              ROE WATSON IS LIVING A DOUBLE LIFE. By day, she roams the halls with Addy Hanlon and Beth Cassidy as one of the top bitches on the Sutton Grove cheer leading team, a superficial land of glitter, hair bows, body standards and fake bitches. A life she never asked for when she took up the sport at thirteen. When she joined the team, she had no idea about the mental toll it was going to take, the things Beth Cassidy would make her do, all in the name of the team.

          BY NIGHT, ROE IS FLASH BOWIE, LEAD SINGER OF SUGARLESS, an eighties hard rock cover band. With her bold fashion and her deep purple wig, it's where Roe feels the most like herself, belting out Def Leppard songs like her life depends on it, which it sort of does. Roe has an image to keep up, one that would shatter if anybody was to find out about Sugarless. Her life as she knew it would end: ostracizing her from the team, the potential of losing Navy-bound boyfriend Jack Trainer, the death of her lively social life. Roe never knew her father, an active duty MI-6 agent who met her mother on mission in Malta. Carrie Watson gave up a lot of thing for her daughter, including her own career as a professional cheerleader for the NFL. Carrie always had high standards for her daughter, and Sutton Grove's cheer team was one of them. The disappointment her mother would feel if her double life was exposed would kill Roe.

       ROE HAS SOME DEEP SEATED ISSUES WITH COLETTE FRENCH. Does nobody else think it's strange how she just invites the squad into her own personal life, hosting garden parties like it's nothing? Or the way she strides in and takes control right out from Beth's hands, telling squad members they're too fat, or eat too much, or not to act like sheep but to also follow here every command. Or when she threatened to out Roe's double life as a cover band singer and effectively cut her form the squad after she accidentally walks in on Collette and navy recruiter Sargent Will. None of it sits right with Roe, and when French sends Beth Cassidy and Addy Hanlon on separate downward spirals, she's done sitting around. It's time for her to do something about it.

          ON A MORE PERSONAL LEVEL, ROE HAS BIGGER FISH TO FRY, like her relationship issues. Jack is set to ship off for a navy training base in Hawaii over the summer, and Roe is terrified of losing her third- not first, because that was in public school, when Roe loved too easily, and not second, in freshman year when Kevin thought she was a stalker- love. She's scared Jack will meet somebody new, scared that he's going to get himself killed before he turns twenty-one. All of these fears are creating distance between the happy couple. Jack doesn't know about Roe's double life, why would he? Jack is in love with Roe Watson, not Flash Bowie, and if word gets out, shes terrified of how he's going to react

          AS COLETTE FRENCH DRIVES THE CHEER TEAM TO MUTUALLY ASSURED DESTRUCTION,  the team's reckless behavior catches up with them and Roe grapples with her identity and her future, the death of Coach French's clandestine military lover Will is the last thing anybody needs.
