Third Person's POV
You never know how much someone affected your life until you're breaking down and crying once they're gone forever...
Kiyose, Tokyo, Japan
Japan is always the best for cherry blossom and other side of it this country is filled with nature beauty along with many other countries in this world.
But wherever you live, the place you live is always the best for you cause you've been bonded with it.
The place you born or the place you grew up loving it's everything. No matter what happens you'll return back to respond to this bond...
... At Yuri's Place...
It's been 1 year passed of their last meeting to each other and as they promised they would keep in touch they did but after some days more passed away they started calling each other very often.
They became very busy with their own works, studies, family and future.
And as they'd time difference between NYC and Tokyo things were not so smooth to go.
One day Yuri remembered about her best friend Kanade again. "Mother why can't you call Kana's mother?", Yuri asked.
"Yuri I'm sorry but I've tried for a long time but it always failed I don't know why...", Mrs Mahiru say to her daughter with a sad look.
"Whenever I call Mikan (Kana's Mother) it always says 'Not reachable or out of network' your father tried calling her father but same situation... Maybe they changed everything, but don't worry if they still remembered about us they'll contact us soon", Yuri's mother assured her.
"Oh... Are they alright?", Yuri asked worriedly. "Of course they are! Hey didn't you two promise to meet again with each other in future?", Mrs. Mahiru cheered.
"Oh yes then I'll hug her so tightly that she can't able to escape from me ever again", Yuri giggled and clapped. "That's good I hope that also...", Her mother sighed.
... 2 years later...
Manhattan, New York, USA
... At Kanade's place...
It's been forever since Yuri had last seen or heard from Kanade. She called Kana a few times when she had the chance, but that was it.
Kanade soon started to drift away from Yuri and focused towards her new-and-improved mindset.
And, to be honest, the few times Kanade had actually had time to call Yuri, the other didn't pick up. She instead resorted to texting which ended up with nothing.
At first, the crimson eyed girl thought that maybe there was bad connection; she was wrong. Yuri seemed too busy to talk to an old friend.
Although she really didn't have the time, at least she tried. Tried. She stopped calling once she realised she must have been replaced.
Yuri was busy. And by busy, she meant that she never got a chance to sit down. She missed all the calls and texts from her childhood friend.
Yuri was still too frantic and excited that she forgot all about how much Kanade tried to deny that she treasured the late night calls that traveled into the morning until Yuri's mother scolded her for staying up too late and then texting right after.
Kanade snorted. 'So much about friendship,' she thought as the black haired girl closed her eyes and laid down leaving the notebooks she had reading or writing.
"She wanted me to promise I would never forget her, when I should have asked her to not forget about me...", Kanade sighed heavily, feeling left behind.
Kanade sighed and left the room instead opting to go to the living room since she knew she won't be able to get the bruenette out of her head. She opened the living room door.
"Hello," she greeted, even though she knew no one would reply. She slammed the door behind her as she raised her arms straight up, stretching her sore muscles.
She flipped her hands back to her side and plopped down in front of the TV. She surfed through all the channels just like Yuri had once done, complaining about Kanade's taste in TV shows and Cartoons.
She freezed, thumb hovering over the 8 button. She shook her head vigorously.
"No, I can't think about her. I mean, she won't even call me so what's the point in being her friend if I don't even exist to her? And I'm getting over her already, ever since we kind of broke apart", she reminded herself.
She left the TV on some random shows and she found some cooking shows that were surprisingly interesting.
Kanade always had a great admiration for cooking at the age from 7, she learnt from her Grandma how to cook and she used to bake chocolate cookies with the help of her mother.
Yuri was always a hardcore fan of her cooking. The sapphire eyes of her sparkled everytime she ate Kana's cooking.
The sweet happy memories ran through her head. Kanade slapped herself. "No I won't think about her", she muttered.
"Just another dull, boring part of my life that used to be exciting and the rare times I was truly happy", She pointed.
Doubts started to ring throughout Kanade's head, whispering to her about all her mistakes and making her regret it all.
"I never should have left; I could have stayed with Yuri and kept up with the life I had. Then maybe I wouldn't scare the students at school because of the way I glare, push everyone away and keep being this lonely", she thought and paused.
"Instead, I had to search for my own destiny and leave everyone behind, even my mom - though I doubt she noticed. She glanced at the clock hanging on the slightly peeling wallpaper. It's so lonely here...", She thought out loudly.
As usual her mother and father working every single day and sometimes they came home.
She was already used to it and being self dependent she learnt everything she wanted to stay alive in her place.
After coming to USA, they found a very nice treatment for her mother and they were able to cure her fully that was a great relief for the Kosaka family.
"I guess I'm just used to Yuri and other people around me so I wasn't like this before.....!", She said out.
Tick Tock Tick Tock
The annoying ticking of the clock ringed through Kana's head, seeming to rise above the low volume of the TV.
She lifted her wrists and looked at them in the glowing light of the TV. Faint, white marks dance over his pale skin.
With a sigh, She cuddled up on the couch, hugging a pillow tightly to her chest,"Maybe this nightmare will be over tomorrow; I will be back in Japan, back with Yuri, back with the old memories - there isn't anything wrong with her now, though - and back to the time when I was actually worth something..."
"But did I really amount to anything in the first place?", She cried silently.

... 3 years later...
"Mother who gave me this gift? I can't remember why they gave me this?", Yuri asked her mother holding the pendant chain.
"Yuri don't you remember this ruby pendant was given by your friend Kanade?", Her mother replied while working in kitchen.
"Oh yea Kana...", Yuri didn't feel excited like she used to be while hearing her best friend's name.
~*Flashback*~
Tears running from their eyes. But they had a smile on their face, because they knew that they would see each other again... In the future.
Kanade left with his mom, Yuri left with her. Once they parted ways, they quickly asked their mothers to talk to each other. They called to each other everyday, to see how they were doing.
~*Flashback Ends*~
But everything started to change, they stopped calling, they haven't spoke to each other in years.
'What happened to their Friendship?', first each of their parents worried about them but after then they also forgot about it.
... 5 years later...
"Hey Yuri, do you remember your friend Kanade?" Yuri's mother asked her. "I don't remember anything", Yuri said laying down on her bed while busy with her high school notebook and other stuff.
"Oh... Ok study well I'm going to the piano lessons", her mother bade her farewell before going to Kiyose Primary School where she teaching piano lessons to the students like always she did.
"See ya, take care", she bade goodbye and mind on her works. She stopped what she was doing and stared at the celling, laying down.
Something was not right, why she felt missing something in her life...
"Feels like I'm always waitin'
I need you to come get me..."
"Ghaa why suddenly this come out... I'm hearing this everywhere, kinda irritating. This song definitely disturbing my concentration... But one thing to ask...", Yuri sighed knowing she's completely lonely in her home.
"Why am I feeling so empty?...", Sighing Yuri snapped herself out from some stupid thoughts. "Literally waste of time", and went back to her works.
... Some days later...
Yuri was panicking. She paced back and forth on the tan carpet of her bedroom.
The one day she got off from the brutal training at the PE class, her thoughts suddenly snapped to a certain crimson-eyed girl.
(She remembered Kanade after spotting a red rose growing in a flowerpot by the School Principal's office.)
At the school one day Kasumi, the blonde haired girl with purple eyes the girl met with them at their summer camp spotted Yuri became so silent.
She has no clue what Yuri so upset about. Kasumi knew how much Kanade meant to Yuri, but it was already 5 years spent and there was no news from Kanade after she left Kiyose.
Kasumi frowned at Yuri, she really didn't have to get this worried and crazy-like.
"Yuri, you're overreacting," she comforted through a mouthful of sandwich. Oh yes it was their launch time and Yuri didn't even touch her lunchbox yet.
"I bet Kanade's just fine. You don't need to think about her 24/7, though she won't respond".
Kasumi held Yuri's lunchbox out to her as the bruenette pops a piece of food into her own mouth and shook her head.
"I know Kana better then anybody and, I dunno, I've a feeling something is wrong", she said.
'And I saw something the day she left,' Yuri thought, 'her eyes were filled with hurt, I could see it, and it betrayed the smile on her face that almost seemed forced'.
As Yuri wondered about Kana, 'I've to do something, she thought, 'I bet she is really lonely by herself.'
After school had ended Yuri returned back home and went to her room as she digged around her bedside drawer to find her old phone, her mother's one which was damaged one day in a rainy day by Yuri's own recklessness.
After that Yuri's mother brought another one before scolding Yuri that she needed to stay careful.
For some unknown reason Yuri told her father to repaired it and she used to have it but after high school she left it while having a new one, the phone left there in the drawer being abandoned.
She picked it up and plopped down on her own bed. Yuri pressed the power button. Nothing.
"Ah, it's dead!" She scrambled for a charger and immediately plugged it in.
After a few minutes, the screen was lite up into light. Suddenly, Yuri was spammed with missed text messages and phone calls.
Her phone screen read-
"You have 47 text messages and 37 missed calls"
Yuri winced. "I can't believe I ignored all of that", she frowned and immediately tapped furiously at the screen, skipping through her contacts and finally finding Kana's number aka her mother's number. The bruenette took a deep breath before tapping the call icon.
The call started but Yuri misheard it as ringing actually it beeped then it said-
"The number you called is not available please check the number carefully"
Her heart dropped and she panicked. Yuri frowned and tried many times but at the last time, she was heartbroken cause the number was really not available. She lost her last hope.
"Impressing her is just so damn heard
To stay loyal without going to far
If I see her again promise I won't
Cry..."
... Meanwhile with Kanade...
Kanade splashed icy cold water against her face, making part of her long wet hair bangs stick to her forehead.
She sighed and turned off the water and looked at herself in the mirror smiling, but soon it changed into a sad one and faded.
"It's dangerous what a smile can hide... Isn't it scary?", She half laughed and looked back at herself. "Alone forever again...", she sighed.
"Maybe I should call Hanako anyway we've the same project to attend at least we can discuss about it but though she is here with me but why I feel like I'm missing something in my life? What is it?", Kanade wondered.
"Is there any hope for what's left?
Even a ghost needs a friend..."
Time is precious than the diamond. It's that was most valuable treasure in this universe. No one has the power to stop it from it's state.
But as people says "Time heals everything" if yes then it'll be healed if not you've to move forward forgetting everything you used to have one time...
