Darkness. All I saw was darkness. The clang of metal made me jump and my heart thudded in my chest. The jingle of keys and suddenly there was light. I was about to exclaim, shout in happiness but I stopped dead in my tracks. He was there. I quickly stumbled backwards, my back hitting the wall behind me.

"Why are you running? Are you afraid?" He taunted me as he stepped closer. "You know I don't like fear. Fear is a weakness."

His eyes sharpened, and I flinched.

"Fear is a weakness," he repeated, anger evident in his tone. "and you should not feel fear, because you are MY daughter."

I felt a sharp pain in my cheek, and I brought my legs up to my chest, trying to hide away from him.

His cold, calloused fingers lifted my chin forcefully.

"But you are not my daughter. I will not call you my daughter." He hit me in the stomach. "You bring disgrace to my name!"

I doubled over in pain, my eyes screwed shut and I felt tears threaten to spill from my eyes. But I willed them not to because I knew if the tears fell, then the punishment would be worse.

"My daughter would not be like you." he snarled. "She would not be afraid of anything. She would not be such a pathetic person! You shouldn't even exist!"

I took the words to heart. "I can ch-change." I whispered. "I-I promise I'll b-be better!"

He pushed me to the side and towered over me.

"But you can't change." He kicked my legs and I cried out in pain. "I know because I've tried to make you change and you can't. You shouldn't be my daughter!!!"

Something banged into my head and everything disappeared.

A/N this is kinda dark sorry! I'll try keep my uploading schedule as predictable as possible 4 u guys!
