一 jacob's pov

after my baby giving me the best gifts i've ever had, i invited the whole crew to hang at the skatepark. i was going to bring us all pizza but alex decided to and wouldn't let me buy anything.

"alex a real one." freya laughed, bringing a slice up to her mouth.

the crew all laid scattered out on picnic blankets on the grass. we hadn't done this in a while.

"he is." rain kissed his cheek. we all were confused on their friendship because they weren't together but acted like it. i looked at ardyce who looked at me, holding up a L to her forehead.

when hayes slipped up and got ardyce high -- which is a sight to see other than myself -- she went on a rant about how tired she was of alex and rain not admitting their love for each other.

she claimed rain was scared of commitment and alex we actually inexperienced but she'd reveal they're actually fucking on the low. i laughed about it to myself.

"sigh, i remember when parker and freya starting talking." ardyce began. i couldn't tell why she was taking about this. everyone else thought that too as we gave her a confused look. "i just feel like bringing up memories."

"no, i remember when i first got here and ardyce couldn't stop staring at me." hayes brought up making us laugh. he nudged ardyce making her push him away playfully. how cute.

hester snorted, "because she was obsessed with you."

"she still is." i added.

"eh, that's true." she shrugged with a nod, not denying it.

"i don't think hayes realizes how lucky he is to be in our squad," freya began quietly as she laid on her side.  her rare serious side was coming out and we all knew we were about to be in our feelings. "after what happened i think we came a pretty long way with trust."

parker nodded, sitting up and wrapping his arm around his girlfriend. "thanks hayes for making ardyce happy and being a good friend." parker said making us all think in silence for a moment. hayes never turned on us or made any signs that he would.

we were like a family. it felt nice. we were true friends and we wouldn't want it any other way. in the future i feel like we'll still be friends.

hopefully we will be.
