!!!!!PLEASE TAG PEOPLE!!!!!
Rain pattered on the soggy ground beneath my feet, frigid temperatures blowing harsh winds and fat drops of water in my face. My fingers red and numb, tingling hotly despite the freezing air surrounding me.
Based on how cold it was, it seemed strange that it wasn't snowing. I took a fearful glance at the lake beside me as if I expected something to crawl out of the half-frozen mushy surface. I shivered, both at the thought and from the cold.
I shook my head and turned away, rubbing my arms with my shaking hands as if it would help me at all. I'm going to die out here, I thought. Alone.
Knowing that, however, didn't make me any more content with death.
I wish I was, but human nature never lets us accept death. That animal instinct in the back of our brains is afraid of it. It causes anxiety and panic when it feels as if it's in danger. It'll do anything to prevent- however certain it is- your demise.
There was a loud crinkling of fallen leaves behind me, sounding like something had stepped on them. I whirled around, shivering and afraid, half expecting to see a deer, perhaps a mountain lion, anything that could live out in the wild that is natural. Something you'd see in nature and not think "what the hell is that?!"
I honestly wish I'd seen a mountain lion.

In a small town essentially in the middle of nowhere, far too many people have been going missing. Each victim was apparently last seen near the woods just outside the town, but their full bodies are never found. The police managed to track down bits and pieces of the bodies, but they were rarely able to determine the identities of the victims.
And yet, despite the warnings of the news, people continue to be drawn towards the woods, traveling in a never returning.
This begs the question: what, or who, is lurking in the forest? Why is it killing innocent people, and why do these innocent people continue to venture the dangerous woods?
That's exactly what a group of friends and strangers go to find out. A small expeditions formed by a few civilians without the police or the mayors permission. These people don't have common interests, and hardly any of them are even friends with each other.
All they can do now is hope that figuring out what's out there is not a lost cause.
