Thalia laughs. "Go hunt, Garrett. I bet you're hungry."

"Don't have to tell me twice," Garrett says as he winks at them, instantly disappearing in a blink of an eye. Harper sighs tiredly.

"Make yourself feel at home, Harper," Thalia tells her with a warm smile that brings something unfamiliar to her. It feels motherly, and Harper couldn't help but be surprised by her thought. She didn't notice a bronzed-haired vampire smiling from afar as he read her mind.
