MCCOOK, NEBRASKA

Music plays in a small town with people going about daily business. A girl walks across the street and says "Good morning" to a man sitting on the bench. She walks to a library and unlocks door and goes in, She starts putting away books from a cart. A hand can be seen tapping her on the shoulder.

"Oh" Harper Says, as she gasps.

"Whoa Whoa. Harper, it's me." Winston Says

"Winston, God..." Harper Says

"Sorry, I just ah ah just wanted to make sure we are still on for, you know, dinner tonight?" Winston Asks

"Uhm, yeah, sure." Harper Says

Man comes around corner holding a stapler as a weapon.

"Harper!! Are you okay? I heard a scream. Is this guy causing trouble?" Miles Asks

"This guy? Miles, we went to high school together." Winston Says

"Miles, we talked about you minding your own business. Didn't we?" Nodding her head, "Put the stapler down." Harper Says, as Miles folds up stapler.

"I heard a scream." Miles Says

There's an awkward moment as the three look at each other and then Miles leaves.

"He's always been creepy." Winston Says

"He's just overreacting because nothing ever happens here. Nobody comes to the library
anymore. Not even for story time. Isn't that sad?" Harper Says

"Well, I'm here." Winston Says, as Harper smiles.

"I'll see you tonight." Harper Says

"For our date." Winston Says

"For dinner. Which I'm sure will be a very nice time." Harper Says

Winston leaves and walks out of library and pumps his fist and grins. He strolls down the street to the music of the "Bee Gee's", all of a sudden a hand grabs him by the face and you see blood and hear
a scream.

THE BUNKER

Jack is sitting in kitchen at bunker drinking a cup of coffee. He is pouring lots of sugar in as Dean walks in.

"Geez, what's up with the sugar?" Dean Says

"Well, without my powers everything tastes different so, I can't get this how I like it." Jack Says

"Seen Sam?" Dean Asks

"He Went to meet up with Charlie. You and Elena were on an overnight run to Mary and Bobby's place to drop off Wren, He said it couldn't wait. They're probably doing something really exciting." Jack Says

MEMPHIS, TENNESSEE

TRUCK

Scene moves to Sam and Charlie sitting in a truck in silence looking bored. Sam sighs, and speaks up.

"So this is where all the people are missing?" Sam Asks

"Yep." Charlie Says

"Right.." Sam Says, then they go back to sitting in silence.

THE BUNKER

"So he just left you here, Huh?" Dean Says, as he pours himself a cup of coffee.

"Yep, Sam wanted someone around when you came back. He's worried about you." Jack Says

"Yeah, that sounds like him." Dean Says

"Dean, what happened with Michael, no one blames you." Jack Says

"Cool, well I blame me, so..." Jack starts coughing, he looks at him. "Still with that cough, huh?" Dean Says

"Maybe I'm allergic to sitting around doing nothing."
Jack Says, as Dean looks at his watch.

"Alright, What do you want to do?" Dean Asks

"Hunt. Sam says I can't go alone but Cas and I, we've been working cases." Jack Says

"And he said you've been doing good on those. No offense, but Cas is an insurance policy on those hunts. Sam's just trying to keep you safe, kay?
He's a smart guy." Dean Says

Back to Sam and Charlie. Sam is enjoying playing with a fidget spinner while Charlie watches.
Back to Dean and Jack, He shows Dean a news
story on a tablet.

"Look, Winston Mathers, dead, with what appears
to be human bite marks taken out of the corpse." Jack Says

"Human bite marks?" Dean Says

"And, other people have gone missing too." Jack Says

"Sam's not gonna like it." Dean Says, getting sandwich fixings out of fridge.

"Sam's not here." Jack Says

"Okay, you know what? You did good work. Okay? Elena and I'll go check it out." Dean Says

"No. we're supposed to have a partner for all hunts now, right? We can be hunting buddies." Jack Says

"Okay. A- Don't call it that. And B - you're gonna back me up?" Dean Says

"Dean, I need to do something. You don't understand. I could have killed Michael. Here,
when I was strong enough, I could have. But there was so much going on and then everything else happened because I was distracted and stupid and-" Jack Says

"Hey! You didn't do anything wrong." Dean Says

"And neither did you, but that doesn't make it any easier does it? So I can't just sit here in the bunker thinking about it all day. What I could have done differently, how I can't do anything about it now. But I can do this. I can hunt. Give me a chance." Jack Says

TRUCK

Back to Sam and Charlie he's on the phone, as Charlie looks over at the bus stop where two elderly people are sitting down.

"Are you sure? Just you three? I mean we could probably send some other hunters out there, it's so close. yeah. Be careful." He hangs up, and sighs "Dean and Elena is going out on a hunt with Jack." Sam Says

"Good for them." Charlie Says

"You sure this is the right place?" Sam Asks

"Well, its where those 4 people disappeared. And when I was scouting around I found this." Charlie Says, then hold up a jar filled with black liquid.

"Goo?" Sam Says

"Goo. So, yeah. I'd say this is the right place. Now, I'm just trying to figure out what we are dealing with. Thus, books." Charlie Says

THE BUNKER

Inside the bathroom Elena is seen taking a bath, she has her headphones in her ear listening to music. The door opens and Dean enters, he sees her and looks down at her phone and stops her music.

"Wha-hey what are you doing, I was listening to that." Elena Says

"Sorry Lena but I need to talk to you about something." Dean Says

"What's wrong?" Elena Asks

"It's Jack..he wants to hunt." Dean Says

"Oh okay, I'd let him hunt." Elena Says

"Seriously do you think he's ready for that?" Dean Asks

"Dean I watched that kid fight in a war for a whole year. Jack is good once you guys see it, give him a chance okay..he'll be fine plus he has you." Elena Says

"And you." Dean Says

"What?" Elena Says

"Yeah if I have to go and babysit him on a hunt, so are you." Dean Says

"Uh No you see your mother is watching Wren so she could spend time with her granddaughter, which I have no problem with..but this right here is my day off." Elena Says

"Well Lena on your day off you'll be hunting," He smirks, "Ain't that fun huh." Dean Says

"No." Elena Says, Dean smirks and kisses her.

"Be ready in 15 minutes," He walks towards the door and looks back, "Love you." Dean Says, then leaves.

Elena sighs and close her eyes and goes under the bath water.

MCOOK, NEBRASKA

DINER

The Impala pulls up to a diner, and Dean, Elena and Jack enter, both wearing suits.

"So this is that Winston guy's favorite spot?" Elena Asks

"His obituary said he loved having breakfast here every morning, which is sort of oddly specific." Jack Says

"Yeah, when a young guy dies they never know what to put in those things." Dean Says

The three of them walks towards the counter where a waitress is busy working.

"Hi there." Dean Says

"Can I help you?" She Asks

"Yeah, Agent Barry, FBI. These are my partners, Agent Charles and Shirley. We're wondering if you could give us some details on a regular of yours, Winston Mathers." Dean Says

"Sure hon. Um, Detail #1 Winston's dead. Detail #2 ha that's all the details." She Says

Jack begins writing in notebook, Elena and Dean looks at him.

"Winston, dead. No details." Jack Says, as Dean stops him.

"Ah, you know, you're gonna want to be a little more helpful than that." Dean Says

"Listen, deep state, flashing a badge might work on people who don't have a working knowledge of the constitution, but that ain't me." The bell rings, "Now, I gotta go earn some money." She Says

"Or you can stay here and earn some money." She reaches into wallet and hands her some money, "Interested?" Elena Says, the waitress takes the money.

"He, uh, came in here every day like clockwork but you really want to ask about Harper Sayles. Winston just started courting her." She Says

"What's courting?" Jack Asks

"Hey, it's what you do before you start dating." Dean Says

"And that's the thing you do before the sex." Jack Says, as Elena, Dean and waitress look at him oddly.

"Sometimes you just have the sex." She Says, then grins.

"Okay, that's...who is Harper Sayles?" Elena Asks

Series of flashes of interviews, of two women, the waitress and a construction guy talking about Harper.

"Harper is a really sweet woman."

"Everybody in town knows her."

"It's been a sad life."

"Prom queen in high school."

"Very popular."

"Boyfriend ran off on her."

"She did not take it well."

"Since then, well, Everything just seems to go wrong."

"She's lost people, not people, men."

"Men."

"A lawyer."

"Florist."

"Gym coach."

"Now, Winston? It just honestly seems like all she cares about are her books."

"Romance novels, mostly."

"Heroes and damsels."

"Ask me. She is bad luck."

"Real shame."

Dean, Elena and Jack sitting in booth looking awed about the interviews.

TRUCK

Back to Sam and Charlie, still sitting in truck, still being bored. Sam chewing on his nails, Charlie looking through a book.

"He'll be fine. Your brother, I mean. He's got other friends, right?" Charlie Says

"Plenty. Uhm, he used to have a pretty damn good wingman." Sam Says

"So call that guy to check on him." Charlie Says

"That guy was you." Sam Says, as Charlie looks at him.

"No, it wasn't." Charlie Says

"Right, I, uh, sorry. I didn't mean that. I'm just saying I'm not surprised you survived the apocalypse." Sam Says

"Yeah, well I am. Sam, before all this? I was just a programmer at Richard Roman Enterprises. I lived with the love of my life and we..." Charlie Says

"Wait you did?" Sam Says

"Yeah. So your Charlie she..." Sam shakes his head no, "I guess she never met Kara." Charlie Says

"Kara?" Sam Says

"Uh, she owned a bakery outside of Chicago. Cupcakes. It was like something out of a story
book. She always smelled like peaches. And
her smile was just...Michael and Lucifer, when
they started their war, first thing a giant EMP or something like it went off in North America." Charlie Says

"Yeah?" Sam Says

"Yeah it Fried every bit of technology. Cell phones, power plants. For the first few days we banded together, thought hey someone will save us. No one ever did. When the food ran out people got mean. Mobs started forming, stealing whatever they could get their hands on. Lot of people died. Kara died. People are always the same when things go wrong. They lose it. One day the water gets shut off, the next day people are on fire. It's a fact about society. It all falls apart." Charlie Says

"Not here." Sam Says

"Not yet." Charlie Says

DINER

Back to Dean, Elena, and Jack in diner, Dean moves over to the other side of the table.

"Well congrats, Mighty Mouse, I think you found us a case." Dean Says

"Thanks. What's Mighty Mouse?" Jack Asks

"It's just a nickname that's all." Elena Says

The waitress places three slices of pie in front of them.

"Eat up. Pie is important." Dean Says

"Okay, can I ask you guys about what Wanda said about courting? I mean I've seen romantic movies but I've never experienced it unless what you said about Rowena and Gabriel counts." Jack Says, as Elena stops eating.

"Wait Gabriel and Rowena, oh no." Elena Says, looking at Dean.

"Oh yeah. And No, it definitely doesn't count. Okay, look I promise when we get back home I'll give you the talk. Okay?" Dean Says

"The talk?" Jack Says

"Yeah the talk. It's what parents usually discuss with their kids about sex." Elena Says

"Oh..did your parents have the talk with you?" Jack Asks, as Elena and Dean shared a look.

"Yeah." Elena Says

"Dad was just straight on and got right to the point, "Son there comes a time when you'll start having these feelings" Dean Says, as Elena laughs.

"Oh god John said that line." Elena Says

"Yeah, you never told me how did Bobby tell you?" Dean Asks

"Oh it's kind of embarrassing." Elena Says

"What happened?" Jack Asks

"Well when I was about 12 I would say, my dad had this study in our living room area. And I was looking for something, but when I opened one of his drawer's to his desk..I found an interesting magazine." Elena Says

"You didn't-" Dean Says

"Oh yes I've found my dad's porn stash." Elena Says, as Dean chuckles.

"Way to go Bobby." Dean Says

"What's porn?" Jack Asks

"Let's just say it's Dean's favorite type of genre." Elena Says

"Is not.." Elena gives him a look, "Okay it is..but I don't watch it as I used to." Dean Says, as Elena shakes her head.

"Anyways after I found his stash, he caught me and had the talk with me about sex and four years later I lost my virginity end of story." Elena Says

"Interesting, now about this porn-" Jack Says

"The answer is no Jack." Elena Says, as Jack nods.

"Okay." Jack Says

"Right now we what we gotta find is Harper Sayles. I mean, that's just too much bad luck for one person." Dean Says

"Maybe, maybe she's not human." Jack Says

"Well, that's what we're going to find out." Dean Says

"How?" Jack Says

"You ever read a romance novel?" Dean Asks

LIBRARY

Harper is busy stacking up some of the books. As Dean and Elena enters.

"Harper Sayles?" Dean Says

"Hi, uhm, how can I help you?" Harper Asks

"Hi, FBI" He and Elena shows their badges, "We have some questions about Winston Mathers." Dean Says

"Oh, I already spoke to the police." Harper Says

"Well, were not the police." Dean Says

"I don't-I don't want to talk about this anymore." Harper Says, she tries walking but they stop her.

"Well we're going to need you to talk about it." Elena Says

"Hello, sorry to interrupt. I'm looking for the best book on the area's history?" Jack Asks

"Excuse me sir, my partner and I were talking with her." Elena Says

"Really? Because it doesn't look like she wants to talk to either of you." Jack Says

"Listen, I'm a-" Dean Says

"FBI, yeah, I heard, but I haven't done anything wrong so you can't do anything to me and if she doesn't want to talk to you, you can't make her.
Not with out arresting her. But you're FBI so you probably knew that already." Jack Says

Elena and Dean shared a look, then he walked over to Jack.

"Okay, why don't you back off, kid." Dean Says

"No, you back off, old man." Jack Says, as Dean gets taken back at the insult.

"Ah...Old man?" Dean Says

"Yeah, that's right." Jack Says

Harper is smiling in the background, as Elena rises a brow at the situation.

"Okay, alright. let's go." Elena Says, pulling on Dean's arm.

"This isn't over." Dean Says, as he and Elena leaves the library.

"That was so chivalrous." Harper Says

"Yeah, what's their problem?" Jack Says

"They were just asking...you know what? It's fine. I'm fine. Thank you for stepping in. You didn't have to do that." Harper Says

"I'm Jack, by the way. Jack Smith." He Says, as Harper shakes his hand.

"Harper. I have the perfect book for you." Harper Says

"That would be great." Jack Says, as they stare into each other's eyes.

Meanwhile outside Dean and Elena is waiting in the Impala, he's looking in mirror.

"Old man, my ass." Elena smirked, he looks at her, "What?" Dean Says

"Oh Nothing." Elena Says

"Lena I don't look old right?" Dean Asks

"No honey, I think you look great for someone who's almost 40." Elena Says, smiling.

"Ah don't say that number." Dean Says

"What it's true, to me you'll always look handsome." Elena Says, she leans over and kisses him.

"Always." Dean Says, as Elena nods.

"Always I promise." Elena Says

Dean nods happily then they watch as Jack and Harper come out of library along with Miles following them.

"Harper? Are you leaving?" Miles Asks

Jack lends his hand out for miles to shake, but Miles doesn't shake it.

"Miles, this is Jack. He's visiting and I'm getting him my favorite book about town. It's just down in my apartment but I'll come back and lock up." Harper Says

"You're taking him to your apartment. You don't even know this guy." Miles Says

"Miles, stop it, Let's go." Harper Says

"Alright, where are we headed?" Dean Says, as he and Elena gets out of the Impala.

Meanwhile Miles is taking out the trash, going down the same alley that Winston was killed in. He hears a noise and stops to look.

Dean and Elena is following Jack and Harper and then a scream is heard. They goes to look and soon finds Miles dead in a pool of blood.
