"Kageyama, do you want to come over to my house?" I asked out loud after volleyball practice, while we were all packing up to leave.

"HAH?"

"What in the name of salted caramel?"

"WHAT?! M/N-chan!" ❗❗

A series of gasps and outbursts were ignited, apparently being elicited by my simple question, with Kageyama shockingly remaining silent.

Iwaizumi turned around after hearing the commotion (namely Oikawa's very loud flare-up), "What's happening now?"

"Iwa-chan! M/N-chan wants to take Tobio-chan home!" Oikawa grabbed onto M/N, pouting as he whined to Iwaizumi.

"And what's wrong with that?" Iwaizumi asked raising a brow.

"But- I- house..." Oikawa couldn't formulate a proper answer.

"Keep your mind out of the gutter Trashykawa." Iwaizumi shook his head and casually taking M/N out of Oikawa's frozen hold.

Oikawa stood there unblinking for a moment as if letting his thought process load.

'Oh. I automatically associated... I blame M/N-chan for this though. If he hadn't- I wouldn't have... Gosh' Oikawa thought to himself as he smacked a hand to his face, to wake himself up.

Meanwhile, Kunimi was just sulking in the corner with many questions uncontrollably flooding his mind.
'Why didn't M/N invite me?
Why only Kageyama?
What does Kageyama have that I don't?
I've known M/N longer than Kageyama, so why him and not me?
Am I not worthy enough to be invited?'

Kunimi was upset. He had known M/N longer and never had M/N ever initiated for him to visit his house. :(

'This sucks...' Kunimi thought as he plopped himself down onto the bench, forgoing the idea to pack up.

"Sure," Kageyama replied after the Oikawa commotion had died out.

"Okay! Let's head over right now, is that alright with you?" M/N's eyes sparkled in delight.

"Yeah, it's fine with me" Kageyama nodded.

"Great! Let's go once you're done packing."

And once they were done, both M/N and Kageyama left the gym together, not forgetting to wave the others goodbye(while ignoring the sad kicked puppy look on both Oikawa and Kunimi's faces)

"Welcome to my humble abode!" M/N introduced as he dragged Kageyama into his house.

"Sorry for intruding" Kageyama bowed and uttered as he enters through the front door.

"What the heck are you saying Kageyama? No one's home." M/N pursed his lips in amusement.

"Eh? Oops." Kageyama awkwardly rubs the back of his neck.

"Then where-?" Kageyama hesitantly spoke.

"Where's my family?"

Kageyama only nodded in response to M/N.

"I'm an only child and my parents divorced years ago. I live with my mother who is obviously currently still at work." M/N answered simply as if narrating a story that wasn't his.

"Oh. Sorry about-" Kageyama began.

"About asking questions regarding my family? It's fine, there's isn't anything too personal anyways." M/N shrugged.

Kageyama opts to look blankly at M/N. Before asking, "May I look around your house?"

"Yeah sure, go ahead. Just make sure to not break anything. Or else I'll skin you for inducing my mom to skin me alive." M/N agreed, but not forgetting to warn Kageyama that if he was getting punished for his friend damaging something, Kageyama would be sure to be getting whacked by M/N too.

Kageyama gulped in fear as he instead of going on to explore M/N's house, stood rooted on the spot.

"Eh? You aren't going to look around the house anymore?" M/N questioned as he placed his school bag down onto the ground by the front door.

"I think I'll pass M/N-kun"

"Oh okay then let's go shower first. I'm feeling all sticky from practice and it really isn't a nice feeling." M/N spoke as he led Kageyama to his room before busying himself at his wardrobe.

Kageyama awkwardly rubbed the nape of his neck, "Um, I'd like to shower and get clean too, but I don't have any spare clothes."

"Don't worry, I got that covered!" M/N finally popped his head out of his closet, finally finding an article of clothing that looked compatible with Kageyama's physique.

M/N once spotting suitable clothes for Kageyama, eagerly pulled it out before mindlessly tossing it at Kageyama.

"Hey!" Kageyama calls out to M/N annoyed that M/N managed to throw the clothes at an angle that caused the clothes to fall directly right smack on Kageyama's face.

"Oh suck it up you big baby!"

"Whatever...😒" Kageyama uttered before hopping into the shower, not forgetting to bring the clothes that M/N offered to him inside.

"Iwa-chan~" Oikawa wailed as he sniffles.

"Oh god, what is it Shittykawa?" Iwaizumi asked sounding really annoyed.

Both best friends were currently on their way back home from volleyball practice, but today, Oikawa was being extra whiny due to 'Tobio-chan getting to go to M/N-chan's house'.

"Why does Tobio-chan get to go to M/N-chan's house?" Oikawa huffed.

"That annoying Tobio-chan does not deserve that honor!"

Iwaizumi rolled his eyes, "Why don't you ask M/N yourself instead? And why do you seem to not like Kageyama? From what I see, he's a pretty nice boy."

"Hm...maybe I should. And bleh, Tobio-chan is-is a-" Oikawa's lips twitched in reluctance as he struggled to get the words out.

Oikawa paused for a moment, taking in a huge breath before continuing.

"He's a genius. He has the inborn talent that I will never have." Oikawa's voice was laced with a hint of hatred as he spoke. "And he'll soon exceed me in terms of setting even if I work just as hard. I don't like that... I guess I'll just have to work harder to not make it a reality." Oikawa gave out a gentle sigh in the end.

'Plus, I don't want to be benched and replaced by him' was left unsaid as Oikawa's lips formed a bitter smile.

"Yah Trashykawa, you better not overwork yourself!" Iwaizumi crossed his arms looking at his childhood friend in aggression laced with an underlying blanket of concern.

"Eh Iwa-chan! Why can't you be nicer to me? I had just spoken my mind!" Oikawa pouted.

"Then don't speak nonsense then! Kageyama is good, I admit that, but you don't pale in comparison to him at all. Shittykawa, I'm only going to say this once so you better listen up. It doesn't matter that what Kageyama does and what you can't do. It's about what you can do, and you are able to connect with people in a way that others can't. You can easily adjust and blend into any team you're in. Use it to your advantage. Focus on what you can do, and continue to hone that."

"I didn't know you had that in you Iwa-chan!" Oikawa grinned.

"Shittykawa..." Iwaizumi chided.

Oikawa's face turns serious, "Yeah I'll note that down. Thank you Iwa-chan." A small smile graced Oikawa's lips.

"No problem Kawa." Iwaizumi too flashed a rare smile.

"Oh my god! You called me Kawa again! And you smiled too!"

"URASAI TRASYKAWA!"

I actually almost forgot to update today... Oops?

I do hope I got an accurate representation of the characters' personalities and attitudes since it's a little difficult to be writing while gauging each character's personality and ensuring that it fits into the story.

We should be entering high school soon, maybe in a few more chapters' time(though I can't give an accurate number since it may vary and turn out to take a longer time). So be excited for high school since I'll finally be able to write more ✨exciting✨ scenes(I'm pretty sure I gave the warning already so... ^•^)
