Everyone was playing a waiting game. Adara was dead but no one else knew. Charlie was told that she wasn't feeling too good so she had to stay isolated in case of anything but they kept him informed. It was no lie that even when the babies were safe and sound everyone was still holding their breathes. What if she didn't wake up? What if Elijah's blood didn't work? What if Edward's bite didn't work? So many questions with no answer.

Immortality wasn't something Adara thought about often. To be honest she never really thought about it. She had no need to, she was normal. At least she thought she was at first. It was the first day after the twins birth. "Why isn't she awake yet?" Damon asked. "It takes time" Kol replied but it was like a lie. "You know that's a lie. It doesn't take this long for someone to wake up. It took Elena a couple of hours and it did the same with Caroline and Tyler. So, why is she not awake?" Damon asked. Everyone knew Damon was right but they had hope. "Let's give it more time. Edward bite her so that might have affected her" Elijah said although him himself was trying to stay positive. Everyone was lying to themselves.

Two days. Three days. Four days. Five days. Six days. Seven days. A whole week had passed and Adara never woke up. Adara Swan was officially dead. It was done for. The question was now what? The burial took place at the cemetery of Forks. Elijah compelled Charlie to keep her death a secret for sometime. The sheriff was suffering. It was like losing a daughter. They told him she died a childbirth. It was no lie, it was the full truth. She died delivering the last baby. Stefan sat by her, waiting for her to come back but she never did.

The funeral wasn't known. It was only known by her family member Charlie and her close friends.

They were all saying goodbye at the Cullen home. The Uley pack went first. Charlie would be the last one. Stefan saw a glimpse of the future they could have had if she had lived.

It was the same with Damon.

"If she would've stayed human and lived she would've ended up with one of you. Maybe both" Alice said to the Salvatore brothers. Both brothers wished that that could've happened. Even if it meant they would have to share her. They didn't care. They just wanted her to live.

Everyone said their goodbyes and the girl was buried.  A young soul who died too soon. Gone before her time. Adara Swan should've lived. She should've seen her kids grow up. She should've been there, every step of the way. But, she wasn't. She was dead. At least, her family line didn't end with her. She left a great legacy behind.
