Till now in When The DISTANCE Becomes The HORIZON—

Yuri and Kanade two met each other in their kindergarten summer camp and became really good friends.

Everything was beautiful, their first meeting, passing their childhood and school years and spending time together till they became 10 years old.

Then Kanade had to leave the City for her mother's serious illness along with her father's shifting to America. Cause in Japan they didn't have enough time to cure her so they had to hurry.

After her Grandma died with that unknown illness Kanade didn't want to waste anytime for the same mistake.

Kanade wanted to be a doctor for future and she wanted to give new life to the people who deserve instead of unfortunate death.

While Yuri was confused about her future and she said she wanted to touch the sky while being friends with aeroplanes and wanted to see the world from high above, along with meeting new people and their lifestyle everyday.

So Kanade suggested her she should be an Air Hostess as Yuri didn't wanna be a Pilot.

Cause she always wanted to do something different while helping people with kindness but later she decided to keep it secret.

Yuri saw Kanade's grief and suggested she could be a great Doctor. Kanade gave a name the name "Sora" to Yuri which means "The Sky" and in return Yuri told her the name "Sakura" which means The "Cheery Blossom".

They gave those names to each other just for fun while enjoying the last day with each other before departing for a long time.

Kanade gave Yuri a chain along with having one with herself. Yuri's one was a light golden chain with a heart shaped ruby pandent while Kana's one a light silver chain with a sapphire heart pandent, giving each other's respective colour red and blue.

They exchanged there last words before saying goodbye and promised they'll meet again in the future.

"I'm waiting for YOU

Until the day We'll Meet Again..."

Third Person's POV

Kiyose, Tokyo, Japan

It's a bright and sunny day and everyone seems to enjoy the sunshine and warm weather. All except for one, of course...

... At Yuri's Place...

Mrs Mahiru opened her bedroom door to find her daughter Yuri laying on her stomach on her bed, head buried in the pillow and not moving at all. The curtains are closed and no lights are on.

"Umm, Yuri? Are you okay?" She asked. She patted Yuri on her head. "Yuriiii-", she called again.

"Whaat?!", Yuri whined. Mrs Mahiru looked at Yuri worried, "Are you okay?"

"No..." Yuri said miserably. "Can you just leave me alone for a minute?", She pleaded.

"Uh okay sure honey", She hesitantly backed away and closed the bedroom door behind her, leaving with a frown on her face.

"Remember me

Though I have to say goodbye

Remember me

Don't let it make you cry

For ever if I'm far away

I hold you in my heart

I sing a secret song to you

Each night we are apart..."

Meanwhile, the bruenette felt as if her heart is ripping into two. "It's not fair," she whined, "I was going to tell Kana about something and... Then she told me she was leaving for America!", Yuri shook her head and screamed into her pillow in frustration,"It's not fair!"...

... With Kanade...

Way to Manhattan, NYC, USA

For Kanade, the plane trip was long and grueling as she stared blankly out the small window. Some of the flight attendants looked concerned at the girl. She couldn't really blame them, though.

Who wouldn't be concerned if you saw a 10 year-old girl (She and Yuri were both 10 then) leaving to America on a plane and wasn't even 1% excited yet?

It was her first time traveling in a plane but she didn't felt happiness. Her parents gave her worried looks but she smiled slightly mouthing "Everything is okay" (Though actually it was not yet...)

"Ladies and gentlemen, we're now about to land at New York City International Airport. As we start our descent, please make sure your seat backs and tray tables are in their full upright position. Make sure your seat belt is securely fastened and all carry-on luggage is stowed underneath the seat in front of you or in the overhead bins. Thank you.", the flight attendants announced before the time of the landing.

Kanade was feeling nauseas and dizzy once the plane landed and she stood up, wobbling on her feet and refusing the help of the flight attendants, Mrs Mikan and Mr Kenta helped her with her luggage.

She stumbled out of the plane and looked at the outside. She stared at all, everyone was working, so busy as NYC always does.

She snapped out of her trance when they hailed a taxi. Her father told the driver the address of their apartment and he packed their suitcases in the trunk before sliding into the backseat.

The taxi flew through the streets until it stops at a packed intersection where the driver starts mumbling about all of the cars on the road, occasionally honking at someone.

There's so traffic jam at the Manhattan Bridge which was lit up beautifully by the evening lights.

She sighed once the taxi stopped in front of a huge building. Her father handed some money to the taxi driver and took their suitcase from the back.

They entered the building and asked the front desk for directions. Kanade looked at the three flights of stairs - gladly there was the elevator.

They arrived at their new apartment. Mr Kenta unlocked the door with his key and pushed the door open to admire this new apartment. It was spacious for a small family.

It opened up into the living room with a flat screen TV and an odd blue patterned couch, a small kitchen and table, a door leads to a bedroom and a bathroom connected to it and an extra room if necessary.

Both of the parents went busy with managing their things while they said Kanade to take some rest, she was tired of that long journey.

The lights were lighting up New York City. Compared to the small city she lived in, this was so much larger and people were crossing the streets even at nighttime, bustling around. Kanade stared at the outside view from the 10th floor apartment they were living.

She took her shoes off and dragged her suitcase to their new bedroom, throwing it onto the carpet floor.

She previously asked her mother to gave Kana her phone and she pulled out her mother's phone from her pocket and jumped back on the bed, the mattress sagging beneath her weight.

The black haired teen scrolled through the phone and reached Yuri's mother's contact number. Mrs Mahiru picked up the phone and later gave it to Yuri.

Yuri: Hey my cheery blossom are you there yet?

She frowned and blushed lightly at the name but replied anyway...

Kanade: Oh my I guess my little sunflower missed me too much?

Yuri: Oh Kana how can I forget about you? Are you at NYC yet?

Kanade: Yeah I reached here half an hour ago.

Yuri: So how was the plane journey? Was it cool? *Half shouting*

Kanade: OOF- don't shout through phone or my ears will bleed *scolded*

Yuri: Oops sorry Granny!

Kanade: Not fair Yuri! I'm not that much old!

Yuri: But you both have white hair...

Kanade: I'm leaving now *groaned*.

Yuri: NOOOOOOOOO I'm changing it, sorry for that *pout*.

Kanade: Alright *sigh*.

Yuri: So where you're leaving? An apartment? You know it's hard life in apartment.

Kanade: I guess this is better than your ones? *Chuckles* ok sorry for that.

Yuri: No problem it's okay and you know Kasumi became my closest friend after you and some new students entered in our school I'm so excited to meet them and make new friends. *Wide grin*

Kanade: Good for you... *Slight smile*

Yuri: So what is NYC like?

Kanade: I don't know. It's really late here and I feel like passing out. I've to go before I fall asleep. I'll call you tomorrow.

Yuri: Ok good night! And tell your mom that my mother will talk with her later. See ya~ *call ended*

She turned off the phone and placed it on the nightstand beside the bed. She was just not feeling well. "I don't know why I'm feeling like this", She thought out loud.

"Is it because Yuri will make other friends, ones that are better and can replace me? Then I'll be alone. But that is my goal, right? Try to forget these feelings about everything and focus on my future", she sighed.

"Remember me

Though I have to travel far

Remember me

Each time you hear a sad guitar

Know that I'm with you

The only way that I can be

Until you're in my arms again

Remember me..."

She stared up at the not moving ceiling fan blankly. She covered her crimson eyes with her arm, felt exhausted and tired.

"I don't want to be forgotten, though..., But can I forgot about her?", She asked out before passing out.

... Some days later...

Yuri was doing as usual in her school while Kanade went to a new school but she became more quite and known as the "Silent Girl" in her new school. She didn't talk to anyone except necessary.

"If you close your eyes and let the music play

Keep our love alive, I'll never fade away..."

A certain girl with green eyes tried to talk with her everyday but she ignored her all the time but one day she gave up and accepted the girl's offer and became friends.

Actually she was the girl's neighbour. The green eyed girl lived just one door ahead of her own.

The girl named Hanako Minasuki had soft brown hair and elegant green eyes. She seemed so genuine that Kanade agreed that she couldn't resist her friendship. They became really close to each other like sisters.

At least Kanade wasn't a fully loner, but from heart she was...

"We met under the sun

We ran in the rain..."

While Yuri started spending time with Kasumi but everyday she thought about her best friend Kanade Kosaka.

"...Also so many things left to unspoken

That I can't even explain"

She called her in a week but she felt like Kanade becoming distanced from her day by day, she just wanted to hug her so tightly that no-one could make them apart again.

"But like the maple leaves fall

You've left me alone and all..."

Kanade was standing in the sun while returning back from school she looked at the blue sky.

"Don't know how to bring back this

Among the white clouds and sunlight kiss..."

Next in Japan , Tokyo, all seasons passed and winter came while in Kiyose, Yuri missing the special one that made her heart full with warmth always.

"Under the heavy snowfall of cold

I'm here still waiting as you've told..."

In New York it was heavy snow falling and everything was covered in snow and making hard days for the busy citizens, but life went on.

"Again the heavy cold breeze

Made my heart to turn stone and freeze..."

And after Winter gone, Spring came and filled Tokyo with beautiful Cherry Blossom, the gift of nature for which Japan is world famous.

Yuri went to the Central Park of Kiyose, watching the Sakura trees all alone.

"But what if the light charming sun melt

With the Sakura leaves falling I've felt..."

In NYC there was beautiful view of Cherry Blossom which made the citizens happy after dealing with the bone freezing winter cold.

Kanade looked at the road from her apartment window seeing the people smiling.

"Still this heart is beautiful and broken

Wondering when if I'll see you again~..."

And they're world's apart, living the complete opposite side of the world, time passed away day by day, season changed as well the connection and bonding with each other.

1 year passed away and they were wondering if they really think about each other that way it was used to be... Not sure about anything...

"Does she really miss me? But can't we just change everything?", Both had the same question in their mind hoping one day everything would be alright.

"If you close your eyes and let the music play

Keep our love alive, I'll never fade away..."

As years passes, the time flows like the waterfall, flowing through the mountains and beating every obstacles like boulders, stones in it's way to grow...

"Remember me

For I will soon be gone

Remember me

And let the love we have live on

And know that I'm with you the only way that I can be

So, until you're in my arms again

Remember me..."

Cause all the support it has, it's own strength, doing everything on it's own. Life goes on... It can't wait for anyone or anything else...
