Birthdays
WARMTH.
That is what Thalia felt spread through her body. Fluttering her eyes open, she sees those gorgeous topaz eyes already looking at her with a smile on his handsome face, his hair disheveled from their night escapades.
She lazily smiles at him and scoots further into his body, skin to skin, and buries her face on his bared, chiseled chest, resulting in a light laugh emitting from his chest.
The bedroom is silent, and it's only 7 AM in the morning. After all, the sun has already risen, causing the sunlight to enter the bedroom from the partially closed curtains, touching their skin and causing a slight sparkle to trace their exposed skin.
"Happy Birthday, my love," Carlise greets, his voice gentle and soothing in her ears.
He places a long kiss on top of her head, wrapping an arm around her waist and pulling her closer. Thalia wraps a leg around his waist.
She hums in response as she gently pulls away from him and leans forward, placing a kiss on his lips, and mumbles, "Thank you, sweety."
"I planned a day for us," Carlisle says with a proud smile. Of course, he did. He always planned her birthday ahead of time.
Carlise reasoned that she was the only one in the family who actually remembered the date of her birth, well, except for Rosalie, who also celebrates her birthday every year and has one of her extravagant birthday weeks.
"And I'm very much interested in what you planned," Thalia tells him. She really is. Everything he plans never fails to surprise her.
She really wasn't over the fact that he bought an island and named it after her and that he bought her car, a house in a city in Switzerland, and a lot more things to the list of things that Carlisle spoiled her with.
Thalia told him to stop spending money on her, which Carlisle immediately dismissed. He told her that when Alice told him of a vision of being Thalia, he opened a new vault which was especially for her and to be spent for her and her wants and needs.
"It's a surprise," Carlise tells her as he sits back, his back on the headboard.
They liked, no adored spending their time in bed. Yes, vampires don't sleep, but the thought of spending time alone with each other and holding each other close with their eyes closed, basking and soaking in each other's presence, was enough rest for them that it feels like sleeping, and the time passes by quickly.
"As I expected just as much," Thalia says, wrapping the blanket around her naked form, and sits beside him, leaning on his shoulder, placing a hand on his chest, tracing circles on his chest. "Whatever you planned, I'm very certain I will love it just as much as I love you."
Carlise's undead heart flutters, it didn't matter how much they said those three words to one another, but it never damned failed to make him feel so warm and full of love, and if he's being honest, he didn't want the feeling to stop, and he knows it never will, as long as he's with Thalia, the love of his life.
He places an arm around her waist, pulling her close. "I love you more than life itself."
"And I the same," Thalia says as she leans forward, placing another kiss on his lips.
"How is he?" Thalia suddenly asks a question that has been bugging her for a few weeks now.
It has been two months since they left Forks, since they left Bella, and since Edward and the rest of the family split up, for the meantime.
It doesn't take Carlisle to guess who the 'he' is. Edward, his first adoptive son.
Carlise, too, has been very worried about him. Ever since they left Forks, Alice has been keeping an eye out on him.
For now, as reckless as it seems, Edward is hunting Victoria, which Thalia and Carlisle disapprove of, and they can't exactly do anything.
Edward is a grown man capable of making his own decisions, which Thalia kept repeating in her head even though, in reality, Edward is mentally unstable even to make decisions.
Speaking of Alice, the pixie told him that she had met the woman in her first vision when she woke up from her transition, Cordelia Anna Woodhouse, a pretty name if Thalia says so herself and the couple is extremely happy for her.
Now that Alice is finally paired, they are only waiting for Jasper's fiancée to appear and Emmett's.
In time, their family will finally be complete. Jasper is in another building, with a separate apartment away from them, away from the noise, and to also give them privacy.
He's probably in his morning college classes by now. He joined them when they left Forks for wanting to control his thirst, which the couple is happy to help.
Rosalie and Emmett, from what they heard from them last week, are in Scotland, with Rosalie's wife, touring the cities, which the blonde promised to bring something to them when they reunite along with the other things she bought for them when she, Emmett and her wife are touring the world.
Esme and Christopher are spending their time with their 'cousins' in Alaska Denali.
"We have breakfast with your grandma in an hour in her house," Carlisle tells her. Celia urged them to get their place for the sake of their privacy.
Even though Thalia loves spending time with her grandmother daily, she values the privacy she and Carlisle love.
"Then we ought to get ready," Thalia says, unmoving from her spot. Carlisle chuckles, making Thalia smile.
Carlise removes the blanket covering her form, and she quietly gasps, then a light laugh escapes her plump lips, "Let me give you your first present,'' Carlise says, placing a hand on her thigh, pulling her down, trailing his hand to her waist.
"Just like the present I received when the clock struck 12?" She asks with a gleeful smile. He hums and leans forward, placing a peck on the side of her lip. "Exactly, my love."
"Then, don't keep me waiting."

BREAKFAST AT CELIA'S WAS ENJOYABLE AND RELAXING. While Celia ate real food, Carlisle and Thalia drank animal blood that was transferred to a mug, for Celia's convenience.
Thalia received many birthday greetings including from her beloved family, first from Esme and Christopher, from Rosalie, her wife, and Emmett, Jasper, Alice called with Cordelia exactly at 11:59 because Alice is too excited, and said that there will be a package arriving at their apartment after they got home from Carlisle's surprise, of course, she always knows Carlisle's surprise because she saw it herself.
Then finally from Edward, the conversation consists of Thalia gushing over Edward's mental state, and that it's not too late to fix his mistake of leaving, and the stubborn that he is, dismissed that idea instantly and said that her gift will be arriving tomorrow since he is in Italy.
"Where are we going?" Thalia calmly asks while looking towards the road, seeing the street signs. Carlisle places a hand on her thigh and says "You'll see love, patience,"
Thalia hums, placing her hand on top of his. The car stopped, Carlisle got out of the car, opening her car door, always the gentleman, Thalia thinks with pure adoration for the blonde man in front of her.
She turns around and sees that they stopped in front of an orphanage. Turning back, Thalia smiles and gently wraps her arms around Carlisle's neck. "I think I have an idea of what we are doing here"
"Not really. I think so," Carlise grins as he walks toward the trunk, he opens it and reveals three boxes. Thalia follows him, and sees the boxes, looking at him he nods, Thalia then opens the left box and lightly gasps.
Literature Learning Packets.
Now, she is really surprised, she thought that they'll only donate food and clothes, she wasn't expecting this, and she loves it. "Now, I'm very surprised," Thalia says excitedly as she picks up a packet, and flips the page.
"I can tell," Carlisle chuckles in response. Thalia places a peck on his cheek "You are the best" emphasizing each word.
"I know," he says with a wink, and the brunette woman doesn't even protest, they continue towards the building with Carlisle and Thalia carrying each box. Heading towards the front desk.
"I'm Carlisle Cullen. I called two days ago about a donation, and for permission to let my wife teach the children for two hours?"
The two women gaped at them, silent, a natural reaction, they can't exactly blame her. Thalia clears her throat out and politely smiles. The two women snap out from her trance, and eagerly nod in response.
"Of course, Mr. Cullen. Thank you again for the donation, it helps the orphanage a lot. I just need you to sign some paperwork, for the proof of your donation. Mrs. Cullen can continue towards the playroom. Susan can lead the way" The other woman says.
And Susan smiles at her and grabs the box herself, which almost slipped in her grasp, Thalia looked like she was carrying it without effort, so the woman thought that it was a lightbox.
Thalia places a lingering kiss on Carlisle's lips, as Susan guides her towards the playroom. Along the way, Susan thanked her for her and Carlise's kindness and generosity, and that no one really volunteered before to teach the kids.
She responded that she's a literature professor at a nearby university, and teaching is her passion that she wanted to share with. And she's very glad to have an opportunity to teach the kids since she herself is an orphan at the early age of twelve.
Seeing the kids playing melted her heart, these kids are feeling what she had felt when she lost her parents, lost, confused, grief, and some might not even know that their parents are no longer here or confused about why they are here and not with their parents.
It's cruel really.
Susan introduced her, and the kids are as happy as she is. She began her lesson with the basics, of how literature is important especially now in the modern world, and she encouraged them to read because she quotes and unquote, readers are leaders of the future.
Carlisle enters the playroom with pure adoration on his face. Seeing the woman that he loves, talk and teach about her passion for literature to children, softens his undead heart.
He loves seeing her happy, he thrives on making her smile and laugh, and he wished he could bottle her laughs and take them with him when they aren't together for a short time because of work.
Carlisle Cullen and Thalia Elie Bennet-Cullen, are each other's soulmates, that one they are sure of, have been since Alice saw a vision of them, and will be for eternity.
Thalia turns around and sees Carlisle standing at the doorway, and beckons him to join them, Carlisle nods with a smile and sits on the floor along with the children.
The two hours were finally finished, and disappointingly fast for Thalia's liking. Carlisle walks towards her, she beams in delight and immediately wraps her arms around his neck, with Carlisle doing the same to her waist, and she places a kiss on his lips and speaks.
"Thank you for doing this. I really enjoyed it, officially the best birthday" Thalia declared and Carlisle chuckles in response and then says "I enjoy, making you happy,"
Thalia's gaze on him softens at the declaration and says "I love you, Carlisle, have I said that to you?"
Carlisle smiles and lightly nods "This morning, when we're on our way here, though it might not suffice"
"Then I love love love love you, mind, body, and soul?" Thalia quietly laughs and Carlise places a soft peck on her forehead.
"I love you more, mind, body, soul, Mrs. Bennett-Cullen" Carlisle declares and for Thalia, his love will always be enough for her, their love will always be enough for them, a love that can last for a lifetime is what she wants and needs at the same time
And it will always be enough.
