CHURCH
Inside an abandoned church people are hanging from chains. One man is bound to a chair, bleeding slowly into a goblet.
Footsteps approach and Michael cuts a small slice in the man's throat, which bleeds grace into the goblet full of blood, He takes the goblet and nods approvingly.
"A little of this...a little of that, " He adds more grace from a vial, "..and..." Michael Says
Michael swirls the goblet, then forces the man in the chair to drink.
"Yes. Good boy." He watches as the man chokes and gasps, then flames out. "Hmm. Too much "that". How disappointing." Michael Says
Michael drags the man's body from the chair and drops it on the floor. We pan out to see a pile of bodies. He nods, then looks to the line of people in chains, spins his knife, and cheerily says
"Alright. Who's next?" Michael Says

THE BUNKER
Inside the library Mary, Elena and Bobby are going over weapons on the table.
"Who goes to Duluth in October. Sure Michael didn't touch down in Orlando?" Bobby Says
"Jo was pretty specific. Duluth." Mary Says
"Yeah, well, angel's ain't exactly known for their veracity." Bobby Says
Mary clears her throat and looks behind Bobby, as Castiel enters.
"No offense." Bobby Says
"None taken. I tend to agree with you." Castiel Says
Elena walks over and hands a gun to Sam, who is at the computer.
"Here you go." Elena Says
"Thanks Lena." Sam Says
"Hey, what's that?" Elena Asks
"So I've been searching through police reports in Duluth. Cops just turned up a pile of corpses that was dumped near some train tracks just north of town and their eyes were burnt out." Sam Says
"So Michael." Castiel Says
"We should go now. This isn't just Michael we're talking about." Sam Says
"It's Dean." Bobby Says
"Yeah. Cas, you know why you can't come with us, right?" Sam Says
"My angelic presence would be sensed by Michael, thereby nullifying your hopes of a sneak attack." Castiel Says
"Yeah, sorry." Elena Says
"And, you need me to stay here and babysit Nick, Wren and Jack." Castiel Says
"No it's okay uh Corinna's going to watch Wren for me, while we're out." Elena Says
"Alright and It's not babysitting, Cas." Sam Says
"Only in the sense that they're not infants, but they both have to be supervised. Jack is lost without his grace, Nick is...he's just a mess." Castiel Says
"Well, it-it's not his fault. Cas, Nick was housing, you know. He-he deserves a shot at rebuilding his life." Sam Says
"And yet every time I look at him, all I can see is the supreme agent of evil." Castiel Says, as Jack enters the library.
"You talking about my dad again? Look, I understand. Being around Nick - it's hard for me, too." Jack Says
"Uh, Jack, we're going to need you to sit this mission out. Not a permanent thing." Mary Says
"I know last time, I sucked when it mattered, and I need to improve. So...that's what I'm gonna do." Jack Says
"Alright. Okay." He cocks his gun, "Let's move." Sam Says
Downstairs in the Bunker Dungeon which has been made up as a bedroom, with a devil's trap on the floor under the bed in the center of the room.
A man sits on the bed with his back to us.We zoom to Nick as he has flashbacks of Lucifer killing with a snap in the Apocalypse World, Lucifer killing the desk agent. Nick holds his head in his hands, breathing heavily. More flashbacks: Lucifer killing Gabriel in Hammer of the Gods. Nick's flashback
are interrupted by Castiel knocking on the door.
"I brought you some nourishment. Now that he's, uh, gone, you-you must remember to eat." Castiel Says, while holding a tray.
"Right. Thanks." He sighs and looks at Cas, who has his back to him. "I'm not him, Castiel." Nick Says
"I know." Castiel Says
"But you still can't look at me." Nick Says
"It's difficult. You don't remember all the things you did in his thrall, but I do." Castiel Says
"I know. I just don't-I don't...get it. I don't understand why I would do something like that, I don't, I don't get how I would let Lucifer possess me." Nick Says, as Castiel sighs and turns to face him.
"You were in a lot of pain. And Lucifer saw vulnerability, and he, he exploited it." Castiel Says
"Is that what you tell yourself so you can be near me?" Nick Says
"I guess so." Castiel Says
"I just don't know what kind of pain would make
me allow Lucifer to possess me." Nick Says
"It was your family." Castiel Says
"My family? Sarah and Teddy?" Castiel nods, he gasps. "No." Nick Says
Nick have flashes back to Sympathy for the Devil. We see these scenes along with current Nick as he remembers.
"Oh my god. Who could do that? Who could do that?" Nick Says
"A man broke in to your house, and you weren't there." Castiel Says
"That was no man. That's not man. That's a monster. It's a monster, and then Lucifer found me and made me a monster, too." He starts sobbing, "Oh my god!" Nick Says
DULUTH
MORGUE
Above shot as the Coroner pulls open the drawer to reveal the man from the first scene. Bobby, Mary, Elena and Sam watch.
"These are just some of the victims. More are in the hall, a couple in a store room...we don't usually see this kind of action in Duluth." She Says
"The injuries all pretty uniform?" Elena Says
"Yep. The boys upstairs think maybe we're looking at a spree killer." She Says
"If they were DOA, you have an ETA on TOD? Any sample DFA?" Sam clears his throat, "DNA?" Bobby Asks
"Uh, frankly we don't even know the precise cause of death. I mean, there were the neck wounds of course, but there was also considerable internal trauma, so-"Her cellphone rings, "Excuse me." She Says
"Yeah. Sure." He looks at Bobby, "DFA?" Sam Says
"I've been fighting a friggin' apocalypse for 15 years, my, FBI might be a little rusty." Bobby Says
"Alright." Sam Says
"Let's give them a quick once-over, see what they missed." Mary Says
They all put on gloves and each move to a body.
"Angel kills for sure, and not grunts. We're talking 5-star smitings." Bobby Says
"A Knife slits in the throat, but it doesn't appear they bled out." Sam Says
"He kept these people alive for a while." Elena Says
Sam opens the mouth of his corpse, the original guy.
"Maybe these people aren't people. Looking at a vamp." Sam Says
"Same here." Bobby Says
"Yup." Elena Says
"Me too." Mary Says
"Why milk 'em if he's just gonna smite 'em?" Bobby Says
"Then why is an archangel hunting vampires in the first place?" Mary Says
"That's a good question." Elena Says, then looks to Sam.
A few moments later Sam, Elena, Mary and Bobby walks into Coroner's office, he knocks on the doorframe.
"Sorry. Excuse me. Um, did anyone come to claim or identify these bodies?" Sam Asks
"Oh, yeah. A young lady. Said she heard about the killings on the morning news, thought she might know one of the victims." She Says
"And?" Mary Says
"She didn't. Then she disappeared, never even gave us her last name." She Says
"Huh. Do you happen to have surveillance cameras outside?" Sam Asks
"Yeah." She Says
THE BUNKER
In the Bunker library Jack is seated at a desk reading a book, as Castiel approaches him.
"Looks like about..two centuries of biblical lore. Light reading." Castiel Says
"I'm researching how long it takes archangel grace to replenish." Jack Says
"Well, archangels being exceedingly rare, the data on that is woefully scant." Castiel Says
"The books say it can take from a month to-" Jack Says
"A century. Yeah. Complicating factor being your human component, which slows the process. Jack, um...mourning what you've lost...it's wasteful. Might be smarter to focus on what you still have." Castiel Says
"You don't understand what I'm going through." Jack Says
"Yes, I do-a little. At the time of the Great Fall, when angels were banished from heaven, I lost what I thought was everything. I had no grace, I had no wings. I felt hopeless and useless." Castiel Says
"What did you have left?" Jack Asks
"Well, uh..well, I had Sam, Dean, Elena and Corinna. But I had something else that was extremely helpful. I had myself. Just the basic me, as, uh...as Dean would say, without all the bells and whistles. You know, Sam and Dean, they weren't born with their expertise. They've been at it since they were children. Failing, winning, developing over the years. Patience, persistence-those are skills too. The past, where you come from, that's important, but it is not as important as the future and where you're going." Castiel Says, as Jack looks thoughtful.
HOTEL ROOM
Michael, who's dressed in a tux, buttons his sleeves and views himself in a mirror. He stills, and the mirror image moves as though in pain, Dean in the reflection looks at him.
"GET...OUT!." Dean Says
"I don't think so." Michael Says
"You can't." Dean Says
"Oh, but I can. Because, see..." He punches the mirror, and Dean is gone, "I own you. So hang on, and enjoy the ride." Michael Says

THE BUNKER
Castiel is still in the library on the phone, Nick is in the room.
"That doesn't make any sense, Sam. I've never heard of an interaction between an archangel and a vampire, certainly not in this universe. And..why would Michael be killing them? I mean, they're not a threat to him. Yeah, okay. Well, just let me know what you find out..Nick, are you, uh.." Castiel Says
"Nothing. Nothing. There's nothing. There's no information. There's no mention of my wife and son past the year they were...when they died. There's- there's nothing about the case being solved. Nothing!" Nick Says
"Oh, I'm sorry. I-I didn't know that." Castiel Says
"If I were around, I would have been on those cops every single day, Castiel. But I was out of my head with grief. I said yes to Lucifer. I was a coward, and now-" Nick Says
Castiel moves to put a hand on Nick's shoulder, he surges up and snaps his fingers.
"Don't." Nick Says
Castiel backs away, hands raised in the air while Nick looks at his hand, Castiel looks suspicious.
"Why did you do that?" Castiel Asks
"Do what?" Nick Says
"What went through your head just now?" Castiel Asks
"Um, I don't know? Nothing? What are you - trying to get at?" Nick Says
"Even though he's departed, there may be some of his influence still within you. Just-" Castiel Says
Castiel reaches out to touch Nick again. He lays his hand on Nick's shoulder, and a look of concentration and concern cross his face. Nick look worried and Castiel removes his hand.
"Lucifer may have inflicted more damage on your psyche than we suspected." Castiel Says
"I don't have time for this. I'm not letting this go, Castiel." He turns and storms away, "I'm gonna find out who killed my family." Nick Says
"Nick! And then what?" Castiel Says, Nick thinks then leaves.
APARTMENT
Inside a cheap apartment. A young woman, Lydia, lies on a bed, she looks up at pounding on the door.
"Yes?" Lydia Says
"Lydia Crawford, this is the FBI. Open up." Sam Says
Lydia looks terrified, and runs for the window, Sam continues pounding on the door.
"Open up!" Sam Says
"Icaeus!" Elena Says
Elena telekinetically breaks the door open, Sam and Elena have their gun's drawn, and Lydia turns away from the window. Bobby and Mary follow them into the room.
"Hey! Stop!" Sam Says
"Get away from me!" Lydia Says
"Don't move. We know who you are. We know you went to the morgue." Sam Says
"We saw your license plate on the security cams and pulled your address. You should've ditched the car when you first got turned. Made this way too easy." Bobby Says
"You're not FBI. You're hunters." Lydia Says
"That's right." Elena Says, as Bobby pulls his knife.
"I haven't done anything wrong." Lydia Says
"No, vampires never do." Bobby Says
"My nest, we-we fed on animal blood." Sam lowers his gun "We lived quiet lives, until...until he came." Lydia Says
"He? He who?" Elena Asks
"I don't know his name, but..he was strong. He tied all of us up and one by one he'd take blood from us. I couldn't see what he was doing, exactly, but every time there would be this explosion, and my friends would be dead. When he was coming for me, a couple of the others tried to att- tried to attack him.
I was able to get away, but...they didn't make it." Lydia Says
"Why was he killing you? Did he say?" Sam Asks
"I don't think he meant to. It-it's just that...things seemed to go wrong. He wasn't killing, it was like...it was like he was experimenting." Lydia Says
"Experimenting? What for?" Mary Asks
"That's-that's all I know." Lydia Says
"Okay." He advances on Lydia with his blade raised, "Nice chattin' with ya." Bobby Says
"Wait! Wait! I-I don't know what he wanted, I-I don't know who he was, but I do know where he is. If-if you let me go." Lydia Says
HOTEL ROOM
Michael enters the room, he turns on the light as a lovely woman enters the room as well.
"Thank you. Oooh, Very elegant. But then, so are you." She Says
"Thanks for showing me around." He uncorks some wine and pours two glasses, "I didn't realize there was so much going on in...where are we again?" Michael Says
"Duluth." She Says
"Of course. Nothing like where I'm from." Michael Says, as he pours her a glass of wine.
"What's it like in your hometown?" She Asks
"Hmm. Empty. Windswept. Dead bodies lying around." Dean Says
"You're so funny. What a nice surprise, meeting you. I bet you were wondering what I was doing, all by myself in that bar tonight." She Says
"I'm pretty sure I know exactly what you were doing in that bar tonight." Michael Says, as The woman sets the glass down
"Oh, Michael. I am so not that girl." She Says
"But you really are, aren't you?" Michael Says, She smiles and reaches her arms around his neck.
"You're terrible." She Says
"You have no idea." Michael Says
The woman giggles, then moves her face up and werewolfs out, big teeth and green eyes. Michael grabs her by the throat. His eyes begin to glow blue.
"Did you honestly think I didn't know what you are?"He lifts her off the floor, still gripping her neck "You think you picked me? I picked you." Michael Says
He flings her across the room, and takes a sip of wine as she turns to him, still on the floor.
"Now, summon your master." Michael Says
THE BUNKER
Castiel is flipping through a book in the library, as Nick paces on the phone.
"Detective, my wife and son were murdered in Pike Creek, Delaware. You're a police lieutenant in Pike Creek Delaware. If you can't help me, who can? ... Hello?" He closes phone, "You gotta be....You know what a cold case is, Castiel?" Nick Says
"It's-" Castiel Says
"It's a case too unimportant for anybody to care about. My wife and son are dead. Gone. Forever. My life is gone with them, and, uh, nobody cares. These cops don't care." Nick Says
"I'm sorry, that sounds very difficult." Castiel Says
"Difficult. Yeah, you know what's difficult? No evidence. There's no fingerprints, there's no DNA, I mean how does that even happen? I mean there was a witness who came forward and said they saw someone coming out of the house, and then they said they didn't see anything at all, and the case died. Like everything else." Nick Says
"Nick-you, on the other hand, you've been given a second chance. You're not dead." Castiel Says
"You don't understand." Nick Says
"Oh, I do." Castiel Says
"Why, because your body was stolen?" Nick Says
"Because I am occupying someone else's. All angels have to, in order to walk the earth. This...this was Jimmy Novak." Castiel Says
"Occupy." Sounds like a cleaned up way of staying "steal." And, uh, Jimmy? Is that his name? He all right with that?" Nick Says
"Yes, he was." Castiel Says
"Was." Nick Says
"Jimmy's dead." Castiel Says
"Castiel, you're just a stone cold body snatcher. You're no different than Lucifer." Nick Says
"I...I need to look in on Jack." He walks past Nick, but stops before he gets to the door, "You know, in all my thousands of years, what happened to Jimmy Novak and his family are my greatest regret." Castiel Says

HOTEL ROOM
The next morning Micheal hands a glass to a seated Man, and then sits himself, next to the werewolf woman from earlier.
"You first." He Says
"One hundred year old cognac. Strong notes of vanilla and apricot..." He drinks his wine, "And zero notes of silver." The Man also drinks, "I appreciate you accepting my invitation." Michael Says
"Yes, well, the ever-tactful Melanie thought a refusal might be unwise. She thinks you're a god." He Says, as both men chuckle.
"An archangel. But close." Michael Says
"And I'm the leader of a werewolf pack. Why on earth would an archangel care about us? About me?" He Says
"I admire you. Eating on the run, surviving, despite being stalked by those venal humans, who think of you as nothing but vermin." Dean Says
"My pack has survived and prospered for centuries, despite the humans." He Says
"Yes, well, I'm new to town, and from my perspective the real monsters of this world, the ones that cheat, cover, lay waste to this planet, are the humans. Who made them top dog? Pardon the pun." Michael Says
"God, I suppose." He Says
"God who? Between us, Phillipe, God's on permanent vacation. Gone fishing. Demons and angels don't seem to be much of a factor here, so,
I'm in charge." Michael Says
"And what do you want from me?" Phillipe Asks
"You and your kind, you are who you are. You kill, but not for sport, for trophies - to live. There's a purity in that. Isn't it time you had your due?" Michael Says
"Our due?" Phillipe Says
"There are ways to enhance your-let's call them "talents'." Michael Says
"And these ways are..." Phillipe Says
"Fully tested. There were some misfires early, I will admit to that. But I have cracked the code." Michael Says
"And now what? Do you propose we wage a way on the humans, keeping only as many of them alive as we need for slave labor and a steady food supply? Because I love that world, but believe me, it's an absurd dream." Phillipe Says
"Is it? Why be the hunt-"ed", when you can be the hunt-"er", hmm?" Michael Says
