Wearing Armani Suit
(S2:E8 — Rose)

"I'M ON A LITTLE RESCUE MISSION. YOUR LITTLE DOPPELGÄNGER GOT KIDNAPPED." Genesis tells Niklaus over the phone as she lowers her stereo volume.

She told Damon and Stefan to have a head start.

Because Cassandra told her, after staying in the Salvatore Boarding house for almost two weeks, that her place of residence was ready to be occupied by her, and she packed her clothing again and dropped it off in her house first.

"Mind telling me who the kidnappers are?" Genesis asks as she drums her fingers on the steering wheel, pressing down her foot on the accelerator, going over the speeding limit on how fast she's driving.

"Pesky little Rose and Trevor. Trying to get on my good side for quite some time." Niklaus muses and Genesis rolls her eyes.

Rose and Trevor, the wonder duo.

They've been hiding from Niklaus since they let Katherine escape their grasp. They think that Niklaus has been hunting them since then, but really, he's been painting, horseback riding, drinking bars dry, and enjoying his leisure time, all while Rose and Trevor have been watching their backs for any sign of Niklaus's lackeys wanting to kill them, but really Niklaus didn't even do anything.

And that's how he likes to torture those who wronged him.

Niklaus Mikaelson fucks with their mind until they go screaming in madness. Slowly losing their sanity, always hanging by a thread, he likes making them feel the tip of the edge.

That's what Niklaus wants.

It's his own form of personal torture, not doing anything but doing everything for his victim. Edging them in fear, crippling their mind in the agony of not knowing, hallucinating his shadow presence, until they are cowering, on their knees, begging to stop and just...kill them.

But Niklaus doesn't believe in a mercy killing. He believes in whatever the fuck he wants, like edging but not the sexual kind of reaching orgasm and then denying it—best believe he is good at that too. He boasted that to Genesis, it was disgusting. She didn't need to know any of his sexual escapades.

But the edging that makes his victim think that he's finally going to kill them is proven wrong when Niklaus stops and makes Genesis heal his victims and do it all over again until he gets bored and really—actually kills them this time. His longest torture was about five years because someone stole his paintings.

Marvin is left unidentifiable to the police.

"And they plan on giving Elena to you? And not turning her into a vampire this time." Genesis chuckles.

"I bloody hope so. Or I am really going to hunt them down." Niklaus grumbles out, and Genesis snorts. "Surely they will not repeat the same mistake. Once is alright. Twice is being idiotic." Genesis replies and Niklaus hums in amusement.

"Cassandra informed me that your house is finished." Niklaus changes the subject, and Genesis perks up. "You bloody brilliant man! You really outdid yourself with the interior. A big walk-in closet. Of course, a main bedroom, two guest rooms, a basement–never forgetting the basement." Genesis says in amusement as a grin forms on her lips.

"It is one of the rules in murder 101 to have a basement." Niklaus chuckles, and Genesis continues. "An attic for my magic artifacts and a big bloody garden. And the house is painted in forest green. One of my favorite shades of green." Genesis lists off, and Niklaus smiles on the other side of the line.

"Well, love. Your penthouse wall in Paris is painted forest green, and it looks like mother nature puked in it. To be honest, too many bloody potted plants." Niklaus mutters under his breath, and Genesis ignores his comment.

"Thank you, Niklaus. Well appreciated." Genesis tells him, and he hums.

"Welcome, love. Safe drive. Taunt Rose and Trevor for me."

"Will do," Genesis promises as Niklaus ends the call. She finally catches up to Damon's car. She looks out the window and sees Damon pointing his hand toward a rooftop ahead. She nods as she further presses her foot on the accelerator, the engine roaring. She parks towards an empty field a few miles away from the house. Damon parked behind her car.

"Damn. That car of yours makes beautiful noises." Damon says as he closes his car door.

"Don't get off it now." Genesis retorts with a grin, and Damon chuckles, rolling his eyes playfully. Stefan ignores them, taking the bag full of weapons. Damon stops him by warning him that whoever is inside the house is way older than them and that chances are Genesis will be the only one leaving the house without a scratch.

But in Stefan's words. "I couldn't find a better reason to die."

Oh, the things love can do. Making Stefan Salvatore a fucking martyr. An idiot one at that.

They arrived at the house as Damon made a sound that would gain the captor's attention. And it did. Rose came to the bottom of the stairs with a man in a suit holding Elena.

Genesis, who was hiding behind a wall, stilled her breathing. She recognized the man in a suit.

Elijah bloody Mikaelson.

What is he doing here?

Why is he undaggered?

Oh, Niklaus just took an opportunity with the interior of her new house because he knows he isn't going to have an earful from her.

He knows that Genesis will let it slide this time if he doesn't tell her that Elijah is awake and the one Rose plans to give Elena over to.

Damon and Stefan used their vampire speed to cross the room, taunting him.

And Genesis is wondering if she should help them take Elijah down, knowing that no matter what they do, he can never be killed, or she should get the fuck away from this place because, as Niklaus did to her, maybe he also didn't tell Elijah that she isn't with these pathetic goonies and accidentally kill her by mistake.

Because an original can kill her.

"Excuse me. To whom it may concern. You're making a big mistake if you think you can beat me. You can't. You hear that?"

Okay.

Okay.

Okay.

Genesis will admit that the threat made her feel a little giddy.

"I repeat. You cannot beat me." Elijah says again, and Genesis hears wood snapping.

Is it getting hot in here? She feels like sweating, for fucksake vampires don't even sweat.

"So I want the girl on the count of three. Or heads will roll." Elijah continues.

Oh, he can fucking have Elena, alright.

"Do we understand each other?" Elijah asks, his voice is deep, rich, and confident.

Genesis very much so understands.

Elena reveals herself on top of the stairs. "I'll come with you. Just please, don't hurt my friends. They just wanted to help me out."

Suppose it was Genesis acting impulsively. She would've pushed Elena down the stairs right to his arms, but she wished it was her in his arms. Because as Elijah sped up the stairs, Genesis finally had a perfect view of his face.

The portrait that she had seen in Niklaus's art studio doesn't even do justice to how Elijah Mikaelson is a bloody vision. Definitely an eye candy. A face so exquisitely chiseled it could've been sculpted by Michelangelo himself, effortlessly combed to the side hair to the sharp cut of his jaw. His whiskey brown eyes, goodness, she could drown in them.

That's where Genesis knew before she could admit it to herself that she wanted this man.

And she always gets what she wants.

Genesis was too engulfed in her very inappropriate thoughts to notice Elena throwing a vervain bomb at Elijah, with him healing quickly. Stefan uses one of Alaric's weapons, shooting wooden stakes toward Elijah and Stefan wrestling him toward the ground. Of course, Stefan has no match with an original vampire's strength. Elijah got up quickly, hand ready to rip Stefan's heart out, and that's where she decided to reveal herself.

"Hello, there," Genesis says, speeding down and pushing Elijah roughly against the wall.

Elijah looks at Genesis, seemingly in a daze. He wasn't expecting to see her this early, and certainly not under this circumstance. He wasn't ready to see her beautiful face again after 27 years. He was instantly distracted by the sight of her, the feel of her, how she held him against the wall, being so close to her again, her scent invaded him—lavender and honey, her mere scent engulfed him whole. How he wanted to close his eyes in delight, but seeing her deep green eyes again—he could get lost in her eyes, the kind of lost that never wanted to be found, wanted him to make his eyes stay open and look at her all day, to drink her presence in.

Genesis furrows her eyebrows as she pins Elijah against the wall. Confused about why he wasn't fighting her, but he was looking at her oddly...His whiskey-brown eyes softened when they connected to her deep green eyes. She didn't know why he looked at her with so much longing and affection.

Damon took the opportunity and stabbed Elijah in the chest with the wood Elijah was holding earlier. Elijah grunts as his skin turn ash gray and veins are crawling to his face.

Dead for now...

"That's a success." Genesis suddenly says, hiding her dismay. Rose pops out of the corner, looking at Elijah with a gasp escaping her lips. Damon was about to attack her until Rose disappeared in a blur. With Elena tells Damon to let Rose go. Damon, with a smile on his lips, thinking that Elena would come rushing to his arms, instead ran to his brother's arms. Genesis could see the disappointment in his eyes.

Oh, the Petrova lure is definitely true.

"I should celebrate! Taking down a big bad vampire and all!" Genesis exclaims with a clap of her hand. She needed an excuse not to go with them back to Mystic Falls. After all, she is waiting for a handsome original vampire to wake up—hopefully not angry. Elena gives her a small smile. Genesis tried not to roll her eyes, and the girl couldn't even say 'thank you' properly.

Damon, Stefan, and Elena headed out with Genesis going in a different direction, and she stopped on the side of the road. Then she dials a number.

"Niklaus Mikaelson. You git." Genesis starts, and Niklaus asks in an innocent tone. "You seemed so cheery earlier. What happened?"

"Oh, I don't know, maybe leaving out an important detail that your brother is undaggered, and he's the one Rose contacted to hand the doppelgänger over!" Genesis exclaims, her tone raising exaggeratedly.

"Oh, that one. I can't really see how much of a big deal it is, to be honest." Niklaus replies ever so casually.

"Did you at least tell him that I'm helping you?" Genesis sighs, drumming her fingers on the steering wheel and tapping her foot against the floor of her car. It'll be a while before Elijah wakes up.

"Yes. he knows."

"And why is he here?" Genesis asks impatiently.

"To accompany you. Help you with scheming. He's good at that."

"Do you underestimate my capabilities, Niklaus Mikaelson?"

"Goodness, no. I would never." Niklaus instantly answers, tone seemingly nervous.

"Your brother was looking at me weirdly earlier." Genesis furrows her eyebrows as she recalls.

"Do tell," Niklaus says intriguingly.

"Like he's mesmerized by me, honestly. It's quite flattering." Genesis laughs lightly, biting her lip. Niklaus is grinning from the other side of the phone.

Oh, his brother is more than mesmerized by her.

"Well. I must admit, Genesis, you are quite easy on the eye."

"I am exquisite." Genesis hums in agreement. "Your brother is easy on the eye too. The painting I've seen him on doesn't do any justice, especially the sharp jaws."

Niklaus groans. "Do you have to tell me this? Don't you have any female friends you can discuss how sharp my brother's jaw is?"

"Unfortunately, Niklaus. Women are too intimidated by me even to make them mere acquaintances." Genesis answers with a scoff.

Niklaus chuckles. "Dearest Genesis, they just envy you. You can do what they can't, and you have what they don't have. You are far better without the likes of them."

Genesis smiles. "Well. I'll let this slide. But I am going to take him on a shopping trip." Genesis then mused, "His suit is quite off-season."

"Do as you wish." Niklaus grins as he ends the call. Elijah will thank him for this; he is very sure of it.

Genesis turns, driving back towards the clear find before she gets out of her car. She opened the compartment on the passenger side, revealing the two blood bags she had brought.

She takes it and turns off her engine, gets out of the car, and gently closes her car door. Genesis walks towards the back entrance and walks toward Elijah, who is still temporarily dead.

She stands before him with her lips pursed, crossing her arms. "Now, how will I remove this without being painful?" She asks herself as she taps her foot on the ground.

Genesis shrugs, sighing, "Please don't be mad at me, and I sincerely apologize." She wraps her hands on the wood and takes out the wood swiftly, catching Elijah by the waist as the color in his skin returns.

He gasps. Eyes opening, his gaze slides to Genesis, who is looking at her apologetically.

"I am very sorry for that," Genesis repeats to him in his conscious state, her french accent rolling off her tongue smoothly, seemingly much more evident.

It usually shows when she's anxious. Elijah thinks to himself, and he hides a smile.

"Genesis Ackerman." Genesis offers her hand, but instead of shaking it, Elijah brings it to his lips, placing a soft peck. Genesis beams.

"Elijah Mikaelson." Elijah gives her a polite smile. Genesis tucks her hand into her pocket, remembering how his lips felt against her skin, "Well, it certainly is forgivable when a beauty such as you greet me when I open my eyes." Elijah tells her as he dusts off his coat, which now has a hole in the fabric. His face morphs in disappointment, and Genesis instantly perks up.

"To make up for it. I will buy you a new suit."

"No ne–" Elijah shakes his head, a grin forming on his face as Genesis cuts him off. "I insist." She smiles at him sweetly. Elijah missed seeing her smile, but something was missing.

It's the way her eyes didn't look at him as before.

Genesis wraps her hand around his arms, and Elijah takes a deep breath.

"Now, let's talk about how Niklaus Mikaelson pisses me off at this very moment." Genesis ignores the way his scent invaded her nose now she's so close to him.

A subtle scent of pine and a hint of sandalwood—it's addicting.

Genesis hands him a blood bag as Elijah swiftly removes the cap, taking a sip.

"Yes. Niklaus did indeed forget to tell me that you'll be here with the Salvatore brothers and Elena." Elijah says as he brings down the blood bag from his lips. His voice is deep, velvety smooth, that goosebumps formed on her skin. She shrugs it off as she leads Elijah outside towards her car.

"I am not with them per se." Genesis clarifies.

Elijah hums. "I know."

"My apologies if this may seem rude, but what are you doing here?" Genesis asks him as they reach her car.

"It's not rude at all," Elijah assures. "Rose contacted someone who told me that they have the doppelgänger in their possession," Elijah tells her as he opens the driver's side door for Genesis. And she hides a smile as she sits in the driver seat with him in the passenger seat. She starts the engine.

"To beg for you and Niklaus's forgiveness." Genesis muses. Elijah gives her a grin, "It didn't go exactly as they planned."

Genesis laughed lightly, and she didn't notice how Elijah's face softened at the sound of her laugh. "Trevor's decapitated head surely proved that." Genesis drives with Richmond as her destination in mind.

"Where exactly are we going?" Elijah asks, and Genesis answers. "Richmond. I am going to shop for some furniture for my new house—-" Genesis looks at him, tilting her head. "And buy you a new set of suits. No offense, they are quite outdated." Genesis looks back at the road, speeding down as her engine roars.

Elijah smiles, "Niklaus gave me this suit." glancing down at his clothing.

"One more reason to buy you a new wardrobe. Niklaus probably has that suit collecting dust in his closet, and by the looks of the fabric, it's from the 90s." Genesis groans as she remembers the flannel shirts, animal prints, and denim overalls. It was the grunge era of fashion.

Genesis turns on her stereo as the beats of Fleetwood Mac invade their ears. "You don't mind me singing, do you?" Genesis asks him in order to be polite. If he doesn't like it, she'll still sing.

"I don't," Elijah answered shortly, and Genesis sang as the lyrics started. "Listen to the wind blow. Watch the sunrise. Running in the shadows, damn your love, damn your lies." Elijah taps his hand on his thigh, following the rhythm.

"And if you don't love me now. You will never love me again. I can still hear you saying. You would never break the chain." Genesis shakes her head, following the beat of the music as she taps her fingers on the steering wheel. Elijah looks at her with a soft smile. To hear her sing again, fuck, it gave him chills down to his spine the way her voice enchanted him.

"And if you don't love me now. You will never love me again. I can still hear you saying. You would never break the chain." Genesis sang, and it continued until they arrived in Richmond. She parked just beside the mall, turning off her engine. Elijah exits the car, walks towards her side, and opens the car door, offering his hand.

She takes his hand and chuckles. "What a gentleman." Elijah smoothly places her hand on his arm, her fingers wrapping around his upper arm.

Elijah chuckles in response. And Genesis says as they walk toward the entrance of the mall. "I hope my singing didn't annoy you."

"Quite the opposite. You have a delightful voice, Genesis." Elijah compliments, and Genesis fights herself from blushing.

She doesn't know why she's acting the way she is right now with him.

Perhaps it has been a long time since she has been with a man—an attractive man; at that, she has been feeling giddy ever since their encounter, and it was confusing her.

She is never like this with a man.

Especially with a man she had just met.

They stopped in front of Emperio Armani. With Genesis strode inside as Elijah followed her. She looked around until she saw a wide range of suits. She smiles as she walks towards the racks, her fingertips tracing the smooth fabric.

"How may I help you, madam?" A man asks. And Genesis looks at him, his pupils dilating.

"Give us a private fitting room, and bring all the suits, collar shirts, and maybe some ties available. Bring me your finest champagne in store." Genesis compels him, and the man nods as he guides them toward the private room.

The room was designed with dark gray velvet walls and black carpet, with the light jazz music settling in the room. In the corner where the brown drapes were, a full-length mirror resided behind it.

The man from earlier dragged four racks of clothing. And left them alone as Genesis picked the suits with the matched shirts, placing them in her arms while Elijah sat silently, observing her.

She turns around with a bright beam in her eyes, pure excitement in her features. Genesis strides towards him and gives him the suits she wants him to try first.

"Try these five suits first. Each with different kinds of fabrics and tailoring. Let's see what befit you first, and then we'll proceed from there." Genesis tells him, and Elijah stands up without protest as he closes the drapes.

The man from earlier with a bottle of champagne and macarons in his hand enters the room and pops open the champagne pouring her a glass. Genesis gives him an appreciative nod as she takes a sip of the fuzzy liquid.

Elijah opens the brown drapes. He stood confident and strikingly handsome in a saddle brown suit, anchor gray tie, and powder blue collar shirt. Elijah fixes his collar, smoothing out the fabric.

"Tweed fabric. I hope you like the way it feels." Genesis says, placing down the champagne flute glass, standing in front of Elijah as her fingertips graze the fabric, "It's made of wool. Fabric is woven. It's quite soft and flexible." Genesis observes, and Elijah hums.

"It's a new style for me. But I like it. It's comfortable and stylish. I'd say." Elijah tells her as he turns around, facing the mirror.

"You mean you don't wear anything else besides a black suit." Genesis muses and Elijah grins.

"I might be convinced to wear something in a different color."

Genesis stands beside him, and she grabs his shoulder as they both look in the mirror, "Let my fashion sense convince you." Genesis replies with a wink. "I like it. We'll take it."

Elijah chuckles, nodding as Genesis closes the drapes. "What is your shoe size?" Genesis asks, and it takes a minute for Elijah to answer. "10."

Genesis exits the room and looks at the men's shoes on display. She takes the one in plain black and brown, and she goes back to the fitting room, seeing Elijah waiting for her in a yale blue suit and tie and baby blue collar shirt.

"Color definitely suits you," Genesis says with a broad smile as she places down the shoes inside the fitting room. Then she stands in front of him, pursed her lips to the side, tilting her head.

Elijah looks up, hiding his amusement. She's adorable. He thinks to himself, and he feels Genesis remove his tie and unbutton two buttons in his shirt.

"Yes. a hundred percent." Genesis nods in approval as Elijah decides to look at himself in the mirror. "Now you fit the 20th-century fashion." Genesis teases.

Elijah chuckles, "Do I fit to your liking?"

Genesis hums, patting his arm and closing the drapes. "Flirting will get you nowhere, Mr. Mikaelson." but yes, yes, he does.

And that's how they bought thirty Armani suits with their own pair of collar shirts and ties and two pairs of shoes. It didn't just end there.

They stopped at Louis Vuitton, and Genesis bought herself a Louis Vuitton Monogram Empreinte Neverfull in color black and also upgraded Elijah's old wallet with the classic monogram design.

Then they proceeded to shop for Genesis's furniture. A king-sized bed with foams and pillows. She also picked out some bedsheets and cushions. Her walk-in closet already had built-in cabinets, so she picked out the coffee table for the main bedroom and, modern chandeliers, a desk.

For the kitchen, a two-door refrigerator, a microwave, an electric stove, and beautiful marble countertops. For the living room, Elijah picked the L-sectional colored in deep green and a wooden coffee table. The bathroom did not need much furniture since Cassandra took it upon herself to arrange it.

Surprisingly, Elijah knew exactly what she liked.

All of the furniture she bought will be brought by the employees after they shop in the mall. The afternoon ended, and Genesis drove Elijah to his hotel outside of Mystic Falls, with the bellhop assisting him in carrying almost ten Armani paper bags.

"I'd like to thank you for helping me with my new wardrobe in your words." Elijah muses as he stands beside her side of the car. Genesis gives him a wink.

"I'm glad. I'll see you around, Elijah." She closes her window as she takes a turn, with Elijah waiting for her car to disappear. Then he enters the hotel building with the biggest grin on his face.

Elijah oaths to call Niklaus.

Genesis enters the Salvatore Boarding house after she texts Cassandra to help the truck driver with the furniture for a while. Striding inside with an Armani paper bag.

"I just had a fulfilling shopping trip," Genesis says as she walks towards Damon, who is looking at her with a glass of whiskey in his hand. He chuckles as Genesis shoves the paper bag onto his chest.

"And I'm feeling generous." Genesis continues as Damon takes out two black collared shirts.

"Thank you." Damon wiggles his eyebrows, eyeing the shirt she gave him, "Glad you're in a good mood because we have an unexpected visitor." Damon places the shirts back in the bag. Genesis raises an eyebrow as Damon moves to the side.

"Rose." Genesis greets her with a mischievous smile as the woman smiles at her nervously.

Author's Note:
— Okay, let me clarify that Genesis isn't usually like this. Her subconscious already feels comfortable with Elijah because even with her memories being erased that her heart and body still remembers him. Genesis isn't like this when she first met Elijah!

— Also, you are welcome.
