Calm your knickers

A GRADUATION PARTY.

While Bella was nervous that no one would arrive, Edward assured her that everyone was thrilled to finally see the inside of the reclusive Cullens' mystery house.

The house's interior has been transformed into a nightclub with red and purple lights, making the Cullens' skin react very...oddly.

A meeting took place in the living room, as no one had arrived yet.

They probably had a gathering and agreed to arrive as a group, as any teenager would at a party, to avoid being murdered and experimented on for plastic surgery by a particular doctor.

The family discussed their attack on the army in Seattle, making Bella listen in horror.

The family could tell that Jasper was not pleased with how the numbers stood, with Tanya's family unwilling to help because of Irina's involvement with Laurent and him getting ripped to shreds by the shapeshifters.

But they did agree under one condition.

Irina wants revenge. To take down the pack, they would trade their help for permission.

Of course, Carlisle said no. He disagreed with violence and murder, excluding what occurred two years ago.

The family was tense with the entire newborn army's plan to attack.

Jasper was desperate.

He was sure they would win.

With his experience from the Southern Vampire Wars, he could easily take down the newborns independently, but this time it was different.

His whole family was involved.

It was an easy win, but at what cost?

The doorbell rang.

Bella's friends arrived in a group, either too intimidated or nervous about coming independently.

They entered the house with curious and critical eyes, then became overwhelmed with Alice's decoration of a chic rave.

All at once, everything turned surreally normal. A genuine, warm smile replaced the stress on Carlisle's face, and Thalia was a bit doubtful. How could she not be? A teacher at a party is not a good combination.

She was sure someone would spike the cranberry juice with vodka and try to get as wasted as they possibly could and dance on the dance floor, which Alice had turned the living room into, and teenagers would sweat a lot.

Sweat with heightened senses is a huge no-no.

Goodness, Thalia loathed teenage parties; she had enough of them when she was a teenager herself.

As a teacher, she never volunteered for chaperoning, but for Alice's sake, she'll stay in Carlisle's office and read.

For Cordelia, a party sounds interesting. It's been a while since she attended one. She remembered when she entered college at one of Paris's prestigious universities back in the 90s when she altered James' and Victoria's memories that she was in Atlanta, United States.

Cordelia's two words to describe the rave culture back in the 90s: rebellious and youthful. The parties are located underground in the Parisian banlieue.

Carefree teenagers go about their lives while dancing to blasting, expressive European techno and American house music, creating an intense sense of escapism and nostalgia.

Cordelia admits that parties back then were not her scene. She would usually spend her night painting or reading if she weren't dealing with her appetite, but she certainly enjoyed the rave parties back in Paris.

"You're scaring the kids, Emmett," Cordelia approaches Emmett, where he is standing in the corner of the room with his arms crossed in front of his chest with a grin, the red lights gleaming in his teeth.

Emmett looked at the Mike kid over the food table, making the boy take a step back, his eyes terrified. Cordelia snorts, and a laugh escapes her lips.

Emmett laughs with her as he shakes his head and says, "And it's fun. You've seen his face. I should've brought a camera with me,"

"And make a video showing those teenagers getting fascinated with finally seeing Cullen's mysterious show house," Cordelia tells him, adding in hushed tones for only Emmett to hear, "Teenagers entering a modern vampire's lair."

Cordelia's idea was considered, and he went upstairs to his bedroom to find where his camera was. Rosalie walks toward Cordelia with a small smile.

She had heard their conversation from the stairs, "You should stop encouraging him," yet with the way Rosalie told Cordelia, Rosalie was not against the idea.

"I remember my brother in Emmett. They share a similar trait; they are playful. I quite like that about him," Cordelia answers with a blissful smile as her mind wanders to every memory she has of her brother.

"Emmett is carefree. Go with the flow person. My wife also adored that about him." Rosalie responds, her smile genuine. She's happy that Cordelia joined the family and that Alice felt complete with her.

That's all she ever wanted: for her family to be safe and happy.

Rosalie's phone rang. She looks at the screen and sees the name-calling. Cordelia could see how Rosalie's face lit up with happiness; it was her wife calling.

"Speaking of my wife, I'll take this," Cordelia nods as Rosalie exits the house away from the blaring music.

Then, her eyes went towards the stairs, where Alice stood frozen. Alice's eyes were stressed yet horrified at what she was seeing.

Cordelia immediately walked in her direction, concerned, stopping herself from running toward Alice at an inhuman pace.

"What did you see, Alice?" Cordelia heard Bella ask, and Alice looked at Jacob before turning to face Bella, clearly choosing to let them hear.

Cordelia then noticed Bella talking to Alice and the shapeshifters following behind, with Jacob demanding to know what was going on and blocking Alice and Bella's path with his arm.

"The decision has been made."

"You're going to Seattle?"

"No."

Bella's face was drained of color. "They're coming here."

"What's going on?" Jacob demands it again.

"Let's have this conversation in private, where no one can hear us. We wouldn't like your protected humans to be scared of what they heard, do you?" Cordelia approaches them, her eyes directed towards Jacob, her head tilted as she raises a challenging eyebrow.

"Did you think that an arm blocking their path could stop them from getting away from you?" Cordelia asks Jacob as she rolls her eyes as Alice takes her hand.

"We have the right to know," Jacob answers Cordelia. She scoffs and says, "Take your paw back, or I will use it to smash your face."

Jacob slowly pulled his arm back, assuming that he wanted to keep his arm and leave with his face still intact.

Cordelia steps between them, and the three shifters brace themselves as they know what happened to Bella: Jacob couldn't keep his hands or lips to himself.

"Hey, hey," Bella says and adds, "This is a party, remember?"

"It's okay, Cordelia. He has a point," Alice tells her as Eloise briefly mentioned something to her in their last conversation about how entering a fight with more numbers has a higher chance of winning and remembering how Jasper reacted when Tanya and her family refused to help them.

Alice led them towards the patio outside, away from prying ears, followed by Edward, Thalia, Carlisle, Jasper, and Rosalie, with Rosalie's wife still on the other side of the line.

"They're coming here to Forks in four days," Alice tells them anxiously. As Cordelia instinctively took her hand, she laced Alice's fingers with her own.

Jasper's expression was disapproving; he didn't like discussing this information with the wolves.

Then suddenly, Rosalie's wife spoke; the call was on speaker, her voice desperate, "I should come home, Rosalie, please,"

"Rosa-" Edward begins but quickly closes his mouth when Rosalie casts an icy glare his way.

"You shut your mouth." Rosalie starts and continues as the words are emphasized, "Edward Anthony Mason-Cullen, this is a discussion for my wife and me only," Rosalie warned as the rest of the family on the patio, including the shifters, went silent as they listened in on the conversation.

"If you ever book a flight here, I will ensure that you won't have a house to come home to." Rosalie threatens, but her wife knows better.

Of course, Rosalie was concerned for her safety, but of course, she was too.

Rosalie's wife replies, "You can't do that. You love me."

"And I will unlove you if you do," Rosalie immediately says.

"Can't. Marriage says no refunds."

"And I'll divorce you then."

"Honey, we've been married six times. I'll take my chances with this one, "

"If you booked a flight, I will know. " Rosalie then looks at Alice, not caring if they hear the conversation. "Expect six divorce papers at your front door, honey."

"You wouldn't."

"Oh, yes, I will."

Then it went to FaceTime, as Rosalie and her wife had a stare-off for a full minute.

Then Rosalie's wife irritably curses, silently admitting that she can never win a stare-off with Rosalie since they've known and married each other.

"Fine, fine, you win." Rosalie's wife admits her defeat and continues, "Jasper, expect a call later, Rosy. This conversation is not over," Rosalie hangs up the phone as the family looks at her. She walks towards the woods, rolling her eyes.

"Let's continue where we left off, shall we?" Carlisle asks them, and as he wraps his arm around Thalia's waist, they nod, and the panic for the newborn army returns.

"We can't let them come that far." Jasper begins as his eyes skeptically scan the shapeshifters and continue. "There aren't enough of us to protect the town." His jaw hardens at the thought of a reckless and bloodthirsty newborn in Forks.

They'll drain this town in a matter of days.

"This could turn into a bloodbath," Carlisle says as he purses his lips, leaning on a nearby table.

"Who's behind it?" Edward asks.

"I didn't see anyone I recognized, maybe one," Alice says as she purses her lips.

A thick British accent cut through their conversation; the voice was poised yet commanding at the same time. "A newborn army monitored by Riley Biers."

"I estimated the number to be about 10-25 newborns. They are untrained, stupidly reckless, and bloodthirsty."

Entering the balcony, the shapeshifters recognized her as the vampire who almost caught Victoria. They moved towards her until Jasper blocked their path.

"I've returned, and I come bearing news." Eloise continued with gentle courtesy.

"Peter's been observing Seattle's newborn problem for a week. And has been keeping in touch with me since I left New York to come here," Eloise informs them.

Jacob then says, while looking at the Cullens, "Okay, what the hell, do you even know who she is?"

Eloise scoffs.

Rude.

"I recall being here on the weekend when one of your pack members interfered with me finally catching Victoria. Calm your knickers, boy. The adults are talking,"

Cordelia hides a smile. Oh, she likes Eloise. Edward almost laughed, but Bella looked at him in disappointment.

Carlisle and Thalia silently agreeing in their head that interrupting a person while they are talking is extremely rude and disrespectful.

When Alice chuckled, it was evident that Eloise was still holding a grudge when their pack member intervened with her, almost catching Victoria.

Jasper just looked highly smug.

Jacob looks offended, but a shapeshifter mutters in agreement, "She has a point, Jake."

Eloise grins as she clears her throat to get everyone's attention. "As I was saying before, I was rudely interrupted. When Alice told me that she couldn't see further into her visions, it was because Riley was the one making the decisions. He's leading the army."

"Hold up. What damn army?" Jacob asks confusedly.

"Newborns. Our kind," Carlisle answers before Eloise can utter a remark.

"What are they after?" A shapeshifter asks.

"They were passing around Bella's scent, a red blouse," Alice informs them of what she saw earlier, looking at Eloise. That just confirmed one of Eloise's suspicions.

"They're after, Bella? What the hell does that mean?"

"It means a bloodshed fight and ends with deaths," Eloise says, making Thalia look at Carlisle worriedly, remembering the number of newborns Eloise estimated.

She didn't know if the death of a vampire would affect her as much as human death would since vampires are technically dead. Carlisle soothed her by placing a peck on Thalia's forehead.

With a nod, Jacob looks toward his two friends and says, "Alright, we're in."

"No." With a shake of her head, Bella disagrees, "No way. You'll get yourselves killed."

"I wasn't asking for permission."

Eloise rolls her eyes. A very manly thing to say.

"We all know that you don't." Cordelia scoffs.

"Edward." Bella looks at him, eyes pleading. "It means more protection for you," Edward answers.

When fighting, tactics and strategies are easily acquired with decades of experience; they need the numbers.

Carlisle wraps an arm around Thalia's waist, his thumb brushing against the fabric. Carlisle looks at Jacob and asks. "Jacob, do you believe Sam would agree to an understanding?"

"As long as we get to kill some vampires," Jacob answers as the two shape-shifters agree.

"Eloise, Jasper?" Carlisle asks, his eyes switching between the two.

"They'll give us the numbers. Newborns won't know they even exist. That'll give us an edge." Jasper agrees.

"And proper training is in order, I believe," Eloise says, looking towards Jasper, whose eyes are already set in her direction since she arrived.

Jasper moves towards Eloise, intertwining his hand with hers. Jasper gave her a single nod of agreement.

"We'll need to coordinate," Carlisle says.

"Carlisle, they'll get hurt," Bella tells him, her voice pleading.

"We'll all need some training." Carlisle tells them and continues, "Fighting newborns requires knowledge that Eloise and Jasper have. You're welcome to join us."

"All right. Name the time and place." Jacob says with a heavy sigh.

"Jake, you don't know what you're getting yourself into." Bella tries to change his mind again.

"Bella, this is what we do. You should be happy. Look at us, working together. You are the one who wanted us to get along. Remember?" Jacob asks Bella with a grin.

"Well, I do agree with that. Isn't the existence of your kind created to kill vampires?" Eloise asks with a teasing grin and a tilt of her head, "Bella, you wouldn't want his entire existence to be irrelevant, won't you? Let the poor boy do his job, or the creator of his existence will be put to shame."

Jacob releases an irritating noise as Eloise winks at him. She leads Jasper towards the forest, and their stroll comes to a sudden halt.

Jasper spun her around. She released a gasp of surprise as her hand went to his chest, his hands on her waist, balancing her.

"Is there a reason we're not kissing yet?" Jasper asked his voice deep. Eloise grins and answers.

"Mainly the height difference."
