Class (Draft)

After we went out for lunch, Alex left to pack his stuff, and I went to my next class. I sat down and saw Marcus staring at me from a few rows over. The professor talked about designing. Sharing her long and quite boring story of her experiences with 3D designing.

Marcus stood up and started walking towards me. "Mr. Grey," Mrs. Cornious said. "Am I boring you?" she demanded.

"No, ma'am. I was moving seats because mine was broken." He lied. He was always great at lying. He was able to fabricate stories like it was nothing. "Hurry up then," she continued her story and Marcus sat next to me. 'Why me?' I asked myself.

"Do you think your boyfriend'll mind if I'm sitting next to you?" He whispered to me. I ignored him.
"Why don't you like me?" He asked.
"Shut up, please." I said passive aggressively. He listened intently to Mrs. Cornious. "You know, she'a got a point." He said after a while. "What?"

"Yeah, 3D designing isn't just for builders or graphic designers. She said that everyone just says it for them, when it can just as easily be used in the medical field or in science." I rolled my eyes. That was so like him. Trying to break the ice by making a relatively smart comment. I said nothing. I knew the story wasn't interesting, and I knew that he knew it too. But he was just trying to get to me.

He wanted to find a way to make me like him. He did the same thing when he was trying to ask me out when we were in high school.

Marcus followed me to what would be my locker. I put my new books in and slammed it shut. "Why do you keep following me?" I asked while smiling. "You're interesting." he grinned charmingly. "You're smart, pretty, great at basically everything, and super sexy." he said cheekily. I blushed and put my head down. "Whatever," I said while pushing my hair behind my ears.

"I'm not kidding." he paused. "You seem to know everything. You made me want to learn about Euclidean and if you know anything about me, you know I hate reading. You made ME, Marcus Grey, want to read! I don't know about you, but I think you should get a Nobel Prize." he continued. I laughed.

"You know, I think we'd be great together." I giggled at that.

"Me, Dahlia Max, weird girl and you, Marcus Grey, the guy?"

"Yeah! Come on! Our families went on summer vacation together, we know a good lot about each other. You're smart and can make me learn. I'm not very smart, but I can make you have fun! And, for the cherry on top, we're both extremely sexy."

He was always able to make me laugh. "I mean they say that opposites attract. And I'm attracted to you. I'm like 93% sure you feel the same. The only thing that we share is our sexiness. But even still, I think I still top you for that one. Just a little bit, though." he smirked.

"Said the Drooling Goblin!" I said. I came up with the name over the summer. I had gotten up early and went to wake him up, but he was drooling like a baby.
"I am, thank you for noticing. Yet another reason for you and me to become a thing. Ha! That rhymed!" He was so cute. And he was right. I did like him.

"I'll take you to dinner and a museum!" Ah, he knew the way to get to me. Food and architectural history.

"Yeah... yeah I'll go out with you." I blushed even harder. He cheered. Then he got close to me and kissed me. It was awkward. Not only was it my first, but it was in school. Right at that moment, Mrs. Jacobson walked by.

"Marcus Grey!" He quickly moved away from me.

"What are you doing! You know that PDA's aren't allowed in this school. DE-TENTION!" She screeched. "And Ms. Dahlia, I'm very disappointed in you! You know better. You get a warning." she said while shaking her head. She walked away, heels clicking. The halls were clear except for me and Marcus. He grinned widely and whispered to me, "It was worth it." Then he walked towards his next class seminar.

I sighed. I wanted to block out the memory but they came all the same. It made me sad. And angry. To think I could be so stupid. I was too ignorant to even question it. After we were together for so long, I thought that we'd always be together.

It was stupid. I should've realized that he didn't love me. I was stupid to fall for him and let my heart be broken by a soulless, arrogant, uncaring guy like him. He looked at me.

"Are you okay?" he asked softly.

"Yes!" I hissed. My eyes were watering. I turned my face away quickly.

'Don't do this Dahlia! Nope! Don't let him get to you again!' I told myself in my head.

The class ended a little while later and I hurried out. Alex was smiling outside of the room. He looked at me, concerned by the tears ready to spill out of my eyes. He was very perceptive, especially for a guy that I just met. He slung his arm over my shoulders and grabbed my stuff. He was a pretty good guy. Instead of shrugging off his arm, I let it stay there. It was comforting.

"I knew you'd come around to me." He said quietly.
