˖ ❟𝐢𝐢𝐢. Chapter six of  𝑰𝑫𝑶𝑳: D-Day

Eight months later

Spring had turned into summer, and the air was warm, the scent of blooming flowers hanging in the breeze. The first week of August arrived, and with it, their debut has finally arrived. Eight months of hard work, sleepless nights, and constant training had brought them here, to this very moment.

They had rehearsed every step, every note, perfected their songs and choreography, and now, standing backstage moments before their first live performance on StarStage Live, Aeri's mind was a whirlwind. Her heart was beating so loudly in her chest that she could hear it over the bustling noise of the crew preparing for the show.

This is it.

In a few minutes, everything that she and the rest of NYXX had worked for would finally pay off. Aeri tried to shake off the nerves as best as she could, reminding herself that she had done this a thousand times in practice. The choreography, the lyrics, the formations—it was all second nature by now. But the weight of the moment, the gravity of this stage, was entirely different. This wasn't just another rehearsal, nor was it the familiar world of ballet where she had once thrived.

This was real.

This was her debut.

She clenched her fists tightly, the faint echo of her ballet days surfacing in her mind. Back then, the stage was her sanctuary, a place where precision and grace defined her every move. But this stage, filled with pulsating lights and the roar of a live audience, was unlike anything she had ever experienced. It demanded more than grace; it required fire, charisma, and a connection with every single pair of eyes watching.

Aeri exhaled deeply, smoothing down the sleek fabric of her costume. The faint smell of hairspray and makeup hung in the air, mingling with the buzz of the production crew in the distance.

"NYXX, please go to your positions. We'll be live in five minutes," came the voice of the staff member with a clipboard. A man wearing a headset entered the dressing room, his presence jolting Aeri from her thoughts.

She flinched at the sudden sound, her nerves heightening further. The other three members of NYXX—Sora, Liena, and Kaiya—were sitting in their dressing room, each one quietly lost in their own thoughts. This was the calm before the storm, the final moments before they would step into the spotlight.

Aeri glanced around the room. Liena was tapping her fingers against her knee, a soft smile on her face as she closed her eyes to center herself. Kaiya sat with her hands clasped together, her shoulders squared, clearly trying to calm herself. Sora, their leader, sat on the couch, looking poised as ever, but Aeri could see the flicker of nerves in her eyes too.

"We're ready," Sora finally spoke, her voice steady but with a touch of excitement that was contagious.

Aeri nodded, forcing herself to stand up. She brushed her hands through her hair, feeling the soft waves of her styled look as she did. There was no going back now. She looked into the mirror one last time, the reflection staring back at her: the girl who had worked so hard to be here.

This is it.

The countdown to their debut had officially begun. In five minutes, they would walk out onto that stage and make their mark on the world. And Aeri, along with the rest of NYXX, was determined to make it unforgettable.

She was Aeri of NYXX, stepping into the spotlight for the world to see.

"Let's do this," she whispered to herself, her lips curving into a determined smile.

Moments later, the girls found themselves backstage, ready to step onto the stage of StarStage Live. The opening music to their debut track, Untouchable, started to play, and the stage lights turned a dazzling white. The energy was electric, and Aeri's heart rate spiked.

She joined the others in their positions. The final countdown started, and she felt her breath catch in her throat.

"Live in 10... 9... 8..."

She could feel the vibrations of the music in her bones as they all stood poised, ready to give everything they had.

"7... 6... 5..."

Aeri closed her eyes for a moment, her body steadying as she inhaled deeply.

"4... 3... 2... 1..."

As the intro music began, a spotlight illuminated the center of the stage, revealing the silhouettes of the girls. The crowd erupted into cheers, the energy palpable.

The opening beats of Untouchable hit, and she was already in the zone.

"Watch your mouth when you speak my name, Aeri," she rapped, her voice powerful and clear. She moved through the choreography, every step synchronized with the others. The energy in the room was intense—fans screaming, lights flashing, cameras capturing every moment.

As the chorus hit, Aeri felt an undeniable rush of exhilaration. This was what they had worked for. The lights, the cheers, the spotlight—everything led to this exact moment. There was no room for fear now. She had made it, and NYXX was here to stay.

The crowd cheered even louder as they finished their first song, and Aeri couldn't help but smile. They held their final pose, feeling the warmth of the applause wash over them.

As the lights dimmed and the camera cut, the girls quickly exited the stage, their legs shaky from the intense performance. They hurried backstage, their breath coming in shallow gasps as they were met with the excited energy of the staff. Applause echoed through the hallway as their managers, stylists, and the rest of the crew cheered them on.

"That was amazing!" their manager exclaimed, his voice full of pride.

Aeri's eyes sparkled as she looked at the other girls, seeing the same overwhelming sense of accomplishment mirrored in their faces. Despite the exhaustion, despite the sweat that clung to their skin and the pounding in their heads, they had done it. They had debuted.

The staff continued to congratulate them, praising their stage presence, their energy, and the synchronization of their performance. The comments flooded in from all sides, and Aeri couldn't help but feel a sense of warmth. The hard work, the sleepless nights, the intense training, and the sacrifices—they had all led to this moment. She had made it, and so had her sisters.

She looked over at Kaiya, who was grinning widely, her face flushed from the performance. "We did it, huh?" Aeri said, her voice a little shaky with emotion.

Kaiya nodded enthusiastically, her eyes glistening with happy tears. "We did! We're finally here."

Sora, who had been standing silently beside them, looked over at Aeri with a smile. "And we're just getting started," she said, her voice steady but filled with excitement. "This is only the beginning."

Aeri nodded in agreement, her heart swelling with gratitude for the team and the opportunity before them. She couldn't wait to see what would come next, but for now, she allowed herself to soak in the pure joy of their debut success.
