She was happy. Well, as happy as she could be given her life. Her life was not terrible by all means, she had all she desired but the love of her father nor the love of a mother. Her sister, Rhaenyra tried to give her both. She loved her little sister, after all, she was all she had left from her mother. Aemma Targaryen died minutes after her daughter had been born and king Viserys could not help but resent the little girl on the nursemaid's arms.

The little girl did not cry, making the maester's and midwives fear the worst. The queen was dead, her daughter and son were alive but the little girl made no sound, nor did she open her eyes. Prince Baelon had been born wailing and screaming yet, by the time nightfall came he was gone, his twin sister made it past the first night.

Princess Naerys was a quiet babe. She never cried unless hungry and in pain. Her father never came around to see her or even carry her once. Let alone as she grew older and Emma's ghost came in the form of princess Naerys. Naerys was always in the books or in the sky. Her sister had to pry her off either one. She was never close with her half siblings but she was kind and loving towards when they came looking for her warm embrace.

Daemon would often say Naerys was the best thing that ever came from House Targaryen, despite his attitude and many flaws she loved her uncle and he loved her, despite being much different from him. Growing up, she had asked her father to send her to Dragonstone, where she felt like it was better suited for a lone dragon like herself, the king and his guilt agreed. Rhaenyra had argued with her father and her sister but Naerys had already made up her mind on the matter.

Dragonstone was quiet and cold, just how she liked it. Her staff was made of her most trusted staff, from the maids to the guards to the maesters. Dragonstone became the only home she knew and that was all she wanted, a home to call her own. The few common folk that resided there loved their sweet princess she worried for them and even allowed the Maester's to help and look over the people. Little by little dragonstone became fuller and fuller.

Eventually, she forgot about King's Landing in general, unless her sister or brothers wrote but she did visit for name days or just to see her family. She was rarely seen by lords but when she would return to the city the common folk would call her name and thank her for her help as she would provide them with food or medicine from time to time. Her father, from afar would see Aemma Targaryen born again on his daughter's face. Rhaenyra would smile when she would see her sister being loved and cherished by the people. Alicent never truly got to know the girl who was out of the Red Keep by the time she was barely six summers old. Rhaenys and Corlys often wrote to her too. She loved them, as they were the only paternal figures she had ever had and they saw her as their daughter too.

Naerys did not wish for marriage but she wished to be a mother. One night, when she had turned five and ten, Daemon arrived to Dragonstone to visit his niece and wish her a happy name day. After some cups of wine, the young princess asked her uncle if he had ever been in love, he replied that he fell in love with someone once and despite time passing by he still held love for her. She did not pry and asked who she smiled, knowing that deep down her uncle did have a heart.

That same night she voiced her thoughts on marriage and children. By then, Daemon had a family of his own but no sons, only daughters that he loved. She asked him them, if he would provide her with a child of her own. He of course asked if she knew what she was asking, although being only ten and five she knew how women got pregnant. "I know that no man would want to marry and by the time my father knows about the child, he would be born or even a year or two old" she told him. Daemon looked at her with intrigued eyes. Where was she getting this ideas? He asked himself.

"So, Prince Daemon, would you do me this honor?" Naerys asked. He looked at her. "Are you certain that this is what you want?" Daemon asked. Even when his heart and mind told him to say yes without question and hesitation he knew it was wrong and that he should not even entertained her idea. "Yes. I have been thinking about this for the past year. I just didn't think I was ready till today" she replied surely. "How would you know my seed will even take on the first try?' he asked and she smiled. "I guess we'll keep trying" she told him with a playful look on her face. So, that night, princess Naerys Targaryen and Prince Daemon Targaryen convinced two Targaryen princes. Prince Baelon Targaryen and his twin, prince Aemon Targaryen.

When Daemon returned, nine moons later, she presented twin sons and the Rogue Prince fell to his knees. "I named them after your father and his brother. Baelon and Aemon Targaryen were the best of friends and had such close relationship that I think it's beautiful. Daemon nodded, he did not mind what she named them, after all she was the one who gave birth to the babes not him. That day, the Targaryen prince spend every waking moment with his sons. Bastard sons but his nevertheless. Naerys and Daemon played family while the rest of their family knew nothing but nothing stay hidden. The truth always comes out and this one will get messy way too fast.

"Do you think father will forgive me or you for this?" she asked. She knew her decision had been wrong, Daemon was a married man and she was a princess who was supposed to marry someone to gain a political ally for her father or sister but she wanted to be free. She was to be free of duty. She wanted to love and be happy alone with her children. Just Naerys Targaryen and her children, perhaps even Daemon but she knew that could not be, even if she wished it. Soon, nearly two years after Baelon and Aemon she gives birth to twin girls. One is named Visenya after her ancestor and favorite conqueror and Alyssa after her grandmother. She has tow pairs. Two boys and two girls. The four children look Targaryen and share traits with both their mother and father. Daemon is over the moons.

Daemon and Naerys took their four children on dragon rides moons after being born and gave them dragon eggs. Her secret did not leave Dragonstone but when the king wishes to celebrate her ten and seven name day and find her a fine match truths are reveal and from there on, there is no going back no matter how much she wishes. But, can Daemon finally truly choose Naerys over Laena or will the gods bless them with a chance to be happy. But, nothing is ever that easy with Targaryen's. There is always a price and most of the time is either blood or a life.
