HEAVEN

In Heaven, Castiel crouches by the body of an angel who doesn't respond.

"Zuriel." Castiel Says

The other angel coughs and sits up, and Cas rushes to her side.

"Dumah." Castiel Says

"Castiel." Dumah Says

"What happened?" Castiel Asks

"I don't know. We were just-sorry. That stuff--when it touched me, everything just went black. I thought you were supposed to be on Earth." Dumah Says

"I'm looking for someone. Jack. I have to find him." Castiel Says, then begins to walk away.

"Don't leave me." Dumah Says

"Can you walk?" Castiel Asks

"Yeah." Dumah Says, as Castiel helps her off the ground.

Soon together they explore Jack's heaven. Dumah feels the hood of the Impala, but Jack's heaven is abandoned.

"It's cold." Dumah Says

"He's not here. Hello, Castiel, Dumah. Jack's gone." Naomi Says

"How is that possible?" Castiel Asks

"Perhaps the angel side of him knew he was in Heaven. In any case, he left." Naomi Says

"Naomi, what is happening here?" Dumah Asks

"We're under attack. It stormed the gates. It defeated our defenses. There are so few of us left, we couldn't even stop it." Naomi Says

"It? What-- What do you mean by "it"?" Castiel Says

"The shadow, the thing that rules the Empty. I'm surprised you didn't recognize its handiwork, Castiel. I thought you were old friends." Naomi Says

Flashback to 13.04, Castiel in the Empty, as the Entity creates a humanoid form out of black goo.

"What is this place?"

"Nothing but Empty. Angels and demons, you all come here when you die."

JACK'S HEAVEN

"How did you know?" Castiel Asks

"You're the only one of us who ever escaped." Naomi Says

"What does it want?" Castiel Asks

"The boy. The Empty considers Jack its property. And who knows? Maybe it's right, He is half-angel." Naomi Says

"So, what do we do?" Dumah Asks

"Give it what it wants." Naomi Says

"You're joking." Castiel Says

"Tell me-what choice do we have? If we don't meet its demands, Heaven will fall. 46,750,000,000 human souls will be cast in the wind. What's one nephilim boy against all that? You know I'm right, Castiel. This is what we have to do. Help me." Naomi Says

"No." Castiel Says

"Castiel-" Naomi Says

Naomi stops Cas from walking away, and chokes as black goo envelops her.

"Naomi?" Castiel Says

"Castiel, run!" Naomi Says

THE BUNKER

In the library, Sam lights candles around the sigil painted on the floor while reciting the summoning spell. Lily cuts her hand and drips blood onto the sigil.

"Ya 'anubays, yda 'uwzuris, astamae 'iilaa suti.
Ya 'Anubis, 'ant min yazan alqulbu. Astamae 'iilaa suti. Ya 'Anubis, dalil almawtaa. Aleawalim bayn alealamin maftuhatan, wa'amrak 'an tuqadim nafsak fi eini, Give it a second." Sam Says

Soon Anubis appears in the summoning circle before them.

"Mm. The brothers Winchester. I must say, your files have come across my desk many times." Anubis Says

"We never met? I mean, we've died." Sam Says

"Yeah. A lot..." Dean Says

"I'm more of a "back of the house" kind of guy. Death and her subordinates get all the face time. I get stuck with the paperwork." Anubis Says

"Pushin' pencils, damning souls. Tough work." Dean Says, as Anubis laughs.

"Just as snappy as advertised. What do you want?" Anubis Asks

"It's me. I need to know where I'm going when I die." Lily Says

"Hmm. That's unorthodox. Against protocol. But I suppose we're already here." Anubis Says, then pulls an abacus out of his satchel.

"An abacus..really?" Corinna Says

"You were expecting a scale and a feather?, " He holds out a hand for Lily "May I?" Anubis Says

He holds Lily's hand over the abacus and the beads shift up and down. When they stop, most of the beads are black, at the bottom of the abacus, implying she's damned to hell.

"I'm sorry." Anubis Says

"No." Lily Says

"Change it." Sam Says

"I can't." Anubis Says

"Well, looks like you're not goin' anywhere." Dean Says

"Yeah. The lore was pretty clear, Anubis can be bound in a ring of foinikélaio." Elena Says

"Aka palm oil. Just so happens we had some laying around." Dean Says

"This is a miscalculation." Anubis Says

"Fine. Then change it. Let her into Heaven." Sam Says

"I'm an accountant. I don't have that kind of power." Anubis Says

"Yeah, right. Like you or God has never made an exception?" Sam Says

"That's right. Because God doesn't decide." Anubis Says, as Corinna scoffs.

"Of course he doesn't." Corinna Mumbles

"I don't even decide. You do, each of you, your individual choices all tallied up at the precise moment of your death. Keep me here. Try and kill me. It is not going to change Lily Sunder's fate. But it might change yours." Sam breaks the circle holding him, with his boot, "Smart boy." Anubis Says, he then vanishes, and Lily is distraught.

KELLY'S HEAVEN

Castiel leads Dumah to Kelly's heaven, they walk through the bushes and sees the house.

"You're sure?" Dumah Says

"I know him. He's here." Castiel Says

Inside Kelly's house, Jack looks out the window, wary of having been found by the black goo.

"See anything?" Kelly Asks

"Whatever comes through that door, I'll distract it so you can run." Jack Says

"I'm not going anywhere." Kelly Says

"Jack?" Castiel Says

"Cas?" Jack Says

Jack opens the door and Cas pulls him into a hug, Kelly approaches him.

"Hello, Castiel." Kelly Says

"Kelly." They both embrace too, "I'm so sorry. I failed you." Castiel Says

"You didn't. You didn't. Jack-he's wonderful." Kelly Says

"Yeah." Castiel Says

"We've been getting to know each other. What are you doing here?" Jack Asks

"Sam, Dean, Elena, Corinna and I..we found a way to bring you home." Castiel Says

"So, I'll be alive again?" Jack Says

"Yeah. But to do so, we-we need to use magic that will draw on your soul." Castiel Says

"W-What do you mean, my soul?" Jack Asks

"It'll be just a small piece. And I know it's too much to ask, but it's the only way." Castiel Says

"No. I-I don't know." Kelly Says

"It's not just Jack's life that's at stake. It-The Empty has invaded Heaven because it wants you." Castiel Says

"Why him?" Kelly Asks

"Because Jack is half-angel, and we angels-when we die, we go to another place. It's a place that's just endless nothing. And this entity-it won't stop until it finds you, but if you're not here, if you're alive..." Castiel Says

"Then it'll leave Heaven." Jack Says

"Smart." Dumah Says

"Dumah." Castiel Says

"Try again." She Says

Castiel looks at her questioningly, Dumah enters the room and black goo surrounds her.

THE BUNKER

In the bunker library, Lily packs up her things to leave while Sam, Corinna and Elena packs up from the ritual.

"Well..that was crap." Corinna Says

"I know, I mean there has to still be a way." Elena Says

"Lily, I-I know you're upset, but you can still do the spell." Sam Says

"That wasn't the deal. I've got to go." Lily Says

"We have nothing to offer you, noth-nothing to say, but... He's our kid!" Sam Says

"I'm sorry." Lily Says

"You know what I think? Burning all that soul? You're not even human anymore, not really." Dean Says

"Dean-" Sam Says

"Otherwise, how could you ever, ever let anyone go through what you went through? The pain of losing a kid? Don't do this to us." Dean Says

KELLY'S HEAVEN

"You're the Empty." Castiel Says, as he pushes Jack and Kelly back.

"Pretty good, huh?" It looks over to Jack, "You ready to go?" The Empty Says

"You stay away from him." Castiel Says

"Castiel, you know how this goes-the good souls here, the bad souls there. The angels are mine." The Empty Says

"Enough." Castiel Says

"Stop interrupting! Start paying attention. I'm taking him. And where I'm taking you is worse than Hell... because at least Hell is something. Ohh. Ohh, God, they look scared. Does that hurt you? Good..because I want it to." The Empty Says

Castiel deploys his angel blade to attack, but the Entity flings him across the room.

In the library, Jack is laid out on a table draped with a sheet painted with sigils, surrounded by candles. Lily takes a last look at the picture of her daughter in a locket, kisses it, and then tucks it away.

"I'm ready." Lily Says

Back In Kelly's heaven, the Entity continues to attack Castiel.

"No! Stop!" Kelly Says

The Empty turns its attention to attacking Kelly, she falls to the ground and the empty looks at Jack, Back in the library, Dean prays to Cas.

"Cas, I hope you can hear me. We've got Jack. His shell-it's ready to go. Here's hoping that you're staring at him right now. So, if you are, then, uh,
do your thing, okay? Amen." Dean Says

"Oh-doh oh oh-zah-zuhm-ah, oh-ee, ah-oh-ee-vee..." Lily Says

Jack charges at the Empty, but it grabs him and chokes him. Buying time, Cas stands up, not to attack.

"Take me." Castiel Says

"A little louder, please." The Empty Says

"Take me in his stead. Take me." Castiel Says

"You?" The Empty Says

"I'm the one you want. I'm the one who woke you up." The Entity considers this, then releases Jack.
"You? But you're already mine."

"Not for years...eons maybe. But if you'll agree, I will go now, and I will go willingly." Castiel Says

"Deal." Cas closes his eyes, waiting to be taken, but it laughs "Oh, but not now. No, no, no, no, no. No, you see, I-I meant what I said. I-I want you to suffer. I want you to go back to-to your normal life and-and then forget about this and forget about me. And-and then, when you finally give yourself permission to be happy and let the sun shine on your face, that's when I'll come. That's when I'll come to drag you to nothing." The Empty Says

"I accept." Castiel Says

Dumah vessel falls to the ground and the Entity flees Kelly's heaven, and she wakes up.

"Where am I?" Dumah Asks

"Easy. It's all right." Castiel Says, as he helps her up.

"Why? Why did you do that?" Jack Asks

"Because I made a promise. Because I love you, Jack. And Sam, Elena, Dean and Corinna they love you. And they are fighting for you at this very minute." Castiel Says

Lily begins the ritual while Sam, Dean, Elena and Corinna stand and watch.

"Oh oh. Oh-doh..." Lily Says

"I hope that...they don't need to know what happened here. What I did-I'm-I'm-I'm at peace with my choice. I don't want them to worry." Castiel Says

"I won't tell them. I promise." Jack Says

"Then we should go." Castiel Says

Jack nods then looks over at his mother, she smiles at him as he gets teary eyed.

"We didn't get enough time." Jack Says

"Shh. It's okay. Go. Have a great life. I'll be waiting. I love you so much." Kelly Says

"You ready?" Castiel Asks

Cas puts his hands on Jack's face, and he glows as his body wakes up on the library table in the bunker.
They all rush to check on Jack, who's sitting up coughing.

"Jack." Elena Says

"Hey. Hey, hey, hey." Sam Says

"Read this. Jack, read this." Dean Says

"Oh, koh-nuh-ga-ma-fuh-luh-guh, ah-oh-ee-vee-ah-ee... ee-duh-luh-vah...oh-ee-vee-ah-ee, ee-duh-luh-vah-juh-ah-um kah-dah." Jack Says

Lily wanders away as Jack's eyes glow when he finishes the incantation.

"Was that my soul?" Jack Asks

"Yeah, how do you feel?" Dean Asks

"Good. I feel...good." Jack Says

Dean pulls him into a hug, then Corinna and Elena hugs him tightly as well.

"It's good to have you back." Elena Says

"We missed you." Corinna Says

"Missed you guys too." Jack Says, as Dean looks over toward Lily.

"Lily, thank you." Dean Says

"Yeah. Lily-" Sam Says, as Lily is slumped in a chair, dead.

"Lily?" Dean Says

"She's gone." Corinna Says

Lily wanders through a file-filled office with a loud clockwork noise, and finds Anubis sitting in front of a giant clock face.

"I don't understand. Why am I here?" Lily Asks

"Hm. Care to try your luck again?" Anubis Says

He brings out his abacus again, and measures Lily's soul. Most of the beads are now white, and rise to the top.

"I'm curious. Did you know what doing the spell would cost you? Say hello to your daughter for me." Anubis Says

HEAVEN

Castiel leaves Kelly's heaven and meets Naomi in the hallway outside.

"Hello, Castiel. Relax. I'm here to thank you. What you did-I know it wasn't for our benefit...but you saved us." Naomi Says

"You're welcome." Castiel Says

"I think that deserves a reward, don't you? Like, for example, the archangel Michael's location." Naomi Says

"You know where he is?" Castiel Asks

"We have an idea. And word is, you've been looking for him." Naomi Says

THE BUNKER

In the bunker kitchen, Jack eats a burger while Cas, Elena, Corinna, Sam, and Dean watch, smiling. They all have burgers and beer

"Is, uh, something wrong?" Jack Asks

"No. No, not at all." Sam Says

"Just damn glad to have you back." Dean Says

"Yeah." Elena and Corinna Says

"And we know where Michael is. Not quite sure how you pulled that one off." Dean Says

"Well, we, uh-we still don't know where Dark Kaia is or the spear." Elena Says

"Yeah, but we will. We'll figure it out. We'll find her. I mean, we found her before." Sam Says

"That's right. And then Michael-and that son of a bitch is gonna pay." Dean Says

"Well..I for one like the sound of that." Corinna Says

"Mhm." Elena Says

"Damn right." He holds out his beer bottle in a toast, "Come on." Dean Says, then they all clink their beer bottles together.
