The oceans turned dark, their waves pulling against the shores gently, and hundreds of trapper ships were all sailing near an island.

The air was foggy, the sun making it glow an eerie yellow.

A man stands inside of a winged structure being carried by four dragons tied by chains.

The dragons make clicking sounds as they land, setting the man down with growls.

"Archers!" A guard yells, his men taking aim from ontop a watch tower. The man walks forward, the dragons following closely behind with low hisses.

"Deathgrippers.." One of the men mumble from above, watching the dragons with distaste.

The stranger stops, smirking at the sound of men clamoring and dragons roaring ahead.

A Gronckle struggles in its binds, a large blue and purple dragon snarling viciously as he tries to break the chains. A Nadder races off, flying before being shot down by a net.

A Nadder whines in fear at the sight of the Deathgrippers, curling into a ball.

A group of guards look over a large map, miniature boats laying on the side.

"The dragon riders attacked us here, off the eastern strait." a guard says, pushing their boat forward with a grunt.

Another guard takes a boat, imitating an explosion as he collides it with his boat.
"Ragnar!" A woman scolds.

"Um..sorry."

"My dear warlords!" A raspy voice greets, making them gasp and turn. "How go your plans to conquer the world?"

He removes his hood, his platinum blond hair sticking up in different directions, his face was long, almost sunken in as his eyes gleamed in the light, a mischievous glint hiding behind them.

The man (Ragnar), lets out a laugh, playfully swinging his fists, "Grimmel! My old friend, thank you for coming-!"

As he goes to hug Grimmel, a Deathgripper tackles him, snarling as he nervously laughs.

"A year since Drago's defeat, and no further along with your dragon army, I see," Grimmel nods, rolling his eyes with a smirk as he approaches the map.

"You can thank the young Chief of Berk and his little girlfriend for that," a woman replies, spitting at the mention of Hiccup and (Y/N).

"Stoick's boy?" Grimmel questions, pausing as he recalls his old friends names. "..and (F/N)'s girl, well isn't that something."

Ragnar struggles under the Deathgripper, recoiling in disgust at the saliva dripping from its mouth.

"They and their peace-loving dragon riders raid our ships," Ragnar tries to hold the dragon back. "And steal our dragons!"

Grimmel hums boredly, looking at the woman with a frown. "That does sound like a nuisance." He agrees before shaking his head. "But I'm in the business of killing dragons, not retrieving them."

"But Grimmel!" Ragnar scrambles out from under the dragon, panting heavily as he rushes after him.

"That idiot boy and girl have done all of the work for you, gathering the dragons in one place," Grimmel informs, walking past the struggling dragons.

"Why bother me?"

"Because...the flock is protected by a Night Fury and a Woolly Howl!"

Grimmel pauses mid-step, his eyes widening before he quickly shakes his head.

"Not possible."

"It seems two slipped through your fingers," an older man scoffs.

"Look," Ragnar sighs. "Berk's dragons will follow the Alpha and his Commander. So, we'll pay you to capture them and bring the flock to us." He pauses, continuing in a sing-song.

"We even have your favorite baits!"

Grimmel raises a brow, turning to where the man pointed. Inside a cage were the Light Fury and Woolly Howl, the Light Fury hiding her face with her wing, and the Howl avoiding eye contact with the mad man.

"The only dragons they left us from last night's raid."

"Two females? Hmm."

The Woolly Howl turns her head, her mouth muzzled and teeth poking out. She stares at Grimmel silently before ducking her head, and roaring to her companion.

The Light Fury wraps tighter into a ball, cooing softly in fear as she hides in her wings.

"So, do we have a deal, old friend?" Ragnar holds out his hand with a smirk.

A dragon roaring catches their attention, the large purple and blue dragon escaping from the men's grip and charging at Grimmel.

"Look out!" People yell, scrambling about and rolling out of its way.

Grimmel turns with a bored expression, swiftly drawing his crossbow and firing it at the dragon, it hits dead center, the dragon roaring in pain before collapsing, it's body gliding against the ground before coming to a stop.

"When all is said and done," Grimmel speaks as the dust clears, the group looking at him.
"This young Chief and his Maiden will bring me the Night Fury and Woolly Howl.."

Grimmel turns, dusting off his coat as he walks away.

"They don't have a leader, just a boy."

...

Berk, 16 years ago

"Hiccup.." Stock's voice softly calls, his son in his arms. "This is Berk, son."

Hiccup looks around in awe, grinning slightly.

"It's our home."

The sun sets in the distance, peeking through the clouds, a gorgeous pink and yellow light gliding across the sky.

"It was the home of your grandparents, and their grandparents before them."

Stoick nods to his son, a small smile on his face as he looks out to sea.

"And it's my job as Chief to protect us, Hiccup. And one day...when you're all grown up, that job will be passed on to you."

Stick playfully boops his nose with his finger, Hiccup jerking back before nodding with a gummy smile.

"Okay."

"And it's very important, son. Because out there, beyond the sunset.." Stock points across the sea, sighing softly.

"Lies the home of the dragons.."

"Wow!" Hiccup softly gasps. Stoick chuckles at his sons reaction, nodding before continuing.

"Legends tell of ships that sailed too close to it, only to drop off the edge of the world, never to be seen again."

Hiccup looks between the sea and his father with wide eyes, gasping in horror.

"But those sailors who turned back told tales of a great waterfall, and dragons guarding the entrance to a Hidden World." Stoick continues, gesturing as he speaks.

"Whoa." Hiccup breathes out in awe, looking up at Stoick.

"Not just a Nest, Hiccup. But a land from which all dragons come."

"Even Night Furies?" Hiccup questions, tilting his head with a frown.

"Especially Night Furies!" Stoick chuckles, shaking his head. Hiccup giggles, shaking his head before pausing and shuddering.

"They sound scary.."

"Don't you worry." Stoick gently says, looking down at Hiccup. "One day I'll find the Hidden World and seal it up, so that people and dragons will fight no more."

"Stoick!" A voice rings out, both Hiccup and his father turn, smiling when they notice (F/N) jogging towards them, a small girl on his shoulders.

"Hiccup!!" The girl calls, waving her arms around before gasping as she nearly falls off, reaching up she hugs her fathers head, both giggling as they come to a stop.

"(Y/N)!" Hiccup smiles brightly, wiggling out of his fathers arms and racing towards the Commander.

(Y/N) jumps from her fathers shoulders and races towards her friend, both meeting in the middle and tackling eachother in a big hug.

The impact of their hug causes them to tumble to the ground, (F/N) laughing and pointing to the two with a large grin.

The two scramble to their feet, bidding goodbye to their fathers and racing down the hill, shoving eachother playfully and giggling as they disappear into the woods.

(F/N) chuckles at the two, shaking his head before making his way towards Stoick, a gentle smile on his face.

Stoick smiles, patting his friend on the back before wrapping his arm around his shoulders, bringing him to his side as the two look out towards the sea.

The two remain silent, their faces remaining firm as they look out, thinking of a future where they'd never have to fight dragons again, where they could all live in peace.

Little did they know, their dream would become reality, and their children would be the ones to fight for that future.
