一 hayes' pov

after that weird ass group attacking me i had no idea how to feel about this new school. walking into the school, i received odd stares. i guess this place wasn't so friendly.

that one girl seemed nice. she smiled me when the rest were bashing me for the shirt i'm wearing. they played themselves, i do skate.

i already had my schedule with me so i made my way to my locker grabbing everything i needed before going to my first class.

in there i talked to a few guys who seemed nice enough to be friends with. i was so deep into a conversation with them once i looked around the whole class was full.

"sorry about my friends." a voice spoke. i looked behind me seeing the girl who's name i haven't learned yet talking to me.

"it's cool. i see y'all have a squad thing going on, i get it." i laughed awkwardly.

"they aren't mean i promise." she assured me.

i turned in my seat so i was facing her. "what's your name?"

"ardyce."

"like artist?"

"like a, r, d, y, c, e." she spelled it out.

"that's cute. i'm hayes." i told her.

"i know," ardyce smiled. "you should sit with us at lunch."

"uh, you sure that'd be fine?" i questioned.

"yes! i got your back if they try to fight you."

"they'll try that?"

"no but alex would. don't worry about him though."

i did ended up sitting with ardyce and her friends at lunch. currently we were the only ones there at the table.

"come on, what is he doing here?" alex groaned once him, the girl with brown hair and bright clothes, and the girl with green hair got to the table. i needed to figure these other people's names.

"he's new and he needs good friends." ardyce grinned, folding her hands on the table. she was purposely making him mad.

"i'm fine without friends actually." i whispered to her but she shushed me.

alex shook his head. "he has to go, ard." what was this guy's problem?

"chill." the flashy girl nudged him. he mumbled something to her and then they became indulged in a conversation. soon more people came to the table and it was everyone i saw earlier that day.

"hey, what's everyone's names?" i asked ardyce.

"oh yeah," she started to the girl beside her with brown and redish hair and the boy beside her. "this is freya, and next to her is parker."

"you already know alex, that's rain, hester, wesley, noel and jacob." ardyce pointed around the table.

"so.. you do actually skate right? i feel like ardyce here has made a new friend." jacob spoke up from his spot beside me.

"i skate, yeah."

"are you any good?" hester questioned, seeming interested.

i only shrugged. "i like to think so."

"skate park after school," alex pointed at me. "suggest you be there."

i smiled and nodded. "i'll be there." i had nothing better to do anyway.
