ⴰ ࣪˖ ❟𝐢𝐢𝐢. Chapter 2 of 𝑰𝑫𝑶𝑳: Scout
Aeri and her aunt arrived at their house, a cozy two-story home nestled in a quiet neighborhood in Seoul. The familiar sight of the house brought a wave of nostalgia over Aeri. It had been a while since she had last been here, and the memories of her childhood came flooding back. It was nighttime in Seoul, and the city lights twinkled in the distance.
"Home sweet home," her aunt said with a smile as she unlocked the front door and pushed it open. "Come on in, Aeri."
Aeri stepped inside, taking in the warm and inviting atmosphere. The house was decorated with festive Christmas decorations, from the twinkling lights on the tree to the garlands draped over the fireplace. The scent of pine and cinnamon filled the air, making her feel instantly at ease.
"It's beautiful, Auntie," Aeri said, her eyes sparkling with delight. "You really went all out with the decorations this year."
Her aunt chuckled. "I wanted to make it special for your homecoming. Now, let's get your bags upstairs and then we can have some hot cocoa."
Aeri followed her aunt up the stairs to her old bedroom. It looked just as she remembered, with soft pastel colors and ballet posters on the walls. This is the house her aunt had purchased a few years ago. She set her suitcase down and took a moment to appreciate the familiarity of the room. After unpacking a few essentials, Aeri headed back downstairs to find her aunt in the kitchen, preparing the promised hot cocoa. She joined her at the counter, and they chatted about their plans for the holidays.
"So, how have you been, Aeri? How's everything at the academy?" her aunt asked, handing her a steaming mug of cocoa.
Aeri took a sip, savoring the rich, chocolatey flavor. "It's been good, Auntie. Busy, but good. I've been thinking a lot about my future, though."
Her aunt looked at her with concern. "Is everything okay, dear?"
Aeri hesitated for a moment, then decided to open up. "I've been feeling a bit conflicted about ballet lately. I love it, but I'm not sure if it's what I want to do for the rest of my life. I've been thinking about exploring other passions, like music."
Her aunt reached out and took her hand. "Aeri, you know I support you no matter what. If you want to explore other passions, then you should. Life is too short to not follow your heart."
Aeri felt a weight lift off her shoulders at her aunt's words. "Thank you, Auntie. That means a lot to me."
They spent the rest of the evening catching up and enjoying each other's company. After their heartfelt conversation, they had a delicious dinner together where they continued to chat. Aeri felt a sense of peace and contentment as she unwound for the first day in Seoul.
The next day came, and Aeri got ready to go shopping with her aunt. Her aunt had planned a special day out for them, and Aeri was looking forward to it. They made their way to the biggest shopping mall in the world, Hanyowon Mall. The mall was a marvel of modern architecture, with its sleek design and endless array of shops.
Aeri and her aunt spent hours browsing through the stores, picking out clothes and gifts for the holidays. After shopping for a while, they decided to stop at a café in the mall to get some food and drink. While her aunt went to grab a seat for them, Aeri stayed in line to order for them. As she waited, a lady came and tapped her on the shoulder. Aeri turned to see who it was and saw a woman smiling sweetly at her.
"Excuse me, My name is Lee Jiwon and I'm scout agent from TWS Entertainment. I think you are very pretty girl and you would be perfect for the girl group that our company is working on to create." the woman said.
Aeri was taken aback by the unexpected compliment and offer. "Oh, thank you," she replied, unsure of what to say next.
The woman handed her a business card with the name TWS Entertainment written in fancy gold letters. "If you're interested, please give us a call. We would love to have you audition. I definitely think you're meant to be famous."
Aeri took the card and looked at it, not sure if this was a scam because she had heard about people getting scammed by those pretending to be scouts. She thanked the woman and then joined her aunt at the table.
"Auntie, I got this card from a lady who told me that she would love for me to audition for her company."
Her aunt looked surprised and said, "Oh really? Show me the card and let's see if the lady is legit."
Aeri handed her the card, and her aunt examined it closely. A smile spread across her aunt's face as she recognized the gold font and the unique signature on the card.
"Oh wow, I think she is real and not a scammer because only real TWS Entertainment scouts have the gold font card, and each scout gets their own card with a signature that only they know. I think this might be a good way for you to pursue your dream of being an artist."
Aeri's eyes widened in surprise. "How do you know so much about TWS Entertainment, Auntie?"
Her aunt chuckled softly. "I used to work with TWS Entertainment as their head legal representative. I handled many of their contracts and legal matters. This card is definitely authentic."
Aeri felt a surge of excitement and relief. "Really? That's amazing! Do you think I should give them a call?"
Her aunt nodded encouragingly. "Absolutely. This could be a wonderful opportunity for you. Just make sure to be cautious and do your research before making any decisions."
Aeri felt a mix of excitement and nervousness as she held the business card in her hand. The idea of auditioning for a girl group was thrilling, but she also knew it would be a big step away from her life as a ballet dancer.
