Alex (Draft)
He sat down on my bed with me in his arms. I put my head on his shoulder.
"Cass," he said. "You're drunk, and I'm tired. I've got to go to bed. I'm working tomorrow." He whispered.
"No, don't leave me," I begged while holding him tighter. He was the only person that I wanted to be around. Who I felt like I could trust.
"Okay," he said while putting me down. He laid next to me. I curled up in his warm body. He grabbed a blanket from the bottom of my bed and put it on top of me.
"Hey, Cass?" He whispered.
"Hmm?"
"What happened?"
"What do you mean?"
"To you? To make you this way?" My head was fuzzy and my eyes were closing. I fell asleep before I could answer.
I woke up with a horrible headache. My head was pounding. I turned around and took off my blankets.
"Oh gods," I said while holding my head. I sat on the edge of my bed. There was a knock on my door. It was Alex.
"Hey there," he smiled.
"Oh gods, did we-?" I said while remembering only bits of what happened with him last night. He laughed heartily. He didn't have a shirt on.
"No, nothing happened. Despite what many think, I'm not a horrible person." He said while walking into the room. The smell of eggs and bacon came into my room. I got out of my bed and stumbled. My feet were so sore. Alex caught me.
"Hey, you might wanna change." He laughed again. I was still in the extremely tight and short dress from last night. I scowled.
"Maybe you should get a shirt on," I mumbled. He let go of me. "You only want me to because you know that you'd get distracted even more than you already do by me without a shirt on." I pulled out a pair of jeans and a shirt from my drawer. He looked confused. "What's the look for?" I asked.
"I don't understand what I just said..." he furrowed his brows then walked out of my room. I laughed. He was so stupidly cute.
My head was still pounding and I went to take a shower. I washed my hair and tried to recall the events from last night. I had a few fuzzy images of a dark-haired, emo looking boy. I turned off the water and heard Alex messing with things in the makeshift kitchen.
"Give me the power of man's red flower
So I can be like you," he continued on. I got dressed. He turned around when he heard the door open. He smiled, "Oh, oobee doo
I wanna be like you!" I scoffed and sat down at the little table. He put a plate in front of me with a glass of water and two pills.
"You're giving me drugs with my food?"
"They're just aspirin. I should be getting a 'Thank you, Alex! You're the best, Alex!'" He said in a high pitched voice.
"How about a, 'You're so hot, Alex! I wanna kiss you, Alex!'" I took a bite of my food while he continued. I took the aspirin.
"Thank you, Alex. You're very kind, Alex. I appreciate you, Alex." I muttered. I looked up from my food. He raised an eyebrow at me. He finished eating his food and got up. He looked at the time and cursed.
He ran into his room and came back mostly dressed. His shirt was halfway on and one of his shoes weren't tied. He pulled the shirt down and grabbed a jacket. He grabbed his keys and a jacket.
"Hey, Cass. I gotta take off." He said. I nodded. "We can continue the rest of this awkward one-sided conversation later," he ran out the door. I heard a thump and a ring of curses from Alex. I laughed as I heard him run down the hall cursing like a sailor.
