The Truth
"I GOT YOU TONGUE-TIED, FUNNY. THALIA ELIE BENNET IS SPEECHLESS."
"Liam," Thalia whispers as she tries to back away and rush towards the front door.
"Ha! Not so fast, my Thalia, we're not finished yet," Liam shouts, flicking his wrist as every lock in the building shut.
With a sadistic smile, he walks around and hops on the counter, sitting crossed-legged to face Thalia. "You're not getting away that easily."
Thalia looks around to see the diners talking as if nothing is wrong. Confused, she looks at Liam. "What did you do?"
Liam's forehead furrowed, and he takes a glance at his surrounding, his mouth turning into an O shape, and casually answers, "Oh, that, I just did a little, something, something, they don't know what's happening, they'll act as if they don't see us, they'll forget everything once we are done." At the same time, his hands move around, his fingers realizing black dusts.
"What do you want?" Thalia demands, trying to soothe herself as much as possible. She can't show Liam that she's afraid to die. It'll satisfy him even more.
"Ugh, not even an-" Liam sneers while making a quoting sign with his fingers, "'I miss you, Liam' Why do you have to ruin the fun."
"Is this supposed to be fun?" Thalia asks with a scoff as she tries to take her phone from her back pocket and long presses the side of her cellphone, making it dial an emergency number, which is Carlisle's number.
Carlisle, on the other line, answers and is confused about why Thalia isn't conversing, so he decides to wait, thinking that Thalia is probably ordering her cup of coffee.
"Yes! Old ex-lovers reunited in a cafe. I can already see Eros' bow on its way," Liam laughs as he repeatedly pats his knee, and Carlisle ends the call and rushes towards the cafe, not caring if any people see his speed. His only thought is to get Thalia away from Liam.
"Why do you have to do this here?" Thalia desperately asks as she looks around the cafe, her eyes landing on some children with their parents. She purses her lips and looks at Liam.
"I like an audience," Liam answers and looks behind her and smiles widely, and continues, "Like your blonde lover boy over there, isn't it theatrical?"
Thalia turns around and sees Carlisle trying to open the door, using his strength. However, it's useless. He tries to break the glass, yet, nothing happens.
"He's just tiring himself. I'm not stupid. I know he's going to rescue his damsel, and of course, let's not forget the rest of them," Liam says with a huff while rolling his eyes.
He is irritated by the fact that the so-called 'Cullens,' a family of vegetarian vampires, is with Thalia.
Hopping off the counter, he strides towards her and circles around her as if a predator hunting its prey.
Thalia's breath hitched. She doesn't know what to do. She's clueless, afraid, she's frightened. Confronting your past abuser isn't exactly butterflies and rainbows.
"I thought you were with Queenie," Thalia says with a gulp, her palm sweating. Breathing heavily, she looks at Liam expecting his answer.
"Killed her the minute you left me, just wasted my time. You know I love you, Thalia."
Her blood runs cold, and that is when Thalia knows that the person she is talking to is responsible for the murders that are going around Manhattan.
"You love me!? Or do you love the way you abused me?" Thalia furiously asks as she tries not to shed a tear, remembering what he has done to her on a daily basis back then.
"I never meant to hurt you, Thalia," Liam softly whispers as he stops in front of her and tucks a strand of brown hair behind her ear while Thalia flinches at the contact.
Liam takes hold of her hand as Thalia tries to shake it off, and Liam's hold gets tighter. She tries to back away. However, Liam stops her, terror-stricken. She doesn't move.
"You never hurt the person that you love."
"And I'm sorry! I should have never done it. Give me a second chance!" Liam yells. Thalia flinches at the tone of his voice. She looks at Carlisle, who is still banging the glass door, saying 'No!'.
"Abusers shouldn't get second chances."
"I'm not an abuser," Liam declares while shaking his head, a look of annoyance in his face.
"Says the manipulator" Thalia releases a breath as Liam places a hand on her waist, her tears betraying her.
She looks away from him. However, Liam places a hold on her face, making her face him.
"Don't cry. I'm not going to hurt you. Well, if we were doing this weeks ago, I would have killed you," Liam admits casually while looking straight into Thalia's eyes, placing a thumb underneath her eye, and wiping her fallen tears, "You don't have to worry. My love overpowered my hatred for you."
Thalia removes his hand from her face and takes a step back. Looking behind her and sees Carlisle trying to break every single possible entrance in the cafe, she looks him straight in the eyes and asks, "Isn't your consciousness eating you? After killing all of those women?"
"Not even a bit!" Liam answers without doubt or hesitancy, lacing in his voice a wicked laugh escaping his lips.
"But I only did that because you broke my heart, Thalia. I love you, and you left me," he pouts, placing both of his hands on his chest with a mocking look of heartbreak spreading on his features.
"You don't love me. You just don't want to be alone."
"Maybe! Maybe not! In the end, we'll always be together."
