𝙷𝚄𝚁𝚃𝙵𝚄𝙻 𝚃𝚁𝚄𝚃𝙷𝚂

Adara avoided Klaus like a plague. She hated being afraid of him. But not in the way you may think. She was afraid of the confrontation that was bound to happen when she was finally ready to talk about what she felt and thought about him and Caroline. She wanted to avoid it at all costs. Her, Kol, Elijah, and Rebekah were hanging out all the time. Klaus didn't notice, he was too busy hanging out with Caroline to notice but everyone else around them did.

Stefan, Adara, Damon and Elena were also hanging out all the time. The red head wanted to spend as much time with her cousin as she could. In a particular day Adara was out with Elijah. They were walking around the town, the original wanted to show her the historical sights and such. Elijah and Adara walked through the forest. Elijah's ears caught it first. Panting and moaning. Elijah wanted to avoid it but she heard them, as soon as she did she came face to face with an imagine they would haunt and hurt her. Klaus and Caroline making out.

She wanted to cry. She felt this knot on her throat. She wanted to say something but nothing came. She looked at Elijah with pleading, begging him to get her out of there. He understood and did so. They arrived at the Salvatore house where ironically everyone was relaxing at. The eldest original tried to stop her. "They warn me about him, I should've fucken listened" she said as she slammed the door shut. Everyone got quiet. They knew. It was obvious to everyone but Klaus and Caroline that they all knew.

Elena opened her arms for her as Adara hugged her. "I don't understand" she said with a long pause. "Was I not good enough?" as soon as she asked that question everyone jumped to her defense. Kol, her best friends snapped. "Shut up, darling. Please. I refuse to let you talk about yourself like that" he said with a smile. She smiled but everyone knew it wasn't a real one. She was trying to act tough. They all stayed quiet. They knew she didn't want to talk about it.

𝚃𝙷𝙴 𝙾𝚃𝙷𝙴𝚁 𝚆𝙾𝙼𝙰𝙽

Klaus walked into the Salvatore first, minutes later Caroline did too. The moment Caroline stepped in everyone got up and walked away. Caroline left the couple alone. Neither of them said anything. He tried to kiss her but she moved away. "From the day we met, I knew you'd hurt me eventually" he was gonna reply but she beat him to it. "It's not the fact that you kissed her, it's the feeling of betrayal that I just can't seen to shake. Everyone tells me I should walk away but I just want to stay. But my friends say "we know you love him but it's over. It doesn't matter but please walk away. It's never easy to walk away. Let him go. It will be okay. It's gonna hurt for a bit of time, but you'll fine another and you'll be just fine" she took a deep breath.

"It all makes sense now. That day, at the ball, you were expecting her at the ball, weren't you? And if I hadn't showed up, me and you wouldn't have gotten together" everything made sense in that moment. "I'm sorry, love" he said for the first time and she scoffed. "I'm sorry that somewhere along the way, I started trusting you" she replied. She smiled, it was a bitter smile. "I guess it was inevitable, yet I still regret it" she added. A flash of hurt was seen in his eyes. For so long I thought it would be me and you, forever. I felt at home and complete when I was with you" she stopped as she looked outside. "But now, every time I see or I'm near you I just feel more alone" Klaus walked over to her. He held her hand and stopped. He was just... staring at her.

"Forgive me, please. I'll do anything for you to forgive me. I'll leave her. I'll love to Forks with you. I'll forget my stupid plan at world domination" before, Adara would've melted and immediately would've said yes. She would've jumped of excitement and joy. "We can't start over, Klaus. Even after what happened between Bella and Jacob I never felt insecure. But you, damn you, Klaus. You made me feel insecure" once again he was about to talk. "I wish I could say there's still hope but it's time for you to know that some times things do go your way" she took a deep breath. "It's over, Klaus. We're done" she stood up ready to walk away when he stopped her.

"No!" he yelled as he pulled her back to him. "You promised you'd never leave me!" he yelled and she scoffed. "And you promised to love me always and forever" she replied calmly. "But if you couldn't keep that promise with your family nor that loyalty, I don't know what made me think you'd do it for me" she added. "You love me. You won't leave me" Klaus said so sure of himself. "You can't tell me I am in love with you because you were too busy being in love with her to notice" Klaus was shocked but the revelations.

"Yeah. You thought I wouldn't notice?" she asked. "It's Caroline. It's always gonna be Caroline" she said in a whisper. She looked at him, ready to ask her last question even when she was fighting about it. "Did you ever love me?" she asked and he was about to reply when she stopped him. "You know what? Never mind. I already know the answer" he held her close still. "I'm always gonna be the other woman, aren't I?" she asked. She pulled away as the tears began to fall.

"I might have been your "girlfriend" but you've always loved her. Caroline Forbes. The pretty little blonde girl with the pretty green-blue eyes. The one you actually love. I hope she makes you happy and gives you what I couldn't" this time, she didn't stop because if she did, she knew she would forgive him. It was over. For good this time.
