Wow, I can't believe the first time I see them would only be just a glimpse as they literally dash by. One could only guess what Atsumu did to Osamu— probably steal his food or something along those lines, I reckon.

Ah, yes. I just saw the infamous Miya twins. How exciting! I can't help but wonder what their personalities are like. I guess I'll just have to wait and see. I'm sure I'll bump into them again sooner or later. After all, whatever plot armor I have demands it.

As M/N was allocated to his first-year class, the first thing that he noticed was the rather odd arrangement of the tables.

M/N hadn't seen such a peculiar table plan since his past life in primary school. The seats were literally the definition of an organized mess. They were in no specific order, with both even and odd numbers of joined seats. It kind of resembles the structure of a movie theater. Choosing a place, M/N had opted to pick the empty seat at the back of the classroom, by the window.

M/N's table was at the furthest end of the class with an empty seat beside him, suggesting that M/N was about to get a partner.

'I wonder who it could be? Probably not someone I would know, that's for sure' M/N thought to himself.

M/N stand corrected. He recognized the person who had the honor to be sitting beside him in mild shock. What a lucky guy that person is, especially to be graced by the handsome M/N himself.

What honor? You mean misfortune?

X commented as he took a glance at M/N's new seatmate, who obviously has no clue of X's existence.

Ignoring X's irrelevant opinion, M/N continued to look at his seatmate in some form of bewilderment. He hadn't expected to recognize anyone from his class. As ultimately, he was a first-year, and the more popular figures in Haikyuu Inarizaki were in the second or third year.

Honestly, M/N initially hadn't recognized the person sitting beside him at all. After all, he wasn't as prominent of a character like the eccentric Miya twins or their hot as fuxk captain. But that little tremble of his hands that M/N observed as he sat down instantly jolted M/N's already fading memory. His new partner was none other than Riseki Heisuke.

"Hey, I'm er your buddy for the extent of your stay in Inarizaki. It's nice to meet you, I'm Riseki Heisuke. Welcome to Inarizaki." Riseki introduced himself, giving a small polite bow with his head.

"Ah, it's nice to meet you as well, I'm Akiri M/N from Karasuno." M/N gave a slight tilt of his head towards the ground in return.

"Well then Akiri, after this lesson, I'll show you around the school during our break. Is that alright with you?" Riseki questioned, his tone and speech still extremely polite.

"Yeah sure, of course." M/N agreed easily, happy that there would at least be someone to guide him around so that he wouldn't get lost.

Riseki is an over-thinker, which makes him a little paranoid. His nervousness radiates in waves as he leads M/N around the school. And it was exactly those traits of his that led to M/N's recognition, which is presumably a good thing.

"Yeah, so last but not least, this is the cafeteria!" Riseki introduced the last location excitedly.

After M/N and Riseki had bought their food, they sat together at an empty table chatting away.

"Oh, you're in the volleyball club here?" M/N questions as Riseki mentions the volleyball team in Inarizaki.

"Yeah, but of course, I'm not a starting player. Honestly, I get extremely anxious whenever I get to go on court which is quite rare and the nerves that comes with it kills me, which doesn't help. So I'm hardly ever selected to play, even as a pinch server." Riseki visibly shivers as a forlorn look drifted past his face.

Not even a second later, his prior sadness was gone as quickly as it came as Riseki shook his head laughing lightly, "Ah I'm so sorry for going on a boring mini rant. You probably didn't even understand the volleyball terminology either, sorry."

M/N shook his head with an almost mischievous smile on his lips, "Not at all Riseki-kun, don't worry, I understand fairly well."

Riseki perked up, "You do?! Do you play volleyball too?"

M/N tilted his head slightly, shrugging lightly, "I dabble."

Riseki looked excited now, "Gosh Akiri-kun! I didn't know that you at least play some volleyball, how about you join the team? You are required to join a club while you're here after all!"

M/N smiles softly, "I might just take you up on that offer"

"Excellent!"

"Alright, gather round! Let me introduce you all to our newest member of the team, Akiri M/N." Coach Kurosu introduced.

"Oh! A new member? This late into the year?" Atsumu questions as he eyes M/N.

"Yes, Akiri is an exchange student from Karasuno. So he'll be here temporarily." Coach Kurosu answers.

Atsumu kept quiet as he continued to stare at M/N with an indescribable look.

"Quit staring!" Osamu whisper yells as he secretly nudges his twin which was returned by Atsumu sticking out his tongue at Osamu defiantly.

M/N shook his head discreetly at the twins with a hidden ghost of a smile tracing his lips. 'What an interesting pair'.

"Well, Kita, as captain I expect you to guide him okay? You guys can go set up the nets first." Coach Kurosu instructs as he pats Kita on the back.

"Yes, Coach." Kita bows as he then proceeds to lead M/N towards where the pieces of equipment are placed.

Once they were out of sight, this time, Suna curiously questions the coach, "Why is he here?"

Not fully understanding Suna's inquiry Coach Kurosu simply replied, "Cause he joined the club?"

Suna shakes his head before Aran clarifies, "What Suna meant was that we've never had anyone join the club as a temporary member during any of the exchange programs. And I guess we somehow thought that it was some kind of unspoken rule that they weren't allowed to join the volleyball club."

"Ah, I see." It was only then did Coach Kurosu understood what they were trying to convey.

"Well, firstly it's because no one was ever interested in joining the volleyball club. It's just too taxing in their opinion, especially with our club's reputation. Most exchange students are more inclined to join more relaxing clubs like the book club during their visit here in Inarizaki, as after all, they are temporary. Secondly, Riseki introduced him to me so I kinda have to at least consider. Lastly, no one has ever passed my judgment on them to even think of stepping foot into this very gym. After all, we can't have just anyone joining, now can we?" Coach Kurosu lets out a small grin as he eyed the rest of the team who stood in front of him.

"So you're saying he meets your standards Coach? You've already tested for his skills?" Osamu questions.

Coach Kurosu laughs a little as he shrugged, "Nah, I haven't."

Witnessing his students' faces contort into one of visible confusion, Coach Kurosu laughs lightly once more before shaking his head, a mysterious look swam in his eyes as they followed M/N who was setting up the nets with Kita, "For some reason, I believe he's got it."

Somehow, the look on their coach's face was making Aran, Atsumu, Osamu, and Suna uncomfortable, while the rest like Akagi, Omimi, and Riseki just looked puzzled. Why does Coach Kurosu find him capable?

The main question that now lingers is, 'Who is this Akiri M/N, and is he as proficient as what Coach Kurosu envisions?'

M/N is finally joining the Inarizaki team yay!🥳 (Temporarily of course, since we wouldn't want an even more angry Coach Washijo on our backs now would we? It's already bad that M/N didn't go to Shiratorizawa, if M/N stays in Hyogo permanently Washijo would blow. How else was he going to seduce M/N into Shiratorizawa if he doesn't see M/N?)

And wow, I am awful at personalities. Apologies for any OOC-ness in all of the characters in Haikyuu. Damn it's getting harder to write as the story progresses. Why did I decide to grant M/N the favor to go to Inarizaki again? Could've just ask X to kill M/N off 😒. I'm kidding okay? Don't be alarmed, it was a joke...well most of it anyways.
