so... this is happening i guess.

this is going to be me outlying the plot and timescale for my new fic (which i will definitely not stick to) and explaining why it is i am giving myself another fic to work on when i have one already.

the day may seem a bit random but according to the internet (and anni) today is international harry potter day; 24 years ago today marks the battle of hogwarts apparently.

anyways, enough of that, let's get into it:

why?

this is actually very simple and the short answer is eddie redmayne. i mean... look at him.

the long answer is that i went to the cinema for the first time in about four years (can i get congratulations for that) and i went to see fantastic beasts. this has unleashed a demon in me. no exaggeration. poor cate can attest to that.

with this demon unleashed, i have firmly got back on two trains: a) the harry potter train (no pun intended) and b) the newt scamander simp train. with those two trains in mind, it was only a matter of time until they collided and i caved and started to write a fic. so let me explain the overarching plot of it.

plot

please do bear in mind that this is in it's infancy. i have a basic plot but no more because my attention is firmly focused on panacea with may 4th fast approaching. 

originally, i was going to do another oc book but then i realised there was a perfectly fledged character practically begging for me to use her: leta lestrange.

outside of what has been shown in the films, there is very little canon or legends surrounding her so i can play around with her character a little. she's very complex but then i do love a challenge.

i know that the first book at least (yes, this will also probably be a series) will be set in hogwarts, which is super exciting because i get to explore teenage newt and leta and who doesn't love a good bit of miscommunication and angst.

effectively, this is going to develop the characters in the way that i think they would be developed in r*wling's mind. that being said, i am intending to stick to the few events we know happened during their time at hogwarts but most of this will be right out of my head.

i also know you're thinking: what about her engagement to theseus... that's for later. partly because i only have an inkling about it and partly because i don't want to give away too much now.

i will probably end up recasting newt as younger eddie and i might recast leta but we'll see what happens with those two. the last thing i wanted to talk about was the name of the fic.

name

i am stuck.

i have spoken to a few of my friends and they've given me lovely feedback and helped me narrow it down to two names:

ignem igni (fire on fire)

cor fortium (braveheart)

i love them both but i am stuck because fire on fire is anakin and adrienne's theme song and part of me wants it to be exclusive to them. the other part of me wants to link them together in someway and what better way to do it than with that. so, it's up to you guys basically (hint hint: please comment).

one advantage of having the fics linked is that i can officially introduce the cfu (chloe fiction universe). here is the crudely made logo which i treasure above all else:

for anyone struggling with my humour, this is a joke. i know the universe only partially revolves around me.

what i do know is that the fic will draw on ancient influences quite heavily as rowling did whilst writing harry potter. if you've gotten to the end of my ramblings, congratulations and i hope to have this fic published by about christmas time (the long wait is necessary between panacea, planning this and my real life).
