Isabella '𝘉𝘦𝘭𝘭𝘢' Swan
AFTER THALIA GOT DROPPED OFF at the school's main entrance, the others decided to wait in the parking lot since they were an hour early.
Going to the front office to record her attendance, Mrs. Cope never got used to their presence. The redhead is always mesmerized by their appearance.
Edward told her that every time he talks to the woman, she always tries to dismiss her inappropriate thoughts of him and thinks of her son, that is the same age as him.
"Good morning, Mrs. Cope," Thalia greets while she walks towards an empty table with an old computer and encodes her name and time of arrival, while the old redhead just stares at her in admiration.
"Mrs. Cullen is such a good teacher, always early to arrive at school. Mr. Banner couldn't even stay awake in his morning classes." the woman thinks to herself as she shakes her head and smiles at Thalia.
"Morning, Thalia. We're expecting a new student today, Chief Swan's daughter," Mrs. Cope informs her, and Thalia nods. She remembered Charlie mentioning yesterday that he'll pick up her daughter at the airport.
"Well, I hope she enjoys her stay here in Forks," Thalia says as she walks towards the front door.
Then Mrs. Cope adds, "The Chief came by the other day when he submitted her records. He specifically requested for you to be her English teacher. Who wouldn't say no to that kind man."
Thalia turns around and smiles, then Mrs. Cope finds herself in a trance of admiration again. Thalia clears her throat as the woman looks at the brunette, and Thalia says, "Then I'll be expecting her, have a good day, Mrs. Cope" As she exits the front office, she hears the woman whisper 'you too' on the way.
Entering her classroom, she opens the light pink curtains designed with a sparkle of silver that she placed.
With the help of Alice and Rosalie, she designed the classroom, adding her personal touch to every corner of the room. It was the most classically designed classroom in the school.
That's why every student is always gathered early outside. It gives a certain cozy and homey aura instead of the gloomy and dull atmosphere that the school provides.
The last bell rang, and students that are gathered outside of her classroom started entering and sitting in their choice of area.
Then she smells it, the sweet scent of blood. Now Thalia doesn't easily get tempted by human blood. The family knew that her love for humanity overcame her blood lust.
The scent doesn't necessarily scream, 'Go frenzy.' It just makes her uncomfortable. She was glad that Carlisle went hunting yesterday.
Speaking of hunting, Thalia doesn't consider herself going on a hunt, not that she doesn't like the idea of killing animals (she doesn't adore it), but it was just too messy for her.
Dirt and blood don't mix well. Her only request is that Carlisle fills a bottle of wine or two of animal blood for her.
Emmett teased her for being so clean, and Thalia saw how he hunted and played with his food. It was a sight to see. However, getting muddy isn't her forte.
The girls understood her reason and immediately requested for the men of the family to hunt for them. They all questioned why they didn't think of this sooner?.
Back to the present, she sees a teenage girl with a heart-shaped face, straight and sleek brunette hair, her chocolate-brown eyes widely spaced apart, and her lips too thick for her thin jawline.
Thalia thought that this girl has the same features as Charlie, and she immediately remembered that his daughter had been assigned to her English class. The woman smiles warmly at her.
Bella Swan looked at the brunette before her with wide eyes, surprised at how gorgeous her English teacher was.
With her unusually snowy skin, just like herself, she thought she wasn't the only one with a pale complexion in this town, and her lushes softly curled brunette hair, those eyes reminded her of the gem topaz.
"You must be Isabella
Swan-" Thalia says as Bella wakes up from her stare trance and shyly corrects, "Just Bella."
Thalia nods in understanding. She remembered briefly Charlie mentioning that she doesn't prefer being called, 'Isabella.'
"-Well, Bella, you can sit at the back."
Thalia knows how hard it is to be a new student in a small town and how shy the girl is. The woman doesn't want Bella to feel uncomfortable and overwhelmed during her class period.
From Bella's perspective, she couldn't help but feel thankful for the woman in front of her for putting her in the back seat of the class. Bella continues to walk inside. As she was close to the woman Thalia spoke up and said, "I'm Thalia Elie. You can call me Thalia, no formality needed."
Bella nods shyly as she proceeds to awkwardly walk towards her seat, ignoring her classmate's stolen stares, and Thalia just chuckles quietly and turns around to face the blackboard as she writes her lesson for today.
To kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee.
Bella is intrigued. She hasn't read this book yet, and she is very interested to read it now.
"Read 1-10 chapters first, a discussion tomorrow, then a report that will be passed next week, Friday, as always," Thalia says as she turns around to face her students, and they just give her a smile and a nod.
They always love how Thalia is so considerate and kind to them. They always love listening to her, with her smooth and angelic voice. They couldn't get enough of it.
"I'll do the honor of reading the first chapter, and after that, please do read the rest silently," Thalia tells them, and they all make a noise of agreement with 'Yes' and 'Nice.'
"When he was nearly thirteen, my brother Jem got his arm badly broken at the elbow. When it healed, and Jem's fear of never being able to play football were assuaged..."
