DURHAM, WASHINGTON

In Durham, Washington, on a biker bar called Panheads. We follow a mystery person into the bar, outside the door, and as they enter the bar, bikers look at the person approvingly.

They mystery person enters to a bar full of bikers, both men and women. We now see brief glimpses that the person is what appears to be a beautiful woman - a bracelet, red painted lips. She starts walking through the bar, looking the patrons up and down.

The mystery woman continues perusing the bar until she settles on a young man who blatantly returns her interest. Scene cuts to outside the building, the woman slamming the man up against the wall and ripping open his shirt.

"Damn. Girl after my own heart." He Says

"That's the idea, sweetie." She Says

"What the hell?" He Says

The mystery woman grows claws and slashes the biker's throat. He falls to the ground where she attacks him snarling.

LAKE

Scene opens beside a lake. A boat cruises past on the open water. Sam and Dean with sunglasses on are kicking back and drinking beers at the waterside. Sam has his right arm in a sling.

"Hey, something I needed to ask you." Dean Says

"Shoot." Sam Says

"You've been... Kicked, bit, scratched, stabbed, possessed, killed... And you sprain your friggin' elbow?" Dean Says

"Dude, it was more than a sprain. All right? And it was a friggin' demon, but..." Sam Says

"What? That sling come with a slice of... crybaby pie on the side?" Sam smiles despite himself "Please." Sam Says

They laugh and sit companionably for a moment, then Sam turns to study his brother then looks over at Elena who's drinking some coffee and reading a newspaper by the lake.

"So..." Sam Says

"What?" Sam looks over at Elena, He follows his gaze "What Lena?" Dean Says

"Yes..have you spoken to her." Sam Says

"Yeah I've spoken to her." Dean Says

"You know what I mean Dean.., you both know how you feel about each other so why not—" Sam Says

"Sam...I don't think me being with Lena isn't the best right now. I just got back..and Elena and I will figure something out like we always do but in the mean time I think it's best if we you know stay where we are." Dean Says

"Did you tell her that?.." Sam Asks

"....No, I will." Dean Says

"How you doing?" Sam Asks

"Golden, man." Dean Says

"Come on." Sam gives him his puppy dog look, Dean deflects

"Seriously, I'm good. I am. You know, we got... Three more cases of this stuff on ice in the trunk. Taking some 'we time.'... best decision we ever made." Dean Says As They toast

"Hear that." Sam Says

The boys take a swig of their beers and sit back. A moment passes, Elena walks over to them with a newspaper in hand.

"Hey guys did you see that thing in the paper this morning?" Elena Asks

Sam huffs out a breath "Maybe it was an animal kill."

"It was three kills, and it was in the same town, all within the last month." Elena Says

"Yeah, you're right. We should call some guys, have 'em fix it." Sam Says

"Good. Smart.." Dean Says

"Done." Sam Says

"Or... We could be in and out. It's a milk run." Dean Says

"Right, because that happens... never." Elena Says

Dean takes off his sunglasses and rubs his face.

"Look, Sam, Elena what we're doing here, it's good, okay? You and me hanging out. But I need to work... I need this." Dean Says

Sam takes his glasses off and looks at Dean in concern.

"If things go sideways... I mean, like, an inch, you gotta give us the heads-up." Sam Says

"Done. You got my word." Dean Says

Dean is almost standing before he finishes. He hurriedly grabs his chair, eagerly moving off toward the Impala and leaving Sam still sitting, sighing heavily and frowning in disbelief.

KING COUNTY SHERIFF STATION

Sam, Elena and Dean are dressed as Game Wardens. Dean hands over his fake ID to the Sheriff, while Sam and Elena simply flashes theirs , The Sheriff looks at them in relief.

"Lady, Gentlemen. Well, I'm not gonna lie. We're damn glad to see you." He hands back Dean's ID.
"You guys must come up on stuff like this all the time." He Says

"Oh, yeah." Dean Says

"Oh, yeah." Elena & Sam Says

"Yeah, definitely." Dean Says

"Hell, seen raccoons in rec rooms and bears in swimming pools. But this? You tell me." He Says

"Yeah." Dean Says

The Sheriff pauses, looking at Elena and the brothers in expectation of a good story. Dean realizes and immediately starts spinning one.

"Oh. Well, uh... Where do we start? What with, uh...Logging." Dean Says

"Ice caps." Elena Says

"Bitcoin." Sam Says

"Yeah." The Sheriff looks on in scepticism. Dean starts to get flustered. "Obama."

Sam watches the exchange in disbelief then jumps in to save his brother before he makes more of a fool of himself.

"You know what? Maybe -- maybe, uh, you could walk us through the attacks. Any similarities, anything weird." Sam Says

"Only thing weird about them was how similar they were. Folks torn clean through. Hearts... absent." He Says

"Hearts absent as in—" Elena Says

"Consumed, most likely." He Says

"And there were no witnesses?" Dean Asks

"Well, the town square attack, the parking lot... Those were real late. But the bar? Hell, with how jammed the place was, you'd think somebody other than Tommy would've seen something." He Says

"And what did he see?" Dean Asks

"Honestly, not much. Now Tommy ain't exactly what we call a reliable witness. And he's telling anybody who'll listen he saw some girl go out back with Barker, and she got torn up, too." He Says

"So there was a second victim?" Elena Says

"Well, sure... Except Tommy's a drunk. There's no body, no D.N.A., no blood trail, no nothing to suggest that." A Deputy approaches, handing the Sheriff some paperwork. "Give me one sec." He Says

"Yeah." Sam Says

Both Deputies walk away, The three hunters quietly discuss the information they were given.

"Hearts missing. Sounds wolfy to me, right?" Dean Says

"Yeah. Pretty brazen, even for a werewolf." Sam Says

"You guys think it was the girl?" Elena Asks

Sam shrugs and turns to his brother "Let's find out."

BAR

Sam, Elena and Dean are seated at a table with the biker Tommy that the Sheriff told them about. A large mug of beer sits on the table in front of him.

"Yeah, Barker and I have been raising hell, chasing tail, and riding for a long time. Part of him always knew when his clock ran out, it wasn't gonna be pretty. To go out like that? By some animal? Just ain't right." Tommy Says As He shakes his head in disbelief

"You mind, uh, you mind telling us what went down?" Elena Asks

"It was just another party, you know? Barker went out back. The next thing you know, everyone's yelling and screaming, and he's all torn up." Tommy Says

"Now the sheriff mentioned you thought there might've been a girl involved. You think she was killed, too?" Sam Says

"Nope" Tommy shaking his head he reaches for his beer, taking a large swig

"So there was no girl?" Dean Says

"Couldn't say." Tommy shakes his head again and looks at Dean nervously out of the corner of his eye

"You know we're not cops, right?" Elena Says

"Badge is a badge." Tommy Says

"Well, you should also know that working outdoors the way we do, we see some – some pretty weird crap. Stuff that we can't explain. I mean, hell, half the stuff, we wouldn't have believed it ourselves had we not seen it together." Dean Says

"Well, you don't have to live in this town, mister. You don't have to deal with the ridicule." Tommy Says

"I'm just saying that crazy might not be half as crazy as you think." Sam Says

"So if someone were to tell you they saw a ghost, you'd...believe that?" Tommy Asks

Dean looks over at Sam & Elena and back again at Tommy. "Just assume we believe everything."

"Okay, then. The other night, I was taking a ride past the old Sturges farm. You know, thinking about the rides me and Barker used to go on. I saw her, man." Tommy Says

"Saw her, who?" Sam Asks

"The girl." Tommy Says

"What, after the attack?" Elena Says

"Hell, yeah. She was just standing there, all bloody, watching me. So -- so I turn the hell around, I-I ran back, thinking, damn, you know, she -- But...She was just gone. Like, gone." Tommy Says

"Like a ghost." Sam Says

"No, I don't give one red cent in hell what the cops say. She was there. She was eaten. She's a freakin' ghost." Tommy Says

He takes another large swig of his beer and Dean turns to Sam and Elena raising his eyebrows.

OLD FARM

Scene opens at night on an old farm. The boys and Elena pull up in the Impala. They get out and look around, leaving Baby's lights on they all have pistols.

"Ghosts don't shred people like that." Sam Says

Dean is fiddling with his .45, ejecting the magazine and checking it "Yeah, well... This flea bag, looks like she ain't done chowing down on Sons of Anarchy just yet."

"Guess she likes the bad boys." Elena Says As Dean grins

"Well, wait'll she gets a load of us." Dean Says

The three of them turn on their flashlights and guns in hand, walk towards a seemingly deserted barn. Dean gestures with his gun for Sam and Elena to circle around the back while he takes the front. Sam and Elena sets off towards the back.

Meanwhile Dean continues forward, coming across several dead chickens scattered on the ground. When he reaches the door, there are several deep scratches across its surface. He enters quickly and cautiously, gun aimed and ready and scans the interior, doing a quick but efficient search with his flashlight.

He clicks off the light when he hears a low voice, aiming his gun at her. We see a mystery woman from behind. She is wearing the same bracelet as the woman in the opening scene and she is on the phone.

"Stop ignoring my calls. Pick up the phone and call me right now. This isn't how it's supposed to go. Look, I've been down this road before and I'm not going to..." She Says

She stops abruptly and sniffs the air, then suddenly bolts away from Dean. He runs after her and she runs straight into Sam who catches her. Elena and Sam points their guns at the mystery woman but hesitates, recognising her.

"What?" Dean Says

Sam grabs the woman's sleave, spinning her towards Dean.

"Kate?" Dean Says

Kate looks terrified while the Elena and the boys look not so shocked, but definitely disappointed.
Sam and Dean have tied Kate hands with heave rope and secured them to the rafters.

"I know who you are." Kate Says

"Congratulations." Dean Says

"After what happened at school, I thought you'd let me go." Kate Says

"Yeah, well, that was before you started dropping bodies." Sam Says

"What?" Kate Says

lGuy at the bar saw you before you went all Wolverine on his buddy. So...Surprise. Here we are." Dean Says

"Kate, you said you were gonna go straight. What happened?" Elena Asks

"I guess things change. Being this... I tried to be strong, but the hunger was too much. Too hard. It's not like anyone gave me a handbook on how to be a werewolf." Kate Says

"Looks like you're doing a pretty good job so far. Break some hearts, then you eat 'em." Dean Says

"I was on my own. I...evolved." Kate Says

"So that's what you call killing innocent people?" Sam Says

"Whatever you're gonna do, just...do it." Kate Says

The three of them look at each other, then Dean pulls back the hammer on his .45 and points it at Kate. He hesitates briefly and Sam puts a hand on Dean's arm, stopping him. Dean uncocks the weapon as Sam indicates that they need to talk.

"Hey. You know what? Let me do it." Sam Says

"Why?" Dean Asks

While they talk, Kate uses one claw to work at the rope she's tied up with.

"Because... I think you should sit this one out." Sam Says

"What are you talking about?" Dean Says

"You're not ready, Dean." Sam Says

Elena's phone rings, it's the Sheriff. Dean and Sam turns to look at Kate who stops moving briefly.

"Hello?" Elena Says

"Warden, we had another animal attack over at the high school gymnasium. Guy was a security guard." He Says

"Your joking." Elena Says

"Same M.O. as the other three." He Says

"When?" Elena Asks

"Deputy said the victim's blood was still warm when he got there, so had to be less than an hour ago." He Says

"Of course. Thank you. Um, I'll be in touch." She hangs up the phone and looks at Sam & Dean "We got a problem." Elena Says

"What, besides, uh, werewolf Barbie over here?" Dean Says

"Yeah." Sam Says

In the background, Kate is still working away at the rope. She's nearly sawed right through it.

"So There was another kill, across town, just before dark." Elena Says

"Well, how did Kate get her murder on and then get back here b—" Dean Says As Elena scrunches up her face and raises her eyebrows

"You don't think she did it." Sam Says

"Look... I don't know. But as far as I'm concerned-" Elena Say

Suddenly the rope snaps and Kate breaks free, bolting out the door.

"Damn it!" Dean Says

Elena and The brothers head out toward the Impala.

"All right, if she's not icing people, then why play the big bad wolf?" Dean Says

"Maybe she's running with a pack? You know, trying to protect them?" Sam Says

"Well, a hell of a price to pay. She was about two seconds away from taking a dirt nap." Dean Says

Dean pulls a pink phone out of his pocket and starts fiddling with it.

"What is that?" Elena Asks

"It's her phone. Let's see who she was booty calling when we pulled up." Dean Says As He pressed redial

"Thank you for calling the Lincoln Motel. Can I help you?"

Dean hangs up and the all get the Impala and drive off. Sam and Dean are in the Impala, talking.

"So what's this about me not being ready back there?" Dean Asks

"I'm -- I wasn't... trying to start something, Dean. I was just saying, I thought that was the whole point of us taking a break. You know?" Sam Says

"Oh, no. No, yeah. I get that. And, you know, there's no worries there." Dean Says

"Okay." Sam Says

"But I gotta ask. What about you?" Dean Says

"What about me, what?" Sam Says

"Are you ready?" Dean Asks

"Why wouldn't I be ready?" Sam Says

"Lester." Dean Says

"Lester?" Sam Says

FLASHBACK

The scene takes us back to when Sam was searching for Dean after he became a Demon and disappeared. Sam is sitting at a bar with a pathetic looking man, listening to him complain about his wife.

"My wife kicked me to the curb. We haven't had sex for four months, but not that she hasn't been having plenty." Lester Says

"It is possible that you can have your revenge." Sam Says

Scene flashes to a crossroad where a Demon has been summoned. Lester is in the centre of the road and Sam is hiding just out of sight behind a tree.

"Who summons me, and for what purpose?" Dar Says

Sam hurrying out from behind the tree "Lester! Don't!"

"Kill my wife, and my soul is yours." Lester Says

Scene then flashes to where Lester is sitting in a car with Demon!Dean and Katherine.

"Who are you?" Lester Asks

Dean's eyes flash black and he punches Lester once in the face coldly and viciously. Blood drips from his mouth.

"Uhh! Ow! You're a punk-ass demon! And you work for me now." Lester Says

Dean looks at Lester impassively and stabs him in the chest with the First Blade.

END FLASHBACK

"You're serious? This is about Lester?" Sam Says

"Um, don't get me wrong. I'm not -- I'm not -- I'm not trying to start anything either, okay? I'm just saying, maybe... maybe we oughta talk about that." Dean Says

"Okay, except there's nothing to talk about." Sam Says

"Okay." Dean Says

"Okay." Sam Says

There is an uncomfortable silence for a moment, Elena tries to talk but Dean speaks up again.

"I just figured, since we're opening up veins that maybe you'd want to talk about the guy who you made sell his soul." Dean Says

"The guy who you then killed, right? I mean, that's the same guy we're talking about?" Sam Says

"I was a demon." Dean Says

"Oh, you were a demon? Oh, I didn't realize that." Sam Says

"Hey, man, Lester was gonna pay for that soul shake sooner or later. So technically, it's still on you." Dean Says

"What do you want from me, Dean? Look, I w-- I'm not happy about it, okay? But I needed to find you. So if I had to... bend a few rules..." Sam Says

"Go dark." Dean Says

"Go dark. Sure. Label it if you want." Sam Says

"Look, man, again, I'm not complaining, okay? In fact, I'm doing just the opposite of complaining. I... I just... You know, between Lester and the others..." Dean Says

"There weren't others." Sam Says

"Okay, either way, maybe we both needed that time off." Dean Says

Dean looks at Sam and he rolls his eyes, Elena taps her fingers on the seat settling in the awkwardness.

"This is good...This is good." Elena Says

"Yeah. Okay." Sam Says As They drive off into the night
