Third Person's POV

An Autumn Day, Fall Season, Kiyose, Tokyo, Japan

One of the most significant visual changes that we experience in autumn is the changing colour of leaves on the trees, turning from green to a beautiful selection of browns, yellows, reds and oranges.

Autumn is one of the most beautiful times to visit Tokyo. Since the weather for Tokyo in autumn is generally pleasant and cooler, it's also an excellent season for walking around and exploring to your heart's content. Still, it can get a bit chilly at times just before winter sets in!

The heat of summer is giving way to sweater weather. And instead of ice cream and popsicles, people are cozying up with mugs of hot cider and slices of pumpkin pie.

Autumn is a beautiful season, and if you're not content to simply call it colorful or chilly.

There are many beautiful days in Autumn. Trees change color, and the weather is not too hot but not too cold.

The leaves begin to fall from the trees, the birds leave, and there seems to be a kind of sadness in the air...

"It's been a long day without you, my friend

And I'll tell you all about it when I see you again

We've come a long way from where we began

In literature, autumn may refer to ripeness, change, maturity, beauty, sadness or preparing for an end or decline...

"~*Ding dong ding~*", a school bell ringing sounds could be heard declaring the ending hours for the school. It was from Kiyose Academy.

Yuri and Kanade both were now 10 years old, reading in 5th grade along with the other students in their respective grades.

"So students our class ends at this. Don't forget to do the home tasks I've given and remember that essay about 'Autumn' Ok?", The teacher said.

"Ok Ma'am", The students replied. Some of them sounded bored and some of them excited because today's last period lesson and school day finally came to an end.

Yuri was seen to packing her school books in her bag then put the bag on her shoulder and casually leaving the room while thinking about something in her mind until someone called her.

"Hey Yuri! Wanna work on the essay about the Autumn together? You know if we two do work together then the essay will be making easy and made quickly!", a blonde haired girl with purple eyes said to Yuri.

"Huh? Oh Kasumi? Yeah this sounds nice but I'm sorry this time I wanna work alone, maybe you will find someone else", Yuri replied with a sad smile.

"Aww then ok, anyway where is Kanade I've not seen her today? Is she alright?", Kasumi asked.

Hearing about Kanade, Yuri looked down, didn't know why but something weird feeling tensing up her but she couldn't understand what was it actually and it was not felt so good.

"Uh... Kana? Of course she is alright, maybe she's got something important so she couldn't come today, I'm gonna ask her later for sure!", Yuri managed to smile while replying Kasumi.

"Why'd you have to leave so soon?

Why'd you have to go?

Why'd you have to leave me when I needed you the most?..."

"Ok stay safe you two, gotta go bye", waving at Yuri Kasumi left the classroom while Yuri following behind.

Yuri's POV

"Huuh!", Letting out a tired sigh I looked at the sky. It was autumn so everything around me was turned into autumn beauty.

Autumn was always my favourite season and I really loved this season though it seemed a little sadness cause the trees leaves fallen but it was a new starting right?

But today didn't know why but I was feeling a little off like something was going to happen and it didn't seem right. Anyway I took the path to my home while thinking why Kana called me after ending of school.

~*Flashback*~

"~*Ring ring~*", our house cell phone ranging loudly. "Mother! Someone is calling!", I called my mother while packing my school books in my bag.

"Honey! Can you pick up the phone I'm busy in kitchen", My mother shouted back to me.

"OK!", replying I left my room to check the phone. "Hello it's Aoi Residence! I'm-", I was cut off by the other side person talking.

"Of course I know it's Aoi Residence anyway Kanade speaking, Yuri right? Hey can I ask you something?", Oh my it's Kana whoa but she's sounding kinda different.

"Oh my gosh Kana but why you didn't called in my mother's personal phone as you always does that from your mother's one?", I asked curiously.

"Huh *light chuckle* Ya actually Mom isn't in home, my mom and dad went out together for some works, so here I've no choice except it, umm by the way you've school today right? So I better say things quickly", Kana spoke from the other side of the phone.

"Ya, so what's the matter? Everything alright?", I asked secretly worried.

"Of course everything is! But I want you to inform our class teacher today I won't able to come to school, uh I'll surely tell you all later but not now. Ok the real reason I'm calling you... Yuri! I want you to meet me at the central park after the school end. Can you come please? There's a lot of things to tell you...", Kana let out a heavy sigh.

"Ok no problem I'll surely come, you're saying me to come and I won't it's not possible~ *light chuckle* see you at then?", I replied.

"See you soon Sure! Take care and have a nice day at school~", Kana said.

"Yup got it", after I replied the call ended. "So let's get ready for school", cheerfully I left the phone to it's own place and went into my room. Little did I knew that this thing would be in my mind the whole day...

~*Flashback ends*~

Ghaa who thought that today I was gonna thinking and worrying about it all the day that my whole school day felt lifeless.

But after I just crossing the school front gate to reach out to the main gate I noticed Kana's parents, I mean Mr and Mrs Kosaka left our school Principal's office.

They didn't noticed me but I did. Blinking my eyes I saw they left the school.

Alot of questions gathered in my head. Anyway snapping myself back to reality I went straight to my apartment.

~*After some moments*~

After coming back from school I did my other works and got ready. Then telling my mother that I was going to meet Kana and headed to the central park in our city, it was a little distance but not so long. So I casually walked through the main road to reach there.

When I reached there as expected the whole public park is filled with autumn leaves, the maple trees and their shading orange, red and brown maple leafs.

There was a beautiful lake but before reaching to that place I'd to cross the rows of the trees and then I could enter there.

"So beautiful~" , closing my eyes I was enjoying the environment until I heard a sweet melody sounded like flute. "Whoa that's-", I followed the melody and saw the person.

"She's finally playing it?", I looked amazed and lost in music of the flute. After hearing it clearly I recognised it was 'See You Again' by Charlie Puth and Wiz Khalifa. But why this tune?

After she somehow noticed me and I was startled because how in the world she noticed me from her back? I didn't made any sound? Anyway...

Kanade's POV

I was playing a tune which I was gonna play for Yuri, waiting for her I thought to play it before one more time but then when I'd started I'd heard rustling of the leaves and I smiled to myself because I knew who it could be so I continued playing the music and the person stayed silent hearing it. Very well...

After finishing it I called,"So you finally came huh! I'm glad you came". "Huh! But how you can see me from behind?", As expected the person looking clueless.

Anyway talking about that one they showed their signature smile. Totally surrounded with maple leafs so sweet.

"I've a special feeling that it's you", I replied. "So after a long time I've finally got a chance to hear you play and it was so relaxing", closing her eyes Yuri took the fresh air. I walked back to her.

"Of course it's really been long time and Flute is my favourite cause my Grandma taught me how to play Flute. So that's it", I replied.

"Whoa that's fantastic so cool and your playing flute was so beautiful and heart touching", and here my little sunflower had star in her eyes.

"Huh! Thanks", I laughed at this. Anyway it was gonna be the last wonderful moments together with her... Maybe...

"Cause I don't really know how to tell ya

Without feeling much worse

I know you're in a better place

But it's always gonna hurt..."

"So Kana! Why you called me here?", And here the question I was wondering about.

"As I've said there's a lot of things to tell you Yuri", I sat down on the ground and Yuri followed me beside.

"So... First of all I wanna give you something but first close your eyes", I pleaded. "Ok as you say", Yuri did what I'd said.

Picking up the exact thing from my bag I put it on her. While doing the same with me but it was slightly different colour.

"Now you can open your eyes", I said. "Ok but what's- Oh WHOA-", Yuri blinked at it then looked at me with a million questions in her head. I smiled genuinely.

Yup it was two same looking heart shaped pendant chain but one was golden with red ruby and another one was silver with blue sapphire.

I put the red one on Yuri while keeping the blue one with me in respect of our each other's favourite colours and remembering each other...

"Kana? Why you gave me this? Why suddenly I'm confused please", Yuri said.

"It's a gift for being there for me always, I'm a calm, kinda cold and sometimes arrogant but you've treated me as real me while others trying to catch my attention and befriended with me with their 'Themselves attitude' and hoping I'll do the same for all but not actually. So at 6 years ago while I'd joined the Summer Camp and was wandering around the sunflower field and hoping could find someone who would be my friends I'd found you. So from the time you are always here by my side in every happiness and sadness and when my Grandma died you were there", I continued...

"Carry on

Give me all the strength I need to carry on..."

"... As Grandma said you're 'My little Sunflower' who always lights up the mood of everyone, no matter what it takes, so reminding everything she said I'm right that you're precious so this gift for you. Really I'm glad I'm able to have you as my Best Friend and always remember I'll always love you and thanks for everything you've done for me", letting out my breath which I'd held for a long time I smiled at her. She looked shocked.

"Kana I-", Yuri started but I stopped her cause I still had alot things to let her knew.

"Yuri... Now what's I'm going to say please listen carefully", I grabbed both of her shoulders while looking straight into her eyes, I was serious.

"Sure say it", Yuri replied looking back. "So the fact is...", I was hesitating but I'd to say it.

"Yuri, I'm leaving Japan...", I looked down at the ground then continued again. "We're going to America cause you know family business and dad's company stuff... A-", I got cut off by her.

"Wait... WHAT? WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY LEAVING JAPAN AND HEADING FOR AMERICA?!! HOW IN THE WORLD-", she panted and stopped shouting reminding of this is a public park.

"Um... Sorry for shouting but Whyyyyyy", she whined.

"Sorry I can't able to do anything in this case and I also don't wanna leave but Mom... Mom needs the better treatment we think", I finally let out the sentence stuck inside me.

"What happened to Aunt Mikan? Ya whenever Mother called her she always sounds weak and not so well and when we asked why she said just a little fever nothing else", Yuri replied.

"Ya it was but... Again the case like Grandma... That unknown disease and really this time I'm not gonna take any risks also coincidentally Dad's office news got surrounded by this problem and we've no choice except going", my black hair locks covered my eyes, holding my hand into a tight fist I was shaking because so many things together stuck with each other.

"Hey don't worry Kana, everything will be alright!", Yuri put her hands on my shoulder patting it.

"So you're leaving Kiyose Academy right? Today I've seen your parents with the Principal", She said.

"Ya they went there to discuss and settle everything, Kanade Kosaka isn't going to study there *sigh* I've the record till my 5th grade. Yes I've to go I guess but there's so many things I wanna do here. I've a dream to fulfill and maybe I've to do that from there? I'll be able to study there more better?", I questioned myself thinking about the future.

"It's been a long day without you, my friend

"Ya as you always says you wanna be a Doctor right?", Yuri asked. "Yeah", I nodded then I asked,"Hey what you wanna be in future?"

"I? I ... Really don't know cause I've never thought about this, I'm only 10 so my parents never forced me to think about it and I really didn't decided but I loves everything", Yuri replied while thinking deeply.

"Ok maybe you'll find soon", I stated. "WHOA Kana look!", Yuri shouted and pointed something in the sky.

It was a pink and white aeroplane flying in the blue sky with fluffy white clouds of autumn giving company it, really so wonderful scenary.

Then I noticed something, Yuri's sapphire blue eyes locked at the plane and raised her right hand like wanting to touch and hug it and fly with it. As childish as always. Wait how about... I should ask her...

"Hey that was beautiful but I always notice whenever you saw the plane you're cheering for that plane why you like it so much?", I was curious.

"Aww that one! I didn't know why whenever I saw that plane I'm just like uh 'I wanna touch you, I'll make you my friend and we can fly together in the sky higher' hehe just it", she replied while spreading her arms wide opening grinning widely. Yuri looked so happy about that. I smiled at her happiness.

"So you wanna be a pilot?", I asked. "Pilot? Well they are so near to the sky and really so close to touch the sky. That sounds great but Nah- I really don't wanna sit in one place instead I wanna travel around the world and see different places, meet different people and learn something new everyday", Yuri finished.

"Hmm well then how about the Flight Attendants? I mean what about Air Hostess?", I recommended.

"Whoa I know about them they are fantastic but alot of duties also, gosh I guess I'm too stupid for that and even I can't talk properly", Yuri said worriedly.

"OH oh com'on we're just 10 now there's alot of work to do on this years and I believe, you can do this Yuri!", I assured her while patting her shoulders.

"Ok I'll think about it but let me collect the details on my own then if I'm ready I'll say it", winking Yuri said proudly.

"Huh! That's my girl", I showed her a thumbs up while in reply she showed me victory sign.

"Hey you love the sky so much your name should be 'Sora' meaning 'The Sky' what you say? I like this name", I commented.

"Well I'm ok with my name Yuri which means 'Lily'. But I like what you said, The Sky. 'Soar High To Reach The Sky' wow I made a quote hehe~", Yuri cheered.

"Beautiful! I love it", I smiled. "Kana?", Yuri asked. "Ya?", I looked at my best friend.

"Kana you know you always reminds me of Cherry Blossom. Like those Sakura trees make people smile blessing with happiness. Whenever I'm with you I feels so relieved and peaceful, what if your name as Sakura~ Sora and Sakura wow two names looking so sweet together", Yuri commented.

"Sure I love it Sora~", I smiled. "Always welcome Sakura~", Yuri joined.

Sweet memories of our every amazing moments together played through my mind and I let myself relax in the cold breeze of Autumn.

"Uh, So we're leaving in 3 days, there's alot of things to do before it and don't worry Mom is in better condition to deal with this stuff. I'm proud of my Mom and specially Grandma cause they're the ones I love the most!", I exclaimed.

"Aww then what about ME?", Yuri pouted cutely. "Don't worry my little sunflower you're always my loved one with you all my entire family and a piece of my heart so I'm leaving it here in Japan so keep it safe", I smiled politely at her.

"Of course it's protected", Yuri said proudly. I laughed at her doing that pose. "Ok it's enough so we'll meet again aren't we?", My heart wasn't wanting to leave though.

Yuri stood up and I also. We looked together at the beautiful autumn scenario surrounded the whole park. I put on my jacket and let out a heavy sigh. I had to leave...

"How do I breathe without you?

I'm feeling so cold

I'll be waiting right here for ya

'Til the day you're home..."

"Hey Kana I really wanna tell you something", Yuri said. ,"Sure I'm here to listen", I replied.

"Kana you're the one who was always by my side now still you're I hope. There's a lot of things we'd did together and they are wondering memories that I can't ever forget. But I've heard a thing 'True Love will never fade and True Friendship will never the end' so I believe that if you have faith in destiny we'll meet again for sure and we'll get shock how much we've improved or changed... But if we're destined to bond together forever then our friendship is magic and the connection is special. Do you believe it?", Yuri asked.

"Of course I believe and I promise We'll meet again for sure", I reassured her while giving her a warm embrace.

She hugged back and after that we walked together leaving the park crossing the row of maple trees and maple leaf falling by the air.

"Carry on

Give me all the strength I need to carry on..."

Really Autumn is beautiful to show us how it feels like letting go! But if I couldn't keep the promise? Who knows? Let's leave it to the destiny.

Third Person's POV

"Kana promise me we'll always remember each other?", The 10 year old Yuri called out to her best friend.

"I promise! Yuri you promise me that we'll meet again in the future?", The 10 year Kanade replied and asked to her close friend.

"Yes I promise! 'I'm Waiting For YOU Until The Day We'll MEET Again'...", Both promised to each other.

"Until We Meet Again...", Both thought in their own mind.

"... Just 10 years right?", Yuri asked her. "Yes just 10 years then I guess I'll be back again here... I guess...", Kana mumbled the last part.

"Yaaay then we'll hang out together and enjoy again. Hehe~ *childish giggle* Ha Kana you'll see then I'll become the best Air Hostess ever that you've said about me. Then you'll have shock to see me, I'll touch the sky and befriended with the birds and the aeroplanes YAAAY, I'll meet new people can help them the way I wanna be with fulfilling my dreams", Yuri winked and grinned widely.

"Yaa I'll be the best doctor who can help the poor people who are fighting for their lives for god's sake they will see the sun again to start their new life and I'll be very glad if I'm able to gift it to them", Kanade smiled but not showing her hidden grief of how her grandmother died for not getting better treatment and now her mother struggling for her life.

"So are your mother going to be fine?", Yuri's voice changed into a worried tone.

"Oh don't worry she'll be alright... (She has to be)... Yuri another thing I want from you can you keep it?", Kanade asked her. "Sure say", Yuri said.

"Yuri always keep smiling brightly like a sunflower shine in the sun, I'll meet you soon my Sapphire~", Kanade smiled calmly and teased Yuri in the last part.

"Aww ok I'm waiting for you my Ruby~", Yuri said smiling softly.

"Meet you in the future~", they left while parting ways to their respective directions but no-one knows how things can be different in those just 10 years.

"So let the light guide your way

In the main road side the row of maple trees shedding their leaves like usually but though it looks beautiful but there's a hidden grief all over the feeling of let go.

After all is it so easy to let go? Who knows? Only the mother nature and her creating miracles only have the sources...

A/N:- So this chapter is kinda a little bit of sadness, maybe that's what to do for the next turn for the story. The thing is it's start of a new beginning.
